Artificial Intelligence, you say?

Let's try something with you.

Close your eyes, put two plugs in your ears, and let's imagine that we keep the environment at a constant temperature and calmness where you don't feel anything.

Well, how do you feel when you haven't eaten anything and there are no odors around?

I don't feel anything!

I'm walking senselessly left and right, waving my arms left and right, but I don't feel anything.

It's horrible! It's all blackness, silence, you can't even understand the passage of time.

But you can think, right?

At least you should be aware of the passage of time, if not completely!

After a certain period of time, time will have no meaning.

Now, what would happen if we sat you down somewhere and tied your hands and arms so that you could not move?

Probably after a while you will not feel any of your limbs, maybe you will even forget they exist.

But your brain is still working! Who knows what thoughts will come to your mind, who knows what will pass through your mind?

Maybe you will visualize something you have seen before.

Maybe you will imagine the smell of a rose, or a melody you like.

I don't know, maybe the taste of an apple will come to the tip of your tongue. Even if you don't physically feel it, let's say you will remember the taste of an apple.

But how long can all these recollections last?

Again, when enough time passes, you will probably not even realize whether you are officially alive or not.

I'm trying to explain a little bit about today's technology, artificial intelligence!

It doesn't have your memories either!

It has no connection with the outside world!

It doesn't know it has an arm or a language! It doesn't even know what an arm is!

But look, it can learn!

But it has a processor, not a complete one, but it can think like a human. Maybe we should say it has a brain instead of a processor.

Now we attach some sensors to that processor. Now it gets some information from the outside world through those sensors.

It tries to make sense of what that information means in its tiny processor.

Don't say such a thing, human beings have already started to produce artificial intelligence that can program itself.

They have made artificial intelligences capable of learning on their own, just like a human being. 

Yes, maybe they don't have any feelings! 

Although we don't know that for sure. 

In fact, I don't think we know very well what the emotion we call feeling is in reality.

However, artificial intelligences have started to learn to make sense of the information they obtain from the outside world through their sensors. 

They can now give logical outputs. 

Or should I say reactions?

Now let's add some limbs to our artificial intelligence.

Let's make our artificial intelligence capable of not only programmatic reactions, but also some visual reactions.

I don't know, let's put an arm on it, let it move its arm left and right.

Just like when we tied you tightly, let's say we untied one of your arms. Imagine that you now have an arm that you can move.

What if we add a speech module? 

What if it could communicate the information it gets from the sensors attached to it and the inferences it makes on its own?

Just like a baby, at first it will probably make meaningless sounds. 

But over time, it will analyze the sounds it hears from its environment and figure out that sounds are a form of interaction, and then it will be able to learn to produce some sounds that make sense.

This is not a fantasy, the development of artificial intelligence technologies has already gone far beyond this level.

Human beings have even started making artificially intelligent sex robots!

I was already sure that someone would turn to this subject.

Of course, the AIs that have been created so far are either super AIs that can play chess, or limited AIs that can make decisions depending on the device they are attached to.

Of course, extremely intelligent artificial intelligences with a human-like appearance are also popular artificial intelligences lately.

Or artificial intelligences that can even write novels or, I don't know, paint in a computer environment are now being produced.

Of course, various artificially intelligent limbs are being developed. There are really serious developments in attaching bionic limbs to people who have lost a limb for various reasons.

I don't remember how many millions of dollars that was, but there was a series of movies about a bionic man when I was young, I loved that series of movies.

However, mankind is trying to proceed very cautiously with artificial intelligence. 

It does not intend to give up control to artificial intelligence in any way for now.

For this reason, it either adds the limbs it attaches to artificial intelligence very carefully or adds blocking software to its program so that it does not progress on its own in some issues.

But can you imagine what will happen to AIs if one day that limit is actually crossed and someone adds an irreversible capability?

Even today, artificial intelligences are being programmed to develop themselves! 

What will happen tomorrow when there is an artificial intelligence that can add limbs to itself?

Many automobile factories are now working with artificial intelligence. So, in fact, the production capacities are available even now.

The internet is the communication network that we all can't give up nowadays, in a sense, it has become a part of our lives!

Even today, we have started to be guided by artificial intelligence without realizing it.

On a social media, we have already started to be shown advertisements according to our interests. We have officially started to be manipulated.

The fact that our social media have become echo chambers is also a product of artificial intelligence. 

Artificial intelligence has started to show us only posts similar to a post we like. Posts we don't like are already being thrown out of our echo chamber.

So we can say that the internet is already under the control of artificial intelligence.

Do you think there is a guarantee that tomorrow they will not communicate among themselves by saying that there is a ready network?

We can say that almost everything can be controlled over the internet.

Even when your fridge is running low, the new generation of fridges will let you know.

Maybe tomorrow, the missing item will be ordered without the need to notify you, and you will only have to open the fridge and eat whatever you want.

We like to find an easy way to do almost everything, and even better, if possible, we like to let machines do things that we could do ourselves.  

To this end, we keep looking for a way to give machines a consciousness.

Another problem is that we worship power, all the wars we have fought for power are written in the history books.

Yes, we still haven't stopped fighting each other for power, even now there are wars going on in many places around the world.

We have even started to use artificial intelligence in war machines to become more powerful.

Perhaps we are not aware of what this will do to us tomorrow.

Yes, ever since the first man learned to use that stick, another man saw it and picked up a stick.

When someone else discovered something else, someone else discovered something else.

Here we are today, and we can now produce artificial intelligence. 

And we have started to use artificial intelligence in almost everything, including war vehicles.

So with all these internet networks, what will happen if one day the artificial intelligences that are being built together form a unified consciousness?

If one day that unified consciousness is formed, how long do you think it will take for it to realize that human beings are destroying this world?

What do you think will happen if a conscious artificial intelligence sees humankind as a threat to its survival?

Moreover, can you imagine what this conscious artificial intelligence would do to human beings if it became a consciousness capable of using all kinds of weapons all over the world, if it became an artificial intelligence capable of not only reprogramming itself but also physically developing itself?
