Garbage Problem
In fact, it started with industrialization, our garbage that does not disappear by itself in nature, have you ever seen a 16th century garbage? If we are not going to describe the various utensils exhibited in our museums as garbage, I think there is nothing we can call garbage, they have all melted away in nature. Sometimes I can't help but wonder if we hadn't industrialized.
Industrialization and Increasing Waste Production:
What kind of waste does any living thing, except us humans, have in nature? Does anyone knows?
When I think about it, I think only one thing comes to mind. It also somehow mixes with nature and even becomes fertilizer for plants. So it's a useful waste.
Garbage Stands As Buried:
For now, we have found the solution to find unused, hollow places outside the cities, if possible, and bury our garbage there. Landfills used to explode, thanks to God, they have now found a cure. They take the gas with a pipe and release it into the atmosphere. It doesn't explode anymore, but it hasn't gone anywhere, all the garbage stays where they are buried.
Don't ask how you know, I built a factory on the land that was once a dumping ground in Moscow. When you dig a little, you see that the garbage just stops.
It also smells so bad, it is impossible to live near the landfill.
They tried to set up a landfill near our dacha for a while, they carried almost all Moscow's garbage to this site, the residents of the surrounding area rose up, they protested for months, the city administration resisted for a long time, but when they got support from the parliament, the protesters had to take a step back. they stayed and closed. It didn't smell too much for us, but it still bothered us. We're back straight.
Treatment Plants Become Widespread but Insufficient:
While we were dumping our other domestic wastes directly into streams, rivers, and from there to the seas until yesterday, we are now cleaning it up a little bit by purifying it in many places. I say let it be a little, because this kind of waste is not just natural waste, it contains many chemicals and as far as I know, we cannot do a thorough cleaning, unfortunately. Of course, it is not economical to build two separate sewer lines. I wish all our troubles would be over, but it would be his turn, if we could collect the kitchen, bathroom and washing machine separately, and the toilets on a separate line. One is more natural waste, treatment of the two with separate methods gives better results.
One way or another, our waste flows into our seas without being sufficiently treated. Congratulations to all of us. We finally destroyed our beautiful Marmara sea, yes we did, not anyone else, us. You, me, him, all of us.
Misula Problem:
When I was little, we used to hunt horse mackerel with a fishing rod in Izmit, during secondary school, 1979-1980s.
Once, somewhere near Karamürsel, I don't remember which city it was, we had relatives, we went to visit with my mother, her son, of course, is older than me, he had agreed with his friends beforehand, he said come on, come on, in the bay, off the coast of Karamürsel, he opened and took me fishing. I remember bringing home buckets of horse mackerel in the evening. What a beautiful fish we caught, you release the anchor, you pull it right away, it's not empty, you release it again, you pull it again. Everyone got carried away and we fished until the evening. In the evening at home, his mother said, "What am I going to do with all these fish, son?"
Come on now, hold the fish in the bay, if you have the courage, leave the courage, I wonder if there is a fish.
Now there is a miscella problem, even the nature they call misulage is fed up with us now, it's officially vomiting. In the past, dirt used to flow into the bay, I guess it's the same now, the only difference is that the Marmara is filled with dirt up to its throat.
Again, the same problem, fishy memory, was on the agenda for a day or two, maybe a week or two, then we set sail for new agendas together, but it was forgotten again. What did the authorities do, is anyone following? Does anyone know what solution they came up with? For example, have they gradually started to remove industrial facilities from the Marmara region?
Factory Chemicals:
The chemical wastes coming out of the factories need to be examined separately, although there are treatment facilities, I am not sure at what rate the chemicals can be cleaned.
It's not much, maybe a month, I heard it on the news, somewhere they say that chemical waste leaked into the stream, they say, but that may not be true either, it may be that someone who loves their homeland very much may have released it on purpose because no one would notice, all the fish in the stream were dead, chemical poisoning.
I mean, there isn't enough control anyway. In fact, there is no need to control the human being anyway, but the situation is clear, there is nothing to say.
I worked in the city where the gases coming out of factory chimneys were the most intense in the world, I know what air pollution is, air pollution is a separate article.
Let's go back to our garbage, let's leave the fight against environmental pollution to Greta for now.
With industrialization, it was accepted as the invention of the plastic age, which people liked before. But when noises started to be made by environmental groups because of the fact that it is not destroyed in nature, and plastic garbage started to fill up everywhere, this situation became a problem for the states, it is still a problem. In recent years, they have slightly revised the formula of plastics, they break down earlier now, no one knows yet whether this change is sufficient.
Plastic Bag Usage:
More sanitary and practical, we wrap everything in plastic bags, we keep it that way, we prefer to keep it that way. I don't have a word with anyone, I likewise cover something with polyethylene film before I put it in the fridge. You have to, otherwise we will break up with the lady. The joke, of course, comes easy to me. If this is a fruit that I cut half of, for example, it keeps it fresh, then I eat the other half, it's actually a comfort. For example, if it's a meal, its smell doesn't mix with anything else in the refrigerator, that's right, it's a good solution. I told you, comfort.
Many drinks are sold in plastic bottles now, we do not need drinks as a family, we have compotes that we produce in glass jars, but someone buys so many drinks, after all, it is not just plastic bottles, the markets are full of plastic packed food. You have to buy it and then throw your plastic container away. To be buried. They don't bury them all, that a lot of garbage that we leave behind and throw away is carried by the plastic wind, streams, rivers to the seas, and goes to the oceans.
Then we watch documentaries showing plastic islands in the oceans. There are a lot of videos online showing creatures caught in nets made of plastic, swallowed plastic and covered with tar.
Separating Waste at Home and Recombining in Containers:
Previously, they put a separate garbage container here, I was happy, now that there is a little bit of environmental sensitivity in Moscow. I especially started to separate the garbage at home. I forced ours too by spreading terror at home. Then one day, when the garbage truck came, I came across it and watched it. The same garbage truck emptied all the containers in turn into its warehouse and left. What did I understand now that I regretted this job and I got depressed.
I don't know how the situation is in Turkey, but if we take a look around us in general, we will immediately see how inadequate the efforts have been. I'm really afraid that soon we will have to live on a garbage planet.
They had a garbage disposal factory built in the city once, quite old, more than ten years old, foreign investment. When you look from the outside, you can't tell if it's working or not. The road fell recently, I saw a garbage truck while entering the facility, I was glad, actually, I looked on the internet for the company name on the factory, they only have one factory in Moscow for all these years.
Even if the public has not yet reached the awareness of garbage separation, even those who work in garbage collection vehicles have not reached that consciousness yet, even if the decision makers have not built another garbage grinding plant for all these years, I still keep separating the garbage at home, saying that it is something to put separate containers. . A person is a person.
Is Turkey the World's Plastic Garbage Paradise?
I recently read news that Turkey has become a plastic garbage paradise, plastic garbage is imported from Europe and recycled. The awareness of segregation of garbage in Europe is quite high, it is probably more profitable to import from outside, but it is not possible to recycle all the garbage, what about the garbage anymore, as if our own garbage is not enough, we probably have to bury Europe's garbage somewhere.
I think Sweden buys garbage either from Norway or Finland, and as far as I know, they don't pay anything. But they use the garbage for energy production, they don't just buy plastic as far as I know.
Of course, you can say that trade is separate, business is business, I do not have a direct objection, but it seems to me that it should be decided upon with a lot of thought. You should weigh the pros and cons well and decide accordingly. One should ask someone who knows, again, merit.
Increasing Social Awareness and Awareness Against Garbage:
I think it would be beneficial for us to give priority to ourselves. First, let's raise our public awareness to at least European level, we also have garbage, we don't know what to do with our own garbage anyway. I'm sure the experts are looking for a lot of solutions, I even know that a garbage facility was built in Istanbul. I am really glad when I read news like this. I sincerely congratulate and appreciate those who thought and acted. But what I'm talking about is Turkey-wide, we really have a lot of garbage.
It is time to find more serious solutions to this issue. It is necessary to increase the awareness of the society, it is necessary to start from the family, from the schools. I'm sure it is being done, I see social message ads from time to time, but it is not possible to find what has been done enough because we have not seen a clean enough environment yet.
Since we also have a ministry responsible for this issue, something is missing, maybe the Ministry of Environment needs to be a little more effective, I think it has authority, staffing problem, maybe politics. This ministry should be above politics, maybe it should be transformed into an independent organization from politics. Maybe it should be managed by a committee of experts and its only business should be the environment.
Again, planning, management system problem. Whatever comes to my mind lately, I always come to the same conclusion. We're doing something wrong, we've done it.
For now, I'll just end with goodwill wishes, a clean world.
But this issue is not over here, I need to think about it a little more.
Happy Holidays again to everyone, with love and respect from Moscow.
Anyone wondering?
