USA's Questionable Operation: The Killing of ISIS (ISIS) Leader Qureshi

Killing of ISIS Leader Qureshi:

First of all, I would like to talk about an event that is not discussed much but is very important due to the Belarusian crisis, then the Ukraine crisis and the Ukraine war that started as a result of them. On the evening of February 2-3, 2022, the news that the leader of the DEASH (ISIS) Terrorist Organization Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Kureshi was killed by an operation carried out by the United States, fell into all media outlets. The official statement on the subject was made by US President Joe Biden.

According to the statement, the operation was carried out by the Special Operations Forces under the control of the US Central Command at night in the town of Atme in Idlib in northwest Syria. Biden, who was in front of the cameras, said that "with the death of the leader of DAESH, the world is freed from a great terrorist threat".

Biden's Statement on the Killing of Daesh Leader Qureshi:

Biden's statements are as follows:

“The operation was carried out by the US military forces in northwest Syria and on his own instructions.

The purpose of the operation was to protect the US people and their allies and make the world a safer place.

The Ministry of Defense has been instructed to take every possible measure to minimize civilian casualties.

In order to minimize civilian casualties in the operation, a special forces operation was chosen instead of an air strike.

Knowing that this terrorist chose to surround himself with his family, including children, it was decided to carry out a special forces raid at great risk.

As the US soldiers carrying out the operation approached to capture him; Rather than answering for his crimes, Qureshi detonated his suicide vest, ignoring the lives of his own family and other people in the building.

He committed suicide, taking several members of his family with him, just as his predecessor did.

The Qureshi were neutralized by the skill and courage of the armed forces.

The US soldiers safely completed the operation and returned to their base areas.

This operation is a testament to the capacity and reach of the United States to eliminate terrorist threats wherever they try to hide in the world.

We are on the alert, we are prepared.

The operation sent a powerful message to terrorists around the world: We will come after you and find you.”

How Accurate Are Biden's Claims:

When you read these statements carefully, some concerns and expressions of self-defense immediately catch the eye. It is enough to examine the expressions used one by one to understand this. For example, let's take a look at the claim that the world got rid of a major terrorist threat thanks to the murder of the leader of DAESH.

DEASH is an organization that has already come to the brink of extinction with the blows it has sustained for a long time. Its former power and threatening nature is almost gone. The murdered man is also far from leading the organization. It's just enough to hide. So it is not possible to say that it is a serious threat. It is difficult to understand why the murder of such a man saved the world from the threat of terrorism.

On what basis am I saying this? The news in the press and the news given by some sources show this. The man lost a leg, so he has no fighting skills. Moreover, he is content with living in a house he rented under a different name. He does not leave the house for fear of being caught by the US intelligence and does not meet with his organization by any means of communication. In the statements given by his neighbors, it is said that they have never seen him and they do not know who he is. So the man is far from leading the organization. He is in trouble for his life.

American Helicopter Drops in Operation:

Biden seems to be trying to express something by saying that he himself gave the order for the operation. If the operation were a complete success, we can assume that he said this to keep the praises to himself. But it cannot be said that the operation was completely successful. Because they lose a helicopter in an operation to kill a terrorist who can be counted as half a man. It's not made public, but there are likely troop casualties as well.

US Kills 12 Civilians in Operation:

On the other hand, a total of 12 civilians, including 6 children and 4 women, were killed alongside Qureshi in the operation. Years ago, one of the Palestinian organizations hijacked a plane and landed it in Egypt. Aircraft operation was carried out by Egyptian special forces and terrorists were killed. But most of the passengers died too. Due to this operation, Egypt was in a difficult situation and when the hijacked planes landed in Egypt, no state with citizens in hostages gave permission to the Egyptian security forces to operate.

Here, too, what the US special forces do is not much different. Especially the murder of one of the local people, who was the driver of a vehicle passing by by chance, is a scandal. In such point operations, only the targeted person needs to be neutralized. The murder of 12 civilians, including 6 small children (at least one of these children must be a baby, because there is a baby carriage next to the building in the pictures in the newspapers), in order to kill a terrorist is a complete failure, no matter how we look at it. In terms of international law, it is a situation that should put the USA in trouble. Because in such operations, if the risk of civilian casualties is great, the operation is canceled or postponed.

I think that's why Biden said that the purpose of the operation was to protect the US people and their allies and make the world a safer place, that he had instructed the Department of Defense to take every possible precaution to minimize civilian casualties, that the operation was airborne to minimize civilian casualties. He is trying to say that a special forces operation was chosen instead of the attack, that Qureshi chose to surround himself with his family, including children, and that a special forces raid was taken with great risk, that is, they took every precaution not to harm civilians.

Qureshi's Death Is Called Suicide:

However, he is aware that there is a great disgrace and crime element in the middle, and he feels the need to put the blame on someone else. Naturally, he puts the blame on Qureshi, whom he can most easily blame. For this reason, he says that as the US soldiers who carried out the operation approached to catch him, Qureshi detonated his suicide vest, instead of answering for the crimes he committed, disregarding the lives of his family and other people in the building.

Why DAESH Leaders Are Being 'Killed' by Suicide:

Here, as evidence that the blame is entirely on Qureshi, he points to the fact that he committed suicide by taking a few members of his family with him, just as his predecessor (that is, the DEASH leader who was killed in an operation before him) did. In other words, he wants to say "the leaders of this organization always do this, it is their fault". But what he said after that does not agree with this thesis. Because Biden says the Qureshi were neutralized thanks to the skill and courage of the armed forces. If the Qureshi were not killed and self-detonated, where did the courage and talent of the armed forces come from?

How Many US Soldiers Died in the Operation?

The claim that the US soldiers have safely completed the operation and returned to their base areas is open to discussion. Yes, they probably did, but how did they come back? Did they all come back safe and sound? When the incident is examined, it is seen that there must be casualties. Because, if there was an explosion when the soldiers entered or entering, there must be dead or wounded. Moreover, their helicopter crashed. It is said that the USA destroyed the helicopter by burning it, but when you look at the pictures, parts of the helicopter are scattered around. So it looks like it quickly fell to the ground and there was a crash. No one was hurt during the crash?

Message to Terrorists:

Perhaps the only statement with very high accuracy in the statement; It is a statement that this operation is a testament to the capacity and reach of the United States to eliminate terrorist threats wherever they try to hide in the world. It may be true that they are on the alert, but it seems doubtful to me that they are prepared. Because, until now, they have not been able to eliminate almost any terrorist organization without getting stronger. They were able to kill the leaders of the terrorist organization only after the organizations weakened to such an extent that they lost their effectiveness. If it is successful to kill the leader of a terrorist organization while hiding in a house by cutting off his contact with the world after killing thousands of people, there is nothing to say.

“The operation sent a powerful message to terrorists around the world: We will come after you and we will find you.” The expression seems a bit exaggerated. Yes, the USA found and killed the al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan on May 2, 2011, during the period of Barack Obama, but the organization had already lost its power and the man was no longer a threat.

Exaggerated Figures:

There is no difference in the situation of DAESH leaders. Since 2014, DAESH had established its local extensions in different countries. It can be said that the structures in Afghanistan, Libya and Yemen are still relatively strong, but they have weakened considerably compared to the period when they were strongest. The organization had 30-40 thousand fighters in those years, and the population of the population in the regions under its control was 9 million.

Today, DEASH is trying to be active in a limited area in the north and northwest of Iraq and east of Syria. While some western experts estimate that the organization has between 4,000 and 6,000 fighters, some sources mention that there are around 10,000 ISIS militias in Syria and Iraq. However, considering the silence of the organization, it is clear that these figures are exaggerated.

Where Are Daesh Militants?

Most of the militants of the organization died in the conflict or are detained in camps and prisons under the control of Syria and PYD. From the articles and pictures published in the press, it is seen that almost all of them remained like skeletons due to hunger and poor shelter conditions. The number of those who escaped from the organization and lost track of it is too great to be underestimated.

It is obvious that the organization now has difficulty in controlling its international network. Therefore, the organization has turned into a decentralized structure. Therefore, the killing of Qureshi does not mean much. Because the organization is already self-administered by regional leaders independently of it.

The United States, under Trump, had also killed the previous DAESH leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in 2019, when the organization lost most of its power. Supposedly, he committed suicide by detonating his suicide vest in a tunnel during the operation organized by the US army.

Questionable Deaths:

What a coincidence that all DAESH leaders blow themselves up. This situation is as dubious as Ulrike Maria Meinhof, a member of the Rote Armee Fraktion (RAF), which the Germans call the Baader-Meinhof Gang, hanged herself in prison on May 9, 1976, and Bernd Andreas Baader and his friends Gudrun and Jan were killed in prison in 1977. is not it?

According to eyewitnesses, it is understood that the Americans pulled a person out of the building alive and took him to the helicopter. But neither Biden nor any other US official made any mention of it. I wonder why? Who was this person? Why is the USA hiding this from the world public?
