What happens if the war spreads?

What I am going to talk about is that what I have been fearing for some time has now come true. What happens if Russia decides to expand the war to a wider region? The missiles fired at Poland, yes, let's see who reacts to this development and how.

The world is closely following the ongoing war on the territory of Ukraine.

When I went outside this morning, I felt that it had gotten quite cold, it was already snowing. A chill ran down my spine, and at the same time I thought about Russia's withdrawal from some parts of the Ukrainian territory and the joyful reception of these developments in Ukraine. It must be getting colder there now that it is getting colder here.

Russia has changed its war tactics while abandoning some parts of the war. It has now started to hit especially energy infrastructures in city centers. If the cities are without electricity, it means that people are really freezing in this winter time.

War is something I'm totally against, but as I've written about before, Russia's perspective on this issue is a perspective of existence.

No matter how well prepared it is, Russia has realized that it has some military inadequacies.

In fact, the front on which the war is being fought is a very big front. The distances here are huge. Even the distance between two cities is sometimes the same as the distance from one end of Turkey to the other. In Ukraine, there is a little more urbanization than in Russia, but the urban centers there are sparsely populated. The terrain is much flatter, so you can advance fast enough if you want to, but the distances are large enough that it is not so easy to support troops in the rear. I won't go into more detail, the experts have already discussed these tactics enough.

What I am going to talk about is that what I have been fearing for some time has now come true.

What happens if Russia decides to expand the war to a wider region?

The missiles fired at Poland, yes, let's see who reacts to this development and how.

For now Europe is watching this development. But this is a very serious development. Russia has not yet confirmed the launch of the missiles in Poland in the evening. Maybe there was a mistake, maybe the missiles were fired unintentionally. Maybe the missiles fell from Ukraine into Polish territory. It is not yet clear exactly what happened.

But what if Russia really wants the war to expand?

Would Poland be the first country to fire missiles?

If we look at the second world war, yes, if the goal was war with Germany, it would make sense.

But in the current war it is not about Germany. Russia does not have a direct border with Poland, except for the city of Kaliningrad. Belarus is in between.

So I consider this development a mistake for now.

So, apart from this development, would Russia want to expand the war to a wider region?

The direct answer to this question is no. If it wanted to, it would have already done it by now. If it had the power beyond its will, it would have applied a different war tactic in Ukraine from the beginning.

In fact, it tried to do so at first, but it quickly realized that its power was not enough and turned to its current tactics.

I hope that all sides will soon realize that this war is pointless and end it as soon as possible. If there is a mistake again, as in this case, I think it will not end well.

Love and respect to everyone from Moscow
