He is a retired Staff Colonel and a Freelance Research Author. He completed his undergraduate education in the field of Electricity and Electronics at the Turkish Military Academy in 1986. He completed his primary school education at the Armored Troops School in 1987 and his master's degree (international relations and history) at the Army War College in 1998. He graduated from the Armed Forces Academy in 2004.
He served as Armored Unit Team and Company Commander, Internal Security Battalion Commander, 50th Mechanized Infantry Regiment Command in various units of the Land Forces. He served as a staff officer in the Brigade and Army Headquarters, the Army War College, and the Land Forces Training and Doctrine Headquarters. He worked as an Academic Education Plan, Program, Assessment and Evaluation Officer for three years.
Within the scope of his mission abroad, he served as the Land Attaché for one year in the period 2006-2007 and as the Attaché of the Armed Forces for two years between 2007-2009 at the Tel Aviv Armed Forces Attaché. During this period, he participated in many international meetings, conferences and seminars and made investigations in the region. He conducted research, reviews and evaluations on regional political and security issues and conflicts, including the Second Lebanon War. He made many contacts and visits in the field of defense industry.
He was retired and discharged from the Turkish Armed Forces in August 2012, while he was in the rank of Staff Colonel, at his own request.
He still continues to publish his articles in various journals and websites as a freelance research writer. Security, Strategy and International Relations are his main areas of interest and research.
