How Do We Define Colors?

Years later, when color televisions came out, I learned that the primary colors were actually red, green and blue. (Red, Green, Blue, RGB) For some reason, you get different results with oil paint and different results with light.

Can you describe green to me?

Yes, green is a color. They define it in the dictionary as the color that emerges from the mixture of yellow and blue and is seen in most plant leaves.

Its scientific description is explained as light with a dominant wavelength of approximately 495-570 nm.

Green, the color of nature, is also the symbol of spring. For this reason, it represents optimism and hope along with the revival of nature in both psychology and visual arts. Green, one of the most vibrant secondary colors, also means courage and freedom.

This is the definition written in the books.

But how do you think green can be described? So when you think of green, what comes to your mind? How do you imagine this color in your mind?

This is the color of nature! Green! How can a color be described?

I don't know, for example, what do you think is the difference between blue, red and yellow?

Actually there is no difference, right?

But maybe green gives us some peace. For example, red seems to be a bit aggressive color, but green is much more peaceful.

Although I like blue more, maybe it's because of my name. After all, when you think of the sea, the color blue comes to mind. I think I identified with my name since my childhood.

But green isn't bad either.

For example, the lady likes cucumber green or pistachio green more.

Really, there are all kinds of shades of these colors, right?

We call it pastel colors, you know, the ones with a slightly pale tone. They're not bad either.

***

We worked hard decorating the house. It is very difficult to make our lady like something.

That color didn't match this one!

There is also such a thing as color harmony. Some colors are more compatible with each other. Some of them don't work no matter what you put with them. Other colors don't go well with them.

***

They say black and white are not colors.

But for example, if you mix red and white, you get pink.

Are red and pink the same color? No!

So white has an effect on colors. So why not white?

By the way, you know that pink is the color of roses.

But there is also a shade of pink called gypsy pink. Gypsy pink is a bold color. For some reason, gypsies love bright colors.

Don't call it Gypsy! They are roman citizens!

Okay, but what is the difference when it comes to Roman citizens? Aren't you making a distinction when you say that?

Anyway, for some reason we sometimes use fruits and vegetables to describe colors.

Brown! Well? That's the color of coffee.

Orange color, melon color, cherry red, cherry red, plum color, eggplant purple, strawberry pink, banana color, lemon...

Even green has thousands of varieties, sea green, forest green, dark green, olive green, grass green, yellowish green, lime green, light green, liqueur green... The list goes on.

Then there is the most popular color of recent times, turquoise!

The once popular color is purple.

Then there is the salmon color, which has become very popular lately, there is sand grey, there is aqua, there is cyan. It's ivory, it has a babymouth.

What about smoked meat?

Petrol green?

I like beiges too.

Lilac isn't bad either.

Then there are metallic colors. Silver color, golden yellow, cobalt blue, chrome color, metallic orange…

In our projects, we write colors from the RAL color chart, especially for facade elements. Its name is obvious, you can't say it was meant to be this rather than that. Is the RAL number not clear? What else? Did I write RAL 9006 for the project?

Open it, didn't you choose this color? So I ordered it and brought it. What more do you want from me?

Or maybe the architect wrote this, and you approved the project and gave it to me to place the order! If you have a problem, go and solve it with an architect. I am a builder. I need to stick to my work schedule!

Of course, we cannot speak so harshly to employers. If he requests a change at the last minute, we make sure to see if it is possible.

Maybe the manufacturer hasn't received the paint yet! We immediately turn to the manufacturer and say wait a minute, there may be changes.

Then we turn to the employer and say, unfortunately, the manufacturer bought the paint, but maybe he can use it in another job, and if you give this much difference and this much time, we can handle it.

Short day's profit, our hands don't get tired by throwing stones. The master's hand cannot be held. If he wants a change at the last minute, the employer will pay whatever the price!

Secrets of the contracting world!

Of course, there are many color catalogs other than RAL, but the most standard is RAL.

Yes, we had to categorize the colors; there is no other way to solve the problem.

There is a concept called primary colors and secondary colors.

In art classes, we learned that the main colors are blue, red and yellow. Secondary colors are orange if you mix red and yellow, purple if you mix red and blue, and green if you mix blue and yellow.

But years later, when color televisions came out, I learned that the primary colors were actually red, green and blue. (Red, Green, Blue, RGB)

For some reason, you get different results with oil paint and different results with light.

I'm still confused about this.

It is possible to adjust the tones of colors in the digital environment with different numbers given to these three colors between 0-255. RGB code to this It is said. For example, RGB(255,255,255) is the color code corresponding to white. RGB(255,0,0) is red, RGB(0,255,0) is green, and RGB(0,0,255) is blue. RGB(0,0,0) is also black, of course. All colors can be produced digitally with this RGB code system.

Okay, so what did I ask in the first place?

I asked you what comes to your mind when you think of green.

How would you describe green?

Let's not force it any further, as you may have understood from what I wrote above as the names of the colors, we humans can only describe colors as the color of something, unfortunately there is no other way to describe them.

Of course, some colors are a source of peace within us, or some get on our nerves, and some calm us down. It's like listening to music.

But these reactions have little to do with the wavelength of the colors or their physical counterparts. Because red reminds us of fire or blood, for example, because blue is the color of the sky and green is the color of nature, we have involuntary reactions to these colors that have been ingrained in our genes throughout history.

In other words, what we call color is a phenomenon that we create in our own minds. Maybe we all visualize colors in our brains in our own way. It's just that we all give the same definition to the same color and perceive it in the same way, but maybe we all imagine colors differently in our brains.

There is also such a thing as color harmony, this means color harmony. Since color harmony in all of our brains has developed based on the same physical color characteristics, we are all conditioned to similar harmony conditions regarding colors.

After all, colors are information we learn later; for all of us, the color of something is something!

Yes, we can always describe colors as the color of something, this is a fact.

We call green the color of nature, we Turks actually took green from nature. Etymologically, green derives from the color of green plants. It is a completely Turkish word.

But blue is not like that, blue is Arabic for example, it means the color of water. Actually, the Turkish word is sky, but we Turks used to use the word sky instead of blue. Gokturks, great Turks. One of its meanings is sublime.

Etymologically, yellow means pale color, again completely Turkish. However, the sun is also considered yellow in color. But it probably came from when the grass turns yellow and faded in the summer.

Let's look at red. The etymological dictionary says Arabic and Persian. Red is actually a dye obtained from an insect. Red, maggot.

What is the need for this word? In our own language, we have the color 'red', like efendi. There is also red, the color of blood. Why are you introducing the color that people get from insects into our beautiful language?

White, black, red, dusky, yellow, green, sky, red, brown, gray, black, brown, hazel, tawny, golden, moth, smear, henna, bush, tufted, hay, hay, I wonder what is not enough for us?

I said there are many more, but there is no need for more since they are now forgotten words.

Instead of color, they called it dye, which is not bad actually, after all, dye is actually Turkish. Dye can be derived from dye. It can also be used as dye.

Let's protect our language, we have a very beautiful language.

Actually, I wrote another article about colors before. In that article, I mostly examined the relationship between art and colors.

This article is directly about colors.

Different colors are good, add some color to your life.

With love and respect to everyone from Moscow
