Social Media Knows Us Better Than Us

I have been a little busy in the dacha for a while. In fact, I have been engaged in a construction activity that I have not been able to finish for years. This year, when I connected the electricity, I thought I would increase the activities a little bit, but it is a really tough endeavour, there are so many things to do that I had to take a break from the articles I had prepared in the evenings for a while after a really exhausting effort until the evening.

Anyway, I wanted to go back home and rest a little bit since I had finished what I could do in the first stage. After a little rest, I think I will go back and do something more as soon as the weather permits.

In the meantime, when I got home, I thought I'd open YouTube and have a look, what's going on in Turkey. YouTube, as you know, prioritises the topics you are interested in.

The first thing I saw on the screen was the flash statements by Barbaros Şansal. Did it interest me? To tell you the truth, I am so tired that I am not curious about what Barbaros Şansal announced. Maybe I will have a look sometime.

The next topic was Dücane Cündioğlu's YouTube interview, analyses on religious consciousness. Yes, I have been listening to Cündioğlu's interviews for a while, even if they are old. He touches on philosophical issues in depth, and as a former religious person, he analyses the issues in depth in his interviews. Especially after the tiredness of the day, listening to his interviews relaxes me a little bit. Maybe I will switch on late and listen to this subject.

The next subject is an English cowboy film. I love cowboy films, I've written about them before. I watch old cowboy films whenever I can. It is more enjoyable to watch the original. But not now, now I'm more interested in what's on the Turkish agenda while I'm working hard at the restaurant, these issues are more interesting to me.

Unfortunately, YouTube has not yet suggested a video about the Turkish agenda for me to watch. It must be because I haven't watched it for about a week, the next video it suggested is dear Celal Şengör's video titled "Everything in the universe will disintegrate". 

I have already written about this subject before. Entropy and consequently the great stagnation. Maybe I will open it sometime and have a look, but I am not very interested in this subject now.

Look, by the way, he recommended a video from Nejat Uygur, a theatre play called Haydi Eyvallah. I don't really watch Nejat Uygur, the late Nejat Uygur, but since I like his theatre plays, he probably wants to say look at this one.

The next video suggestion is an interview with Professor Dr Ahmet Arslan. Ahmet Arslan is a person whose opinions I value, and his interviews also contain very deep topics. Maybe I will take a look at this interview later.

Look, we have finally come to the Turkish agenda. Deniz Zeyrek and İsmail Saymaz's programme "Zor Soru" on Sözcü TV. I opened it and had a look. Dear Uğur Dündar was also a guest on the programme. 

Since Istanbul was flooded, Deniz Zeyrek couldn't land in Istanbul to host the programme and flew back to Ankara.

What about the problem of flooding in the rains in Istanbul? They couldn't solve the problem of flooding. Of course, whatever you do in a megapolis with a distorted structuring like Istanbul is not profitable. Big mistakes have been made from the beginning, it's not easy to fix.

It's Ayhan Bora Kaplan. The recent capture of mafia leader Ayhan Bora Kaplan while travelling abroad was a big event, wasn't it? Now, as far as I understand, his confessions and his connections with Soylu, the former interior minister, are on the agenda.

I think this is an intimidation operation, again, our elders who somehow take over the situation will close the case, and that's it. I think they won't drag this out too long. This is an intimidation operation to tell you to stay at ease, otherwise this will happen to you, nothing more. We will wait and see. Turkey has already gone crazy, there are a lot of mafia bosses around.

In the rest of the programme, as always, the topic turns to the CHP. Who said what, who did what, the change-makers, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's people... I can't stand these topics. It is not understandable whose hand is in whose pocket. You have some dignity, don't you? I have tried all these years like a master, it just doesn't work, so something is wrong, let someone come who can do better than me. But no, even if it is an opposition seat, it means that it is a comfortable seat, for some reason, once you sit in it, you don't want to get up.

It doesn't matter, they will fight and somehow what will happen will happen. 

In the meantime, I think that if they don't lose Istanbul, at least Istanbul is in safe hands for now. Although at this rate, it will not be easy for them to keep it in this confusion.

Then there is a video in Russian, a video about Albert Einstein's theory of relativity. How long will I watch this subject, I have already watched almost all the videos on this subject. Although I still have questions in my mind, I guess there is no need for a Russian one.

Some nights I especially listen to videos that teach English with a story, since there is not much chance to practice here, it is enjoyable to listen if the story interests me. I guess that's why YouTube has included this story in its recommendation list. Little Women, maybe I will listen to it late at night.

Now for the next video. Men's volleyball highlights. Japan Finland. I love volleyball. After the ladies' success, it's time for the men. These are already match highlights. It's worth a look.

The next video is Flue TV, The Unannounced. Look, I like this programme too. It's really funny.

Next is the economy programme, an expert says inflation will hit a record high. Economy programmes are the programmes I follow during the day.

Magazine Line is the next programme. You can't do without the magazine, isn't it important who did what with whom and where?

What happened to the Golden Orange? We had a classic and serious film awards festival, but it seems they've taken over that too. The last time the jury president didn't know how to dance, I guess they made her worse than a belly dancer. You can be afraid of this government.

I skip recurring topics, but there is also an old black and white American film. The Angel and the Villain. I especially like the simplicity and innocence of old films.

YouTube also recommended a Russian film, and I watch Russian films, especially if they are old.

Politics again, Bahçeli defended Soylu, Minister Yerlikaya is determined despite Bahçeli!

My band's concert is also lined up, Golden Day. Not many people know them in Turkey, but they are one of my favourite bands. Founded by a Dutch bass guitarist, they sing modernised Turkish folk songs and Anatolian pop. The lead singer is Turkish, of course.

Can Atalay, the Gezi trial and a programme on the economy. What did you expect? They'll make you a member of parliament! I'm telling you, the train has already left. Enjoy yourselves.

Pelin Batu interviews. Pelin Batu, who usually talks about historical topics, has this time gone into the origins of gossip. I should take the time to watch this video.

Selçuk Bayraktar has just given an interview to Konuştum. He did good things despite his young age. However, I think he has unnecessary outbursts. I think it would be beneficial for him to continue in the job he knows while he has the opportunity. Although there are many people who flatter him. I think there are many people who want him to enter politics. Maybe all this is just mouth polling. I think he is considered as one of the heirs after Mr Erdoğan. Still, I know from myself that we engineers are not as flammable as politicians. Even if he aspires to politics, I don't think he can do it.

Gülşen sang the National Anthem and caused a stir! I don't understand this either. I'm not really interested in it. Maybe I'll open it sometime and see what the truth is.

I guess the rest is just nonsense. I think there was Azerbaijan in the Russian programmes. The whole world kept silent about the operation, didn't they! Don't you think this situation is interesting? I'd better dwell on this issue for a while. Let me listen to the opinions of politologists, who think and plan what. Yes, by the way, in Russia there are specialists in such deep issues, they do not express their opinions on everything, they comment only on the issues they know, and they are called politologists. 

In short, it seems that I didn't miss much. Mostly familiar topics.

On Monday, the topics of the new week will become clearer. 

For me, on the one hand, the topics of the articles are the ones that interest me more. I think we should continue with the topics of interest.
