Why does a tongue wound not heal easily?
Those who cannot hold their tongues, who speak bad words in the most unlikely places and to the most unlikely people, can cause great spiritual destruction. God has given us the tongue to speak and the mind to think and speak!
The greatest feature of human beings that distinguishes them from all other living beings is that they are thinking spiritual beings. Humans are not programmed beings like robots! Every human being is flesh and bones and has feelings. Being sad, being happy, experiencing disappointment and dozens of other emotions surround us throughout our lives. Our ancestors say that breaking a person's heart is worse than destroying the Kaaba. Yes, indeed, there is nothing worse than breaking hearts. The people we hurt and upset with our bad and hurtful words never forget them. Don't look at what they pretend to have forgotten!
Breaking a heart is an act that is often very difficult to compensate. The virtue of being a good person is not to do evil to anyone, not to hurt anyone, never to break hearts, and more importantly, not to be hurt by anyone, to be forgiving and forgiving. Those who cannot hold their tongues, those who speak bad words in the wrong place, against the wrong people, can cause great spiritual destruction. God has given us the tongue to speak and the mind to think! Without the mind, it is not possible to use the tongue effectively. Language is not only the ability to get words out of the mouth. When language and reason act together, a unity and style in speech is achieved. Because our mind shows us which words should be said. Words spoken without reason, without thinking, are like bullets thrown randomly around. It is known how it will damage the place it touches.
There is a saying for words spoken haphazardly, without thinking. They say, "Sometimes, if words are not spoken in their proper place, they pierce the human being". However, it is unlikely that the words we say thoughtfully will harm people. The person who holds his tongue will also keep himself away from many troubles. Our ancestors did not say in vain that if the word is silver, silence is gold. How well they said it. For this reason, we should not speak in public without thinking, we should not say words that will harm people and upset them.
In the context of this issue, I suggest that we go in front of a mirror and ask ourselves some questions. Have I made a mistake that will upset and hurt the other person? Have I opened a heartache in the other person? Did I know how to take heart after breaking that heart? If we have the face to answer these questions with an open heart, we are on our way to becoming a good person. If we do not have the courage to make this inner reckoning, then we are on a dead end street. We are expected to get out of there at the first opportunity before we get lost.
I decided to write this article after listening to Orhan Gencebay's song Tongue Wound. I believe that "Turkish language" should have a special place in my opinion. We all accept that we should take care of our language, but many of us do not show the necessary care. Leaving you alone with the verses of that beautiful song, I say stay with respectful love.
Wounded Tongue
Tongue wound, tongue wound is the most painful wound
Who knows what's in store for us?
Maybe we'd have been so happy if we'd held our tongues.
This stubbornness, this caprice, these quarrels have worn out our love
We didn't hold our tongues even when we said the most bitter words.
Tongue wound, tongue wound is the most painful wound
There is a way from lips to heart that is love and affection
Maybe we'd have been so happy if we'd held our tongues.
Just when we thought we had found love, how we lost our love
How hopeful were the first steps towards love
To say I love you was the only way of my heart
Longing waits for us, loving waits for us
We're not the only ones who've lost all these years of labour.
Tongue wound, tongue wound is the most painful wound
There is a way from lips to heart that is out of respect and love.
Tongue wound, tongue wound is the most painful wound
There is a way from lips to heart that is love and affection
