Writing a Script

What screenwriters do in our country is not much different from making soup. They add everything to the scripts. Let's have some pain, let's have some conscience. You know, courage, there should be some courage in the script.

Do you know how to make soup?

Of course I do!

Throw whatever you find in the cupboard into boiling water and stir. That's your soup.

Don't forget to add salt and pepper! Add some butter and you'll have a delicious smelling soup.

And do you know how to write a script?

A screenplay? Of course not! It's a bit difficult.

First you find an interesting subject.

Then you have to work very carefully around that subject.

Writing a script is a serious job. Not just anyone can write.

As far as I know, there is even a school for screenwriters.

Yes, writing a screenplay is a very difficult job.

You know, what screenwriters do in our country is not very different from making soup.

They add everything to the scripts.

Let's have some pain, let's have some conscience. You know, courage, there should be some courage in the script.

Tribal life is a must! But there should also be a poor young girl.

What were those movie scripts back then? Rich boy, poor girl! Or vice versa, the daughter of a factory man falls in love with a poor boy.

There has to be a dilemma so that the movie can be watched.

Let's add some tears, and there you have it.

The other day I wrote an article on TV series, in which I criticized Marvel characters in my own way.

While I was writing that article, I thought that I should find a TV series and watch it because I'm not really interested in the topics on the agenda these days.

I don't really like crime dramas, but while I was looking for one, I found and watched a show that had a little bit of science fiction in it, but the main plot was a crime drama.

The show is called "Day Break".

I won't go into too much detail, no spoilers for those who haven't watched it. But the science fiction part of the subject is the story of a detective stuck in the same day. He wakes up every morning and realizes that it's the same day again, it can't be the next day.

He experiences different events during the day, he is accused of killing someone important, somehow the day ends and the next day the same events happen again.

Actually, this endless day scenario was also present in other movies I've seen before.

Some screenwriters like this time compression. Of course, it's not going to happen, but it happens because of the script.

I recommend the series to those who like this kind of scenarios.

What I want to draw attention to in this article is how carefully the progression of events in the script was written.

I understand that the scriptwriters of the series really know how to write a script. They embroidered the script like embroidery. Of course, since it was a detective story stuck in the same day, it was possible to look at the events from different angles each time according to the script.

They scrutinized everything in every episode. But they also connected the events well. Nothing broke in the chain of logic.

In fact, the fact that the reasons for some of the events shown in the first episode are understood in the following episodes, that some scenes that you did not pay much attention to in the first episode are connected to something important in the following episodes made the series a really quality series.

Yes, what seems like a soup at the beginning is actually a very complicated conclusion in the end.

This is what you think about the subtleties of screenwriting as you watch the series.

A screenwriter will be smart. He will know the logic sequence well.

Let me end with a new movie scripted by one of my friends.

Breath: Minus Two.

The previous movies were great. I'm sure this one will be too.

Don't miss it. December 15th in theaters.

Greetings to dear Hakan Evrensel.

Love and respect to everyone from Moscow.
