A Corner of Paradise

Your place in heaven is ready if you vote for us! Look, this is my favorite saying. There are others, but I think this is the most striking one.

Your place in heaven is ready if you vote for us!

Look, this is my favorite saying.

There are others, but I think this is the most striking one.

Until yesterday, even I could have fallen for this statement.

Imagine, you cast a vote and then your place in paradise is ready!

No way, don't say nonsense, we are generations raised with Nasreddin Hodja's logic.

What if it works, right? Hodja didn't put yeast in the lake for nothing.

What if Akşehir lake was all yogurt?

Hodja would have been rich!

That logic, I really think even I could have fallen for it, but of course I am joking.

But I can't say that there are no people in our country who think like that.

Fortunately, all elections are very critical, that is, they are on a knife-edge, and most of us vote for what we think is right every time.

Would it be bad if there was an election whose outcome was known from the beginning, an election whose outcome would not change no matter what you do? Then we would vote for the candidate who promises us paradise with peace of mind, wouldn't we?

What if what he said was true?

Would it be bad, I mean, what harm could it do to have a corner of paradise already?

I think some people thought like that in this election and even if they were promised something that would not happen, they voted with the enthusiasm of what if.

On Friday evening, Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu finally made a public appearance on a TV channel.

Even the veteran journalist Uğur Dündar insisted, but they could not get that word out of his mouth.

No, he could not say that we have failed.

He didn't say OK, I can't do it, I will leave this party to younger people.

So what did he say?

Believe me, I didn't really understand. He said something, but I think he meant that the party made a mistake. Even our people may have said it made a mistake. But I don't think he said anything about a mistake on his part.

***

Isn't it always like that?

When things go wrong, we always look for a culprit.

I love this country so much!

Yes, I love it too, maybe even more than anyone else. Can anyone prove otherwise?

Not without me right now!

Really? Really? Why is that? What makes you so indispensable?

I never said I would be this, it was always others who insisted that you do this, do that, take over!

Maybe that's the problem, isn't it?

Too much goodwill is perhaps damaging?

I think Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu is living in the paradise he has built for himself, and for the time being he does not plan to leave that seat for good.

***

In short, politics has infected Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu too.

He gave very political answers to every persistent question, in other words, he said something, but in fact he said nothing.

But did his appearance also say nothing?

You are right about that, in fact his posture said everything.

You could tell he was really upset. Somehow he believed that he was going to win, and this result has devastated him.

But everyone is sad!

I'm not going to say such things, I've already said what I'm going to say.

Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu is a good person, but it just doesn't work with him, I don't think there is any point in pushing him any further.

He should leave that seat before it is too late.

***

And who will replace him?

Mr. Imamoglu?

No, of course not, he has a lot of work to do in Istanbul first.

Didn't you see the result of the elections? The opposition was slightly ahead in Istanbul, but was this the rate it should have been despite all the services?

In short, there is still a lot to be done in Istanbul, let Mr. Imamoğlu concentrate on Istanbul.

Anyway, Mr. Imamoglu must first prove that he can lead a party like the CHP. These things are not easy!

***

So if not Mr. Imamoglu, then who?

Actually, I am stuck on this promise of paradise, can it really be true, to get a corner of paradise?

I mean, can someone help me, what do we need to do to book a corner of paradise now?

We are late in voting because the elections have passed.

Is there no other way?

Who should replace Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu?

Wait a minute, can't you see I'm a bit busy, I'm trying to book myself a corner of paradise!

Guys, if anyone can help, please let me know!

Love and respect to everyone from Moscow
