AFAD and Disaster Management are important in the context of our culture of solidarity and solidarity

The importance of relatively newly established institutions such as AFAD becomes apparent in natural disasters such as earthquakes. When such institutions literally 'fail', it gives the impression that our state has also failed. Undoubtedly, the State does not collapse just because an institution of the State fails to do its job properly, but AFAD should not cause the State to be late in getting our citizens back on their feet.

The borders between the countries of the world are being ignored, globalization is in full swing, bringing people closer to each other with all the pros and cons it brings. People all over the world are traveling on the road of life as if they were on a big ship. Whether we accept it or not, what happens in one corner of the world affects people at the other end!

The recent earthquake disaster has demonstrated this once again. Once again, we have seen that the culture of solidarity and solidarity is more important and necessary than ever in order for the ship to sail in harmony, peace and fearlessly carrying happy people. Today, the scope of this concept has expanded to include all of humanity.

Sharing blessings, nature, time, energy, the whole world is the first condition of being human. It has gained more meaning and importance than ever before. Societies where social cooperation is at the highest level live in harmony, order and peace. In such societies, individuals and institutions are balanced and happy. In societies where social cooperation is underdeveloped, the quality of life, harmony, peace, human health and many social developments lag behind. The sciences of sociology, psychology, philosophy and all religions recommend cooperation and solidarity, describe its numerous benefits and praise people who help and are in solidarity.

On this subject, I wrote the following in my notebook in which I recorded aphorisms:

A thinker, whose name I have not recorded, says "Hold the hand of the fallen, so that when you fall, you will find a hand to hold"

A Turkish Proverb gives the following information: "If Allah helps His servant, everything will work out."

The early periods of Turkish history were lived in Turkestan, in the Eurasian steppes. Turks constantly struggled to find pastures for their animals, to feed them, to care for them, and to sustain their own lives by ensuring their survival. They learned the necessity of cooperation and solidarity between the tents and between the tents while guiding, directing and managing large herds of animals, and in time they made this a part of their culture and traditions. Thus, the indispensable feature of the culture of social life in early Turkish societies was clearly recognized as the concept of solidarity. In other words, social cooperation and solidarity emerged as a necessity of the geography and struggle for life and developed as the national character of Turkish society.

With the War of Independence, the Turkish nation presented the best example of 'solidarity and solidarity' to the world history. Atatürk united our people in such a unity of thought and emotion that our homeland and nation gained its sovereignty with a miraculous salvation.

It was also a great chance for Turkish society to choose Islam, which attaches great importance to solidarity. In Islam, the understanding of charity and the implementation of this understanding are covered in great detail. Our religion shows us the way to give zakat, to speak kind words, to take hearts, to hold the hand of the fallen, in short, to give everything from wealth to love for the purpose of helping.

When we take a look at the advantages that cooperation brings to our people and society; the poor are protected. Negative feelings and thoughts are almost non-existent in people who are brought into society with help. Feelings such as grudge, hatred and enmity do not come to the surface. On the contrary, they are encouraged to help when they have the opportunity. If cooperation is practiced at a large level in a society, feelings of friendship, goodness and charity are strengthened for the society as a whole. This makes that society stronger.

Charity bridges the gap between the rich and the poor, the full and the hungry. Friendship is formed between them. In order for the Turkish society and our country to have an important place among the countries of the world, we must be in solidarity with unity, integrity and consensus as a society.

Solidarity and solidarity are the two indispensable sacred words of life. Turkish society and our youth will always live these two words. The recent earthquake has once again shown that Turkish society has been able to heal its wounds in unity and solidarity in difficult times. The state is expected to provide the necessary coordination and organizational services to this nation, which is aware of this characteristic. One of the greatest characteristics of the Turkish nation is that it has an organizational structure. For this reason, we need to keep alive the important institutions that have been established with their experiences from history and that make the state a state. They say that the success of institutions is evident in difficult situations.

The importance of relatively newly established institutions such as AFAD becomes evident in natural disasters such as earthquakes. When such institutions literally 'fail', it gives the impression that our state has also failed. Undoubtedly, the state does not collapse just because an institution fails to do its job properly, but AFAD should not cause the state to be late in getting our citizens back on their feet.

The Turkish people, who reached the earthquake zone almost before the state, would have been in a race to help the earthquake victims, to be with them, to meet their needs, which is a reflection of the character of the society, and so it has been. However, the state lagged behind our people. In fact, AFAD was expected to run ahead of our people, to guide them, and to organize all aid and evacuations first. Our people who sent thousands of trucks of materials to the earthquake zone need a 'proper' AFAD. We say that the state should keep the institutions alive, but the institutions should also do what is necessary. We hope that the necessary lesson will be learned from this disaster and AFAD and our Disaster Management Mechanism will be brought in line with what it should be.

The individuals of this nation who know these lands as homeland will keep the culture of solidarity and solidarity alive from eternity to eternity. State institutions should be the organizers and pioneers of this culture. This is not a difficult thing for the huge Turkish State.

Stay with respectful love.
