Being a Good Person

A person is “what he is at seven, he is at seventy”. It is indeed a very true and appropriate statement. Because it is our behaviors and habits that make us who we are.

What is Huy?

Huy is a form of behavior. It is a fact that this issue has a psychological side, but it is a phenomenon that should be examined sociologically as it affects the social life deeply. Let's take a look at this issue now. In psychology, humor is expressed as an innate behavior that expresses the personality of the individual. This situation is also expressed as fitra in Islamic philosophy and it is accepted that the fitra is in the human being from birth.

I am neither a psychologist nor an academic who has done an academic study on this subject! But I would like to convey to you this phenomenon, which is a sociological reality, which is based on the language of the street.

There is a saying among the people that we use when necessary in our friendly conversations and between the lines of our articles:

They say, "The fox gives up its skin, but does not give up its habits." If there is no error in simile, so are people. Let's add one more word to this, "He doesn't give up his temper". Human nature is today as it was yesterday.

He never gives up his good temper:

He never gives up his good temper. Even if mankind regrets and apologizes for what he did yesterday, he does not give up his behavior today and continues again for another time. Even if he realizes his mistake and apologizes for his mistake, even if he makes a promise, he cannot give up on his behavior.

For example, can a stingy person be generous and a lazy person hardworking? Although it is possible to change habits, it is very difficult. Character traits and habits ingrained in people do not change easily.

Most of us learn and accept that we cannot give up our habits. Because this is true for everyone and it is one of our realities in life. Moreover, people who look at life with blinders cannot be expected to give up their habits, they continue their lives like that. As we get older, we witness how true and true the aphorisms our ancestors said.

Is Change Possible?

People without courage and will are often closed to change. Change is not that easy. However, this does not mean that you or others cannot change. It is possible for any human being to change, even if it is very difficult, if genuine effort is made. There are several important factors that influence people's ability to make changes in their lives. These; it involves genetics, motivation and personality, let's say a little bit of time and neighborhood pressure. Change usually happens at a young age, and as the age progresses, it is close to impossible. But the phenomenon that I call and describe habit is free from change.

Change is actually a field of deep philosophical discussion and is one of the first issues that trigger philosophy. It is undoubtedly illogical to say that nothing has changed and that change is not possible. We have all learned by living that many things have changed in our lives, we are learning. From the moment we are born, we are in a constant state of change. From 7 to 70, we are running around in a press of change. However, there are also things that do not change in people. For example, this is what is called temperament.

No matter how hard one tries to discourage someone who has acquired a habit from doing something, a positive result is not easily achieved. There has not been and never will be a successful psychologist in this.

Changing one's behavior depends on one's own effort and inward calculation. This is a very difficult thing. There are people who are in a very high position, in office, but time reveals their true face. His habits, which he even thought to have changed, are suddenly revealed uncontrollably after he reaches that relatively high rank.

Bad Habits Can Be Controlled:

The following can be said for defective types who do not want to give up their bad habits and do not control them: First, get to know yourself and your inner world, believe me, this will be your greatest discovery in life. After that, try to cure your bad habits, because; no one else can help you. Meet good-natured people and spend time with them. We have a very beautiful proverb: "Tell me your friend and I will tell you who you are." Being with good-natured people is, in my opinion, the best treatment method for these diseased states.

I tried to focus on a different and yet difficult to explain word. Depending on where you look at this topic, you can get into a lot of areas to say and write. In this article, I wanted to deal with the subject mostly with reference to human sociology and to convey the essence of the concept of temperament to you based on my own life experience. In my opinion, the phenomenon of temperament should first of all be seen as a spiritual wealth. This is a behavior that cannot be achieved with any material wealth. It is very difficult for a person to acquire a good habit later, or it is not so easy to get rid of a bad habit. However, after every person wants and believes, he can control his bad habits and acquire good habits and give them continuity. Although he tends to return to his essence when he is idle, as long as he controls himself, the new habits of the person may not be noticed from the outside, except for very close ones.

On the other hand, people who came to this world with good habits should consider themselves really lucky. Because, in an environment where most of us make an effort to be 'kind', a person who opens his eyes to this world with an innate 'kindness' disposition is no doubt lucky and rich as he cannot give up this habit even if he wanted to.
