Institutionalism (2)
In the anecdote in the first part of the concept of institutionalism, we tried to explain how it is a huge formation to approach the motto "The customer is always right" in good faith. We continue the same subject with different anecdotes.

There is a myth, beyond how true or not, the perception that is formed is circulating as a myth. One of the best engineering schools in the world is Stanford University. The story is that it circulates from language to language where such an event happened;
The only child of a wealthy traditional family is studying at MIT.
With an untimely accident, the family loses their children,
Elderly parents are very sad,
The family goes to visit the MIT rector,
They are kept in the waiting room longer than the busyness of the Rector,
After a patient wait, the Rector finally accepts the family,
Families tell the situation of their children and say that they want to make a contribution to the university,
The Rector expresses his condolences and thanks,
For the perpetuation of the name of the family children,
They state that they want to build a laboratory on behalf of their children,
However, they declare that they will make the necessary donation, provided that the name of their children is given to the laboratory.
After stating that there are certain protocols for naming a place in a school like MIT,
The Rector states that this will not be possible without offending them with a very uncaring attitude,
In a final effort, the old father asks the rector "how much money will be needed to establish a university",
The rector, with a sarcastic attitude, says that 5 million dollars may be enough,
The old man turns to his wife and says, "Get up, lady, let's build our own university" and they leave,
They establish Stanford University with their own means, in the name of their beloved children,
Indeed, as they wish, this name becomes legendary and becomes eternal.
Believing is everything. There is no obstacle that can stop believers. Even if there are mountains, they cannot be an obstacle in front of perseverance and faith. As long as this belief is in the name of humanity and for a lofty purpose.
I can't help but mention this fact briefly. Education is indeed a very lofty and sacred subject. It is the same with our belief. The only subject that is accepted unconditionally in charity is education. All kinds of aid and support for educational purposes are accepted unconditionally, regardless of who or institution these aids are made without discrimination. This is so important that any aid to be made for educational purposes is to be accepted, regardless of which environment they are from. What a beautiful trait, isn't it?
“Nations value education as much as they value it.” For this reason, those who direct the education have to deal with the issue within the framework of social justice that will spread it over the long term. It takes a long time for the seed to sprout, become a tree and bear fruit. Picking the desired fruit is a matter of plan and program. Above all, social justice requires care and diligence.
Although the abolition of discrimination in the USA legally liberated minorities, it was not sufficient to prevent social explosions. According to the statistics, until the 1970s-80s, every black person was always involved in a crime until they reached the age of 20, and as a result, they were imprisoned for at least 1-2 years.
Studies have shown that under the conditions of that day, the annual prison expense of a person cost taxpayers $80 thousand a year. This amount turned out to be a huge figure of 160 thousand dollars for 2 years. The state decides to take some decisions as a result of its work. First of all, it puts the positive discrimination law into effect. Then, they decide to give $40 thousand gratuitous pre-university scholarships for educational purposes when they are younger, to the children of minorities who are likely to be involved in crime.
After this positive discrimination decision, the rate of being involved in crime until the age of 20 in minorities decreases from 80-90% to 20%. This support, which can only be used for educational purposes, bears fruit, albeit partially. The source of the disease is to dry the swamp.
General Motors (GM) is one of the few automobile companies in the world. An anecdote is told to describe farsightedness. In the 1950s, the CEO of GM allocates a large budget for a toy car from the snow obtained in one of those years. With this money, he distributes these toy cars to the children who are in primary school that day. At the end of the day, this expense costs the CEO's job, as the allocated budget is quite a lot. Spending is found out of place and untimely. The CEO writes a letter on the way and delivers it to the company's law firm to open it 15-20 years later. A long time passes and this letter is forgotten.
The company's sales rates progress every year within the framework of the targeted planning,
It has been 15-20 years since then,
Unexpected sales figures that are out of planned targets suddenly appear,
Company managers cannot give much meaning to this increase, which develops beyond the expected,
But since the increase is so great to be noticed, the subject is investigated in detail,
In the meantime, be locked in the safe.
n letters come to mind,
The subject is understandable when opened and read,
The far-sightedness of the CEO, who was fired for unnecessary spending, is revealed,
Those children who were handed out the toys fifteen or twenty years ago grew up and graduated from universities and started new jobs,
Since the toy car brand given to them when they were children became subconscious over the years;
The majority of these people who started their new jobs started to get the reality of this toy car brand that they dreamed of,
The unexpected increase in sales figures is the result of this nostalgic dream placed in the subconscious 15-20 years ago.
It is interesting, is not it? A manager's approach to the future of his company with such a vision. I guess this is what is called farsightedness.
It is not necessary to read bookshelves full of books and become an academic to make a difference. Entrepreneurship and quick wit make lasting touches. This shows how much that manager owns his company.
From a different point of view, this anecdote about a toy is significant. I watched a movie years ago.
The subject of the movie was about the management of a company that produces toys,
The toys made appealed to the 8-12 age group,
One of the employees brought his 11-year-old child to work, whom he could not leave alone at home due to the school holidays.
He told him to sit in his office and left a few toys with him to keep him busy.
The father, who stopped by the child he had left at the office during lunch break, was shocked,
The child made some changes in the toys he left with him to pass the time,
Dad got a little angry.
My son, why did you break these toys?
Now while I'm reproaching what to say,
The boy was saying because his old version was wrong, I fixed it the way I wanted,
The father was a little more angry,
The factory owner, who was passing by by chance, hears your father's loud reproaches,
Wondering what is going on here, what are these shouts, he asks,
The father shyly explains the situation,
The boss looks carefully at the changes made and turns to the child,
He asks the boy, "Is it better like this?"
The child confidently explains why he made the change.
The boss leaves the office without getting angry with the boy.
In the intervening few days, the boss discusses the issue with his designers. It does some trial surveys. Then he takes a decision. He calls the boy's father to his office.
He asks what is your child doing, is he okay?
Dad is worried and again apologizes for the past issue,
Father is worried
He says he can pay for those toys for compensation if asked,
Boss says no no no need,
He says only you take that child and stop by me.
Meanwhile, the father is even more worried and has trouble making sense of what happened. Since he accepted to pay for the damage done, he cannot help but ask himself why they want the child. Since there is nothing to do, he does not want to upset the child too much anymore.
The father goes to work with the child the next day and goes to the boss,
The boss takes the boy with him and takes him for a ride on the production line,
The child makes some inappropriate comments so that it can be this way or that,
The boss listens carefully,
He tells the father that his child can come to the factory during his vacation,
The child comes to the factory during his entire vacation,
The boss informs the employees that the child is free and can do whatever he wants,
Meanwhile, every move of the child is carefully monitored by an expert team and reported to the boss.
From time to time, the boss himself accompanies the child.
This social experiment is carefully studied and analyzed by different teams of experts.
.............
The boss finally decides and makes the boy the General Manager of the factory. All the designs and toys made are corrected as the child wishes. Interestingly, the demands for toys increase. Since the target audience for the toys is children, the suggestions of the new General Manager appeal to them more. The boss discovered the situation and caught a good competitive atmosphere with this interesting approach.
Courageous decisions taken at the appropriate place and time create opportunities that can be "lifeblood" for the business or institution. It is essential that the vision to be created in today's challenging competitive environment is based on the principles of entrepreneurship, healthy risk, justice and merit. Every job should be given to its people, and there is no doubt that there is a person for every job.
In order to succeed, it is necessary to “believe, trust and be hopeful”.
We will continue the subject of institutionalism with different anecdotes...
