Social Diseases
Do you know who I am?
What kind of a point of view is that?
Actually, I think it is a disease. And in countries like ours, it has now evolved from an individual to a social disease.
Now, some of them have found an uncle for themselves, they have put their backs to an uncle or someone at a higher level, and they walk around saying do you know who I am?
Power poisoning! I think it is a disease of society. It's not individual, it's spread to a certain group of people.
I'm not a doctor, but there are no guides. This is my diagnosis. It's a social disease.
Another social disease is distrust. No one trusts anyone. Because now everyone behaves however it suits them for their own personal benefit. Of course, they all have something they trust. Nothing will happen to them anyway. They know it. That's why they act however it suits them at that moment.
Another one is the collective decline in morality. Rude speech, contempt for others. Again, this is now a social disease.
Even on the screens, we now come across supposedly educated people who, if they are pushed a little bit, immediately foul their mouths, who do not hesitate to make insulting remarks to the other person by exceeding the limits of respect.
All of them are the results of the tension in society.
Another one is lying. It is now the era of taking refuge in lies at the level of society and coming out on top like olive oil. Lies abound, lies in the mouths of wise cadres who are supposed to set an example for the society. Therefore, it spreads to other members of society. Again, taking refuge in lies has become a social disease. Moreover, those who believe their own lies are not few. Of course, the fish stinks from the head, just like the imam and the congregation.
I also observe Hasan the duck syndrome, the disease of taking offense has also spread. You say something, it has nothing to do with it, but you said it, you actually meant it, at least you implied it! And then the "do you know who I am?" disease. It's a schizophrenic case on a societal level.
Nobody thinks anymore about how is their neighbor doing, does he need anything? How can I help? Maybe the economic situation in the country doesn't allow this, I don't know what the reason is, but I feel like it's not just the economic conditions. All these reasons I mentioned have a common effect for this situation.
When our respect for each other decreases, love on an individual level also decreases.
But what is in the heart? A peaceful society, they say goodness is contagious, I wish we could be a society where everyone supports each other. An ideal society. Wouldn't that be nice? But unfortunately not everything is as it is in our hearts.
No! You are this and I am that! There's a world of difference between us. I think this way, you think that way! We're from different worlds.
Just like the old Yeşilçam movies, like the rich girl and the poor boy. I guess this divisive point of view will never change. Even though you might think I am being too pessimistic, this is really how I feel right now. Because the developments and events do not give me any hope.
So is there no cure for all the ills of this society?
How are we going to fix this society? At this rate this society will fall apart, how can we keep it together?
I think first we need to think of a cure for this "do you know who I am?" disease.
What is the cause of this disease? Is it the uncles on whose backs those who think this way rely? Maybe. So we will prevent uncles. No one will be anyone's uncle.
Is it possible to do that? It's not easy.
Maybe it's bullying. Mafia order.
What happened to the old Turkey?
Maybe it was always like this, we just didn't realize it, I don't know.
But this is the age of technology after all, shouldn't everything be in the public eye? Aren't bullies at least afraid that their deeds will be exposed?
But when they have an uncle to lean on, and when they become a bully, they break down the walls of fear.
Do you know who I am? It's a disease that really needs to be cured.
How is it that the state cannot identify such bullies?
How is it that there is not a single frame of footage of a murder that resulted in the death of a musician?
How come the cameras that see the exact scene of the murder are broken? Whose hand is this, that can reach everywhere, that can break even the cameras right on the spot?
What a pity for Onur Şener. And the beautiful children he left behind. Didn't you have any conscience? What did you commit this murder for? For nothing!
Is this the only incident? Who knows what happens every day. It's mostly because of the "do you know who I am?" disease. It's a social disease, certainly not an individual one!
Everything will have to be reorganized from the beginning, otherwise it won't get better. I wish there was a reset button, we could press it and society could return to factory settings.
But this society is not a computer.
It is not so easy to put back together the social order that has been messed up. Who knows how long it will take.
All these years of mistakes have brought us to this situation. How many times more time is needed to fix it.
Moreover, no one is aware of what such mistakes have actually brought us to, no one realizes to what extent the society has become sick. No one realizes how society has been transformed from the inside all these years.
Still in the polls, when asked who will fix the situation, a large number of people point to those who have brought us to this state. What they don't know is that the problems that are visible when we talk about the bad situation are just the tip of the iceberg. There are much bigger problems in the depths. We are afflicted with social diseases, who can save us from these diseases, even pollsters do not ask such a question.
As I said, everything will have to be reorganized from the beginning. I'm sorry, there is a lot of damage.
But I don't want to be pessimistic, I hope that one day we will believe in a beautiful future together as a whole society.
Love and regards to everyone from Moscow
