"True story"
The story of the discovery of the original DIVANI LUGATI TURK, which was a gift to TURKISH CULTURE by KAŞGARLI MAHMUT, who lived in the 1000s during the KARAHAN state, which made the Turkish language unique, and the story of the presentation of the original to the use of the Turkish Nation is sad and thought-provoking. I offer my respect and love to those who work for the cause. Nations without language and literature will sooner or later be buried in the Dumpster of history. HISTORY is full of exemplary examples of this. Let's protect our language and our works.
HERE IS THE STORY:
DİVAN-Ü LÜGATİ - The Importance and Presence of TURK; Ali EMİR-İ Efendi from Diyarbakır visits second-hand booksellers every week. A woman brings a book to Sahaf BURHAN and asks him to sell it for thirty liras. Burhan Bey says that the book will not cost that much, but he agrees, let's see, maybe it will be sold. Ali EMİR-İ Efendi asks if there is a new book. Burhan Effendi:
There is a book, but its owner wants thirty liras, and tells what happened. He says that this book will expire the next day and that the old woman will come to get the book.
As soon as he reads the name of the book he is holding, Ali EMİR-İ Efendi feels like he is going to faint. The book in his hand is DİVANU LUGATI -TÜRK, the most valuable work of the Turkish language, which is unique in the world. This book is not worth thirty, even thirty thousand liras. Ali EMİR-İ Efendi, who quickly recovered himself, said:
It's a messy work, I wonder if it's okay(?), Its author was a man named KAŞGARLI... Who he is, what he is, is not clear. Mehmet Ağa in yellow boots. However, it is a work of art. The council has offered ten liras, and I will give fifteen liras, he says. Burhan Bey: If the book were mine, I would give it to you. The owner definitely wants thirty lira. Ali EMİR-İ Efendi said, "If you are going to take it, you will be doing a woman a favor, if not, I will give it back to its owner." Now, the way things have changed, DER. A woman must be helped. I accepted, he says, and says he bought the book, but he only has fifteen liras with him. He leaves immediately to find money, finds thirty liras and comes and buys the book. Ali Emiri Efendi explains the value of the book to his friends and colleagues as follows: “This is not a book, it is the country of TURKISTAN. It's not Turkistan, it's the whole CIHAN. TURKISH, TURKISH language will gain another shine thanks to this book. He says that what Sayyibuyih's book is in the Arabic language, this is his brother in the Turkish language. A book like this has never been written in the Turkish language before. If this book should be given real value, the treasures of the world will not be enough. With this book, Mr. There is a similarity between YUSUF. His friends sold YUSUF for a few coins. But then it was sold in EGYPT by its weight in ore. Burhan also sold this book to me for thirty-three liras. But I say I wouldn't trade it for diamonds and emeralds that weigh several times more.
Here is the story of a sad and thought-provoking true story. Now, this book is shown to the visitors in a glassed enclosure at the Millet Library, located within the borders of Istanbul's Fatih district. Let this story be a memory from me to you if you happen to be there one day... I say stay with RESPECT and love.
