There are Two Types of People

Technology has advanced a lot, but people have not changed, some like to stand out and some like to stand back. Some people like to do more than one thing at the same time.

When I was in school, someone always used to say that people are divided into two.

No, I'm not talking about good people and bad people. Of course, this distinction was included in his distinctions, but he divided people into two around whatever subject we were talking about.

That's the kind of distinction I'm thinking of now.

Some people like to get into someone's camera, others like to put people in a frame.

If we generalize what I'm talking about, some people like to show others how they live their lives, how they live, for example, they put their photos on Instagram all the time, or if a photo is being taken, they want to be included.

Others like to stand back more instead of talking about themselves, maybe they like to listen more in a conversation, or they like to stand aside and observe what's going on.

I think I like to share my ideas, but I am also a good listener. I like to listen more to whoever is talking, though it depends on the subject matter, I don't know which group I fit in better.

However, I don't have the desire to pick up a camera and record what is in the frame. After a while I get bored of sitting and observing people.

Although I did work at a photographer's shop when I was a kid, so taking pictures is an occupation I have loved since I was a little girl.

Sometimes you take a photo and you don't realize it at the time, but later a detail in the frame catches your attention. I don't know if this has happened to you too.

I was going through old albums recently. A picture from my childhood caught my attention, there used to be wooden chairs in houses. You know, the kind you find in outdoor tea gardens. My brother is sitting on such a wooden chair with me on his lap. Everything was really different in the old days, even what we wore was much different. There were baggy pants, for example.

Another photo shows an old TV, one of those tube TVs. Now they are all thin.

We have one in a room, one of those new ones that hang on the wall, but I don't know when was the last time I turned it on and looked at something. No, not one of those new ones, the ones with the internet, it's actually quite old, we bought it who knows how many years ago.

Now we watch whatever we want on the internet. Watch it whenever you want, pause it, play it, fast forward it, watch it again. Watch what you want, you don't have to watch what you don't want. You can watch a live broadcast if you want. No matter where you are in the world, almost all channels now broadcast over the internet. Watch how you want.

Technology has advanced a lot, but people haven't changed, some like to stand out and some like to stand back.

Some people like to do more than one thing at the same time.

My little girl is one of them. Although mine is from what they call the "Z" generation. Young people are all the same. They were born into technology. They are not like us.

For example, they watch a movie while talking to you. On the other hand, my daughter is texting a friend on her phone.

Sometimes I get angry, I ask her if she understood what I said, she says she did, I check her somehow, I see that she really understood, she did what I said.

I try to share with you the issues that are constantly on my mind, I think I have a deep-seated pessimism about the future, that's why I share my ideas.

I want a good future for my children, because I really don't see the state of our country today in a good way. So many ridiculous things have been done, especially in recent years.

I don't want to tell the children that we couldn't do better, so you should do better. I feel like we should leave a better country to our young people.

But on the other hand, when I see that they can do many things at the same time, I feel a sense of relief.

Really, the new generations are very different from us.

I guess the current ones don't really fit into the distinction I made.

Since they can do many things together, they can be both like this and like that.

Do you think people are really divided into two or is it not that easy to make a distinction?

What do you think, at least for the new generations?

The new generations are better than us, aren't they? Yes, I think they are!

So I think we should leave a better country to the next generations.

Love and respect to everyone from Moscow
