Nobility of Black Color
Today, the color black represents nobility, elegance, power, authority, seriousness, distance, protection, intelligence and intellectuality, but also carries the effects of the dark emotions brought by history.
If colors had a language, they would definitely tell a lot. But aren't we humans who attribute meaning and value to them? Each color has a different place in our lives, mythology, epics and stories. Even if we don't talk about them, they tell us a lot.
Among colors, I give black a special place. Because I believe that black has a big place in our lives. Throughout history, the color black represents darkness versus light, night versus day, and also represents colorlessness versus color. Although history has kept black as a color in itself for centuries, scientific developments have excluded black from the world of colors.
Black has always represented mystery and the unknown. With Newton's invention, which left its mark on the 17th century, the new color scheme was determined as red, yellow, blue, purple, orange and indigo. As a result of this scientific study, black and white colors were removed from the classical color scale (plane), and past color theories lost their importance. In this new order, there is no longer any room for black or white. In short, black and white are no longer colors.
In this sense, we can say that perhaps white was luckier than black because it is a color that is somehow related to the color spectrum. Because white contains all the colors. But unfortunately, black was completely left out of both the color spectrum and the color world. Even though we could not accept this situation, scientific studies accepted this situation as such.
On the other hand, although scientists excluded black, which they expressed as the absence of color, from the world of colors, after a certain period of time, artists embraced black again. Over time, large masses have accepted black as one of the colors of daily life. Black has become one of the colors preferred by many people today. As one of those who set my heart on this situation, I wrote my "black-white" poem. At the end of the article, those who want can listen to this poem of mine.
Today, the color black represents nobility, elegance, power, authority, seriousness, distance, protection, intelligence and intellectuality, but also carries the effects of the dark emotions brought by history. Black is widely perceived as the color of death, mourning and sadness; It is also the color of the unknown, the unseen, fear, depression, pessimism, evil forces, secrets and mystery. In other words, it is like the expression of the dark side of our lives.
The messages given by the color black, which has a great place in our daily lives, include not only its historical connotations, but also what the society and culture we live in has taught us. The ups and downs that the color black has experienced throughout history have also affected the perception and use of this color. For example, black color of official cars gives the message that the person inside is important, powerful and respected. The fact that bodyguards and senior security officers generally wear black indicates danger and the power of this person. One of the most interesting information about black is that it protects people against emotional stress caused by external factors. Black, the symbol of power, helps us hide our resentments, insecurity and lack of self-confidence by allowing us to distance ourselves from the stimulating factors in the outside world.
This social perception of black, representing authority, power, independence and discipline, has caused it to be one of the colors frequently used in marketing. Even when we talk about the universe, the mystery of "black holes" is always somewhere in our minds.
Darkness, which is the beginning of the universe, and light, which enables life to exist, were the most determining factors in the lives of our ancestors. For this reason, the historical beginning of the color black occurred with the phenomenon of darkness and is associated with night in almost every culture. Our ancestors lived in open areas before the discovery of fire. These open areas made it difficult to notice dangers due to darkness at night. The fear created within us by the darkness of the night and open spaces has also triggered the fear of the unknown. The human species, which is quite defenseless in open spaces and darkness compared to other creatures, began to live in caves over time. It is as if he took refuge from the darkness in the pitch darkness of the closed area under his control. Taking shelter from this feeling of defenselessness and fear, the caves gradually became the place to escape from the struggle in the light of day. The sense of security provided by caves, which were among the first settlements, against external threats has been a solution to the shelter problem, which is a very important need for the continuation of the existence of the human species.
As places of coming to life, change and transformation, caves were also the oldest places of worship of people, and many of the gods and heroes in mythological stories emerged from caves. We use black = black a lot, our stories, fairy tales. The color black has also had an important place in our bees and exaggerated rituals. Even though we know that it is a superstition, there are many of us who feel anxious when a black cat passes in front of us, thinking that it will bring bad luck. The 17th century was a period of many wars, conflicts and economic problems in Europe. During this period, called the Dark Century, witchcraft books attracted attention; Black, which was the symbol of devil and evil in the past, has begun to be seen as a fearful color again. During the Middle Ages, black cats were equated with black magic. All these beliefs are the origins of today's superstition that black cats bring bad luck, but in essence, the fear attached to the color black is related to the connotations of darkness.
Meanwhile, black, which is associated with rebellion and rebellion, has become the main color of movements defending different social orders in politics. Representing this, black flags also came to the fore in social riots. Fascist, nihilist and anarchist groups that emerged from time to time in Europe were identified with the color black because they represented contradiction. During World War II, Italian fascist leader Mussolini's security forces wore all-black uniforms.
It is also a fact that colors affect our personality traits. Since black is a strong color, people who love black are strong, self-confident, mysterious, stylish, authoritarian and determined. That's why they like to control their partners. However, it takes some time to understand and solve black lovers because they are secretive. Interestingly, this distant and inconspicuous attitude makes them even more attractive to other people. For them, wit, intelligence and respect are very important.
People who love black can have many contradictory behaviors. While portraying a traditional, conservative and serious image; On the one hand, they can create a more worldly and complex atmosphere. Leader-spirited black lovers complete every job down to the smallest detail and make sure it is done properly. They are determined and hardworking. They may have difficulty in business life, especially in team work, because they do not like interference in their decisions and like to keep control. In teamwork, they may impose their own ideas on their colleagues, and may even become an authoritarian figure by putting too much pressure on them. For this reason, they may need to balance their authoritarian side a bit.
Those who love the color black try to protect themselves from the negativity of the outside world by building an invisible wall between themselves and people with their distanced stance in business life as well as in their private lives. For this reason, black color can be defined as a comfort zone for some.
with respectful love
