Where is Bangkok?

Bangkok, the largest city and capital of Thailand, is one of the world's tourism centers. Due to the pandemic process, it has recently started to open its borders with various restrictions. Daily scheduled flights from our country to this city have been going on for many years. Vaccinated people can travel around the city without being exposed to any quarantine. It is expected that all restrictions will be lifted and return to their old days in the near future.

One of the most important features of this city is that it has two seasons and they are described as “hot-humid/very hot-very humid”. No matter what season you are in this city, in your geography; Although it is convenient for you to come without a coat and sweater, I recommend you to prepare knowing that you will always encounter rain during the day. Bangkok is a place where extremely rainy, humid and uncomfortably hot weather awaits you during certain months of the year, especially due to the monsoon season (April-September). For this reason, it has the distinction of being the hottest capital city in the world.

There are restaurants and cuisine options for every region of the world in the city, and local dishes made on the streets are also offered to people in an extremely intense way. If you do not have a special problem about hygiene, I recommend you to try it, especially to drink coconut milk. Preferring the cooked ones in the foods sold on the streets will prevent you from being uncomfortable. There is an extremely wide range of options in terms of shopping; In addition to extremely stylish and high quality shopping centers, normal multi-storey shopping centers, especially night open markets, are extremely popular areas.

Reasonable rates should be used when negotiating. The rates stated for Chinese cities are not in question here, and they differ considerably in terms of quality. Especially for wood products, there is a wide and affordable option. Jewelery options made of precious stones, especially products made of sapphire, are possible and affordable in the commercial area located in the regions close to the riverbank.

Another thing that comes to mind when Bangkok is mentioned is the possibility of massage. Foot, body, head, etc. All kinds of massages are available. Their prices are extremely reasonable, and even in open markets, foot massage is performed on a chair for those who are tired. There is also a very hard type of massage called Thai massage. On the other hand, I strongly recommend that you buy orchid flowers to take home when you return from here. If you buy orchids from the florist or the riverside flower market on the last day and indicate that you are going a long distance, they will box them with water-filled tubes to the roots. If you file the stems with a utility knife and renew the water every 2-3 days after you come home, your live orchids will decorate your room in different colors and give a different atmosphere for 1-2 months.

Places to visit:

The most important places to visit in the city center are the temple with the great Buddha statue and the palace area where the king resided. You can already see many small temples and places of worship in every corner of the city. People come here from the early hours of the morning and leave important materials (clothes, fruit, money, etc.) here after the worship, and these are collected by religious officials in the evening.

The king is very much loved and valued by the Thai people. Even once; I had seen groups of people riding bicycles, used by people of all ages, as if all of Thailand had ridden a bicycle because of the king's birthday, while walking on the roads with songs all day long. The roads were closed for vehicles, and we sometimes had to wait 30 minutes on the roads to cross the road as pedestrians, on roads with only people with bicycles.

In addition, you can take the famous canal cruise and other activities with the tours that you can easily obtain from the hotels you are in. Many Buddha statues that you can see in almost all parts of the country are made of gold and other metals. There are nightclubs in this region where all kinds of shows are presented to the audience, and they are places to enjoy.
