Berlin-2
When you enter through the Brandenburger gate, you will be greeted by a fairly large area, surrounded by many cafes and restaurants. After relieving your tiredness by resting a little here, you can continue the section as “Museum Island”. On your way to this region, you will pass through the open-air museum, which symbolizes the practices against Jewish people during the Second World War. Known as "Holocaust-Mahnmal", if you have a history buff like me, you are likely to lose time. Right across from this building, the Führer Bunker is the bunker where Hitler committed suicide. Numerous areas for near and far historical developments in every part of the city are heavily used by visitors.
If you prefer to walk to Museum Island, you will have the chance to visit the biggest Synagogue in Berlin along the way. The building of the Synagogue, which has very modest interior decoration, has remarkable features from the outside. It is impossible not to be noticed on the main road. As the name suggests, Museum Island; It is the place where many museums open their doors to visitors, and the place where there is an intense visitor queue is the Pergamonmuseum, the Pergamon Museum. Located on the "World Heritage" list of UNESCO, this riverside region welcomes its guests with its magnificent structure and rich collections.
Since it is important for me to visit the Pergamon Museum, which is closely related to our country, I gave priority here. As I visited the museum, I did not prevent the formation of extremely strange and sad feelings inside me. It was very interesting to me that a huge temple was built and exhibited with archaeological pieces brought from many parts of our country by various means and roads. I think you will agree with me with the visuals I will present to you with my article. If I continue to write more on this subject, I am ending this topic here because I cannot predict where my article will end. But I can't help but write this, if you don't take care of your history and the beauties you have, others can take care of it very well.
Not far from this area, the Berliner Dom (Berlin Cathedral) is a place where people show great interest with its magnificent architecture and a very large lawn in front of it. During your visit here, especially in the summer, you will witness that the area in front of the cathedral is crowded and people spend time with various activities by sitting on the ground. You can enter the cathedral by paying a fee of 5 Euros and you can watch the city of Berlin from the terrace.
The famous TV tower in the city center and the Marienkirche building located right next to it are places of great interest. This building is very old and still stands. It has remarkable features with its interesting architecture in Gothic style. When you go to the place where the TV tower is, you can easily reach it if you follow the tourist groups. The "Neptun" statue in the pool in the central area, which is also very close to this building, is not left alone by the tourist groups.
You need to allocate half a day for the “Schlossgarten Charlottenburg” Palace, which is located in the exit direction from the city center. It is one of the places you must visit with its extremely majestic view and its famous very large garden. Many interesting artifacts are exhibited inside the palace and can be visited for a fee. However, the garden is free to visit and is frequently used by the public and tourists. Therefore, it is always crowded.
When you come to Berlin, the famous Berlin Wall is one of the places you will not return without visiting. The wall, which was built to prevent escape from East Germany to West Germany before the unification during the Cold War, is currently exhibited with the remaining parts of the city. The visit to be made by climbing the watchtower in the visited region will be more meaningful. In this way, you will have the chance to better understand the general image of the wall and what happened at that time.
Apart from the city center of Berlin, the Royal Summer Villa and its facilities in the lake will also take its place in your minds as a place where you will have extremely different views. After arriving at the parking lot by car, the area can be reached by sea vehicles such as small landing craft, and you can experience the different atmosphere of marsh and reed areas by walking among the peacocks. The buildings, which were built for the purpose of resting and hunting for kings, have extremely different appearances.
In Berlin, as in all of Germany, there are food and drink opportunities that will appeal to all segments and cultures. Especially in summer conditions, beer gardens are preferred by people in an extremely crowded way. In the cafes you can find every step of the way, you can drink delicious cakes and snacks and all kinds of coffee that will leave a good taste on your palate. Especially if you are visiting during Octoberfest or other festivals, varieties of sausage and chicken are waiting for you at the stalls set up in open areas and squares.
There is not much to be said for nightlife. Berlin is famous for its nightlife, with unlimited entertainment for all walks of life. Lots of nightclubs, bars etc in the city centre. venues await their visitors.
For accommodation, all kinds of facilities, from hotel chains to hostels, depending on the number of stars, serve depending on their financial dimensions. But the other thing that I cannot pass without mentioning to you is the fact of breakfast. Which city in Germany you go to, no matter how many star hotels or hostels you stay, if your stay includes breakfast, definitely choose the one with this option. If you have a strict breakfast habit like me, this will be a great opportunity for you. Because the bread varieties offered for breakfast are extremely rich. The first thing that attracts attention is the rich bread selection from sunflower seeds to black cumin, from sourdough to baguettes. In addition, egg and sausage options, cheese and butter varieties, jam and nutella etc. A perfect breakfast awaits you when tea/coffee is included in desserts, croissants and other pastries. The breakfast detail, which I crave even as I write, is a separate ritual for me during my visits to Germany.
I wish you pleasant travels.
