Silence of the Lambs
Silence of the Lambs is a film full of suspense and horror about what it feels like to be a woman coveted by men. And a similar tension is currently unfolding in the Greater Middle East region.
What a film!
Terrific acting, incredible script and marvellous filming.
A truly remarkable film that won 5 Oscars, including the main actors Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins.
The Silence of the Lambs is a film full of suspense and horror about what it feels like to be a woman coveted by men.
If you haven't seen it, make sure you do.
And a similar tension is currently taking place in the Greater Middle East.
From Libya to Syria, from Karabakh to Afghanistan, we should keep in mind that there are those who covet the region.
Let us evaluate the silence of the lambs from this perspective.
In the Karabakh crisis between Azerbaijan and Armenia, let us look at the reason why Iran, which is pro-Armenia, does not make high-pitched comments.
Iran has close relations with Armenia. If we add the domestic political discomfort caused by the fact that the north of Iran, namely the Tabriz region, is known as South Azerbaijan and the majority of the population here is composed of Azeri Turks, it is inevitable for Iran to support Armenia in a high tone, but so far no harsh attitude and condemnation against Azerbaijan has been seen.
In fact, a similar situation also applies to Russia. Ultimately, Russia is the most important actor that can prevent the two former members of the Soviet Union from going to war with each other. However, so far we have seen neither carrots nor sticks from Russia towards both sides. Although one might think that Russia is punishing Armenia's pro-Western, especially pro-US policies, the situation is not that simple.
When we look at the situation of Greece and Armenia;
Both of them are countries that are trying to be right when they are wrong, that are not aware of what will happen to them because they are not satisfied with what they have, and that are running step by step towards becoming pawns. Two countries that cannot see and understand that the US is making policies for its own benefit and are likely to suffer a lot in the future due to these wrong policies.
Both Russia and Iran seem to have realised that the EU is behind one and the US is behind the other.
The US policy within the scope of the Greater Middle East Project is to change and transform Syria, Iraq and Iran. There is the establishment of a Free Kurdistan, as the US calls it. The US aims to control the natural resources of the Caucasus. There is a policy of containment of Russia. There is a desire to stop China. And so on and so on.
While the US is trying to contain Russia, it is also trying to contain Turkey and not to let it grow too much. It is aware of the emerging Turkish political, economic and military power in Eurasia.
The US is interested in Russia and Turkey coming into conflict with each other, the deterioration of relations between the two countries and their being on opposite fronts. Therefore, it should not be difficult to see that Iran is included in this equation, in other words, it should not be difficult to understand that the US wants this trio to be at odds with each other.
The situation becomes a little clearer when we add the US efforts to transform Turkey, to change it, to collapse its economy and to harm and teach it a lesson through various terrorist organisations.
Turkey's full support to Azerbaijan at the highest level, with its government and opposition, is inevitable. After all, other countries know very clearly that Turkey and Azerbaijan are two states and one nation.
When we add China's One Belt One Road project, the main reason for Iran and Russia's silence on the operations in Karabakh becomes clear.
As long as the US does not change its policies, it is inevitable that Russia, Iran and Turkey will act together much more.
Yes, Putin may not like Pashinyan, but in the end he will not leave Armenia alone, but if he intervenes too early, it may create problems between Turkey and Russia, which is the main reason why Armenia attacked Azerbaijan in the past and now uses non-state elements in Karabakh, that is, why it is left by the strings of western imperialism.
Therefore, the main reason for Russia's delay or reluctance to put its weight behind Armenia is that it understands the game of the imperialist powers that are behind Armenia and spoil it. Just as Iran, seeing the same game, has kept its silence and has not supported Armenia from the top.
As a result, it would be useful to understand what is going on in the background and in the big picture, instead of evaluating the issue based on the apparent reasons.
Azerbaijan's taking advantage of this conjuncture, reclaiming its occupied territories and ensuring the unity of Turkey and other Turkic states geographically, economically and politically will be the most important gains of this process.
A word of advice to US policy makers. In this region, act together with Turkey, not with anti-Turkey organisations. Stop supporting terrorist organisations, stop being silent about what they do, and fight against terrorism together with Turkey, just as Turkey does together with you. Stop using terrorism for your own benefit. Do not remain silent against injustice. Use your aircraft against terrorist nests, not against the aircraft of your own partners. Be the leader of a better and fairer world.
When we add the silence on the downing of a Turkish UCAV by a US aircraft, the silence of the lambs intensifies. Let's see if this silence will defeat the wolves like Hannibal.
