The Enemy at the Gates: "The Syrian Pekakas"
Enemy At The Gates Every time I look across the Syrian border, I get these two words, "The Enemy at the Gates." You remember what I mean, you know, this is the Hollywood film "Enemy at the Gates," in which the Soviet soldier describes the turning point of the Second World War, the Battle of Stalingrad.
I write from the zero point of the border:
For the last two days, I have been making both military and human observations at the zero point of the border, where hands are on the alert, dear readers. As a matter of fact, as I have done in the previous four operations, I am here to join this enthusiasm. While the people, the Army of Suriye Mprovince (SMO) and the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) are locked in Turkey's fifth operation, you are swimming around in peace and tranquility. You see the joy of planting our farmers kissing their hands at the zero point of the border and you want to breathe the same air as them. Everyone is strong in their work. On the way to Kilis via Kırıkhan-Hassa, everywhere in the Hatay-Amik plain is lush, as the famous saying goes, "the middle of the mountains is connected" and you feel the olive groves inside. The goal of not leaving the soil empty was adopted, the newly planted olive seedlings added a different beauty to the plain, and our farmer brothers who turned to fruit growing because it was more profitable in small lands took care not to leave even an inch of land empty. Long story short, despite all the economic adversities experienced, you see that our farmer is determined tomaintain the enthusiasm of sowing and you are happy.
As you know, two years after Turkey joined NATO, parallel to the aggressive doctrine, in 1954, the fertile land in the hands of the Turkish farmers was expropriated, and this land, which was expropriated with a superior superiority , was mined. The land taken from them and mined was so large that by a rough calculation it was equivalent to 23,000 football fields. (1)
Clearance of Mined Land Between Syria and Turkey :
So whatshould the farmer who kissed that hand have done? Because the land they had cultivated for centuries had been taken away from them. Expatriate appeared, to the local children. In order to make a living, the local children had to go abroad. Can you imagine their children being reduced to the level of farmers and seasonal workers who have been denied the freedom to cultivate their own land. What shall we say, absence in abundance. Now they are waiting with hope for the day when the mined areas, which will be completed in seven years, will be cleaned up and given to them as soon as possible, which will have a useful life of 75 years. The fields have been mined to such an extent that Turkey has risen to the position of the third country with the highest number of mines in the world. Do you know who is in front of Turkey? Only two countries. One is Finland from Europe and Bangladesh from Asia that have now applied to NATO. Let's give one more figure, Turkey is the 8th in the world in the size of mined land. But what about cleaning? Unfortunately, cleaning activities are so slow. According to the 2018 report of the Landmine and Cluster Munition Monitor, an organization established in Switzerland that follows developments in the world in this field, Turkey should have cleared its mines by March 1, 2014, having signed international agreements forthe clearance of mines. (2)
Unfortunately, after requesting an additional period of 8 years in 2014, Turkey was only able to clear 51 million square meters of the 215 million square meters of mined land by 2022. Roughly a quarter. The villagers, who say the mines are out of life, feel that the days are getting closer when their children, who went to exile as seasonal workers, will return to their homes. "If we plant here, we will not have an import problem in wheat." They exclaim. It's really a matter of trust. You know, after seeing that the 911-kilometer border, which was once said to have turned into a colander, has become much safer withthe necessary 837-kilometer-long wall. At first glance, let's just say that this wall, which was created by the addition of 7-ton concrete blocks, stopped 8 million potential refugees from Syria. Built under the leadership of the governorships of Sın ır, each of these rows weighed 7 tons, 2 meters wide, designed 4 meters high, 3 meters of concrete and 1 meter of reinforced lattice wire mesh, you understand how magnificent it is when you go close. Of course, this wall is the backbone of safety, but not only this wall, but the dominant points of the land are reinforced withwatchtowers, patrol roads that provide physical security.
Enemy At The Gates
Every time I look across the Syrian border, I get these two words, "The Enemy at the Gates." You remember what I mean, you know, this is the Hollywood film "Enemy at the Gates," in which the Soviet soldier describes the turning point of the Second World War, the Battle of Stalingrad. I don't know if you like watching World War II movies like me? In fact, I enjoy watching it, and I am most interested in Hitler's "Operation Barborassa" against Russia . It is the largest ground operation in world history, which Hitler launched to invade the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941, breaking the non-aggression pact he signed with the Soviets in August 1939 for the wars to be fought in the west as a result of his internal line maneuver. Indeed, the operation in which Germany, with over 3 million soldiers, opened a front of three thousand two hundred kilometers from north to south and began to advance 65 kilometers a day. Terrific. German troops began advancing towards Leningrad, Moscow and Kiev against some 3 million Soviet troops on the eastern front. Six million uniformed military personnel. Here's another detail. Although the Soviets had twice as many fighter jets and tanks as the Germans, most Soviet aircraft were destroyed on the first day of the operation. Soviet tanks, which were among the infantry as a classic battle tactic, were not effective against the Germans' tank-only troops. The Blitzkrieg doctrine almost won the Germans war.
My eyes are looking for snipers on the roofs of the houses that can be seen when I look at the Manbij front, which centers on the Sacir River along with the Tel Rifat line starting from the borders of Afrin and extending to Al-Bab, from the top of the Tomb of Kiram Mohammad Badawi, the Companion of Kilis. The duel of the legendary Soviet marksman "Vasily Zaitsev" with his German marksman suddenly reminds me of the Russian generals killed by snipers in the RF-Ukraine War. By the way, "Vasily Zaitsev"s sniper rifle (Kanas) is in the Stalingrad war museum. As we walk around the border, nothing escapes our attention as it used to be. It is also known as the flag game. The flag play that PeKaKa and his supporters staged before in Afrin, Tal Abyad and Rasulayn is repeated in Tel Rifat, and we learn that they are responding to the same in Manbij. You see that the Damascus regime, which has been following the terror occupation for seven years, has once again chosen the path of flag exchange to protect PeKaKa. In addition to the hoisting of regime flags in the two regions, some of the regime's tanks and armored vehicles have entered the region and similar previous approaches in which Iranian-backed Shiite terror elements have shown sacred solidarity in the region. confirms. An unchanging fact is being repeated again, and the shops, houses and lands belonging to all Turkmens in the region are being settled and looted by the supporters of terror.
The Goal of Establishing a Kurdistan in Four Parts
First of all, let us state that the main enemy of the Syrian National Army (SMO), which has passed to the regular army stage, on the other side of the border gates is the Syrian extension of the Pe K a Ka/KCK terrorist organization "Syrian PeKaKas". The target of the fifth operation to be carried out by the SMO is the US-backed PeKaKa Satellite Statelet. On top of that, let us say that Syria has been left at the mercy of its water resources, oil, natural gas and hydroelectric power plants. The emergence of the PYD/YPG, the Syrian branch of P e K a Ka, as a key actor in the Syrian civil war after 2012 began to be a threat to Turkey's national security, and after the Northern Iraq problem it had experienced since the First Gulf operation, it faced the problem of Northern Syria.
In Four Parts, the aim of the system created by the KCK Convention is defined as the establishment of a 'Democratic Confederal Kurdistan' in Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria. In this respect, the KCK isan umbrella organization that includes P e K a K in Turkey, PYD in Syria, PJAK (Kurdistan Free Life Party) in Iran and PCDK (Kurdistan Democratic Solution Party) in Iraq. The political wing of the KCK Syrian structure is the PYD and the armed wing is the YPG/YPJ. TEV-DEM (Democratic Society Movement) is its organization in the social field. (3)
The Impact of Daesh on the Region
In this direction, the main purpose of the PYD, the Syrian branch of the PKK, is to establishand unite the members of the terrorist organization by making them the core state of the nation. In other words, by changing the demographic structure, they have set out as a goal to kidnap the authentic people living here, especially to extrajudicial executions, in other words, to create a terror corridor by uniting the settlements in the region that they describe as supposedly autonomous in the territory of Turkey, Iraq, Syria and Iran by not allowing the formation of any opposition group . . The PYD is a Marxist-Leninist, just like FETÖ, an organization that considers only the interests of the members of the organization and has adopted the ideology of Apoism. The PYD has adopted gaining legitimacy with anti-Daesh rhetoric as a great am. To put it more accurately, the PYD's most important source of legitimacy is its conflict with Daesh. The PYD, which is active in northeast Syria, is trying to gain ground through its opposition to Daesh. Through its military force, the YPG, it is trying to portray itself as a legitimate actor in the international arena by giving the appearance of an organization fighting against DAESH. Thanks to the political and logistical support it receives from some international powers, it is trying to protect the gains it has made in the civil war.
First of all, it should be said that the organization does not have any serious social support. The organization is not accepted as a terrorist organization by known Western countries, especially the USA, and even by Russia . Although there are differences regarding the meaning that the US and Russia attach to the PYD, it was seen that both countries exhibited a similar approach in terms of instrumentalizing this organization, which threatens Turkey's national security, until yesterday. RF also allowed the PYD to expand in northern Syria to prevent Turkey's support for the opposition, but with the prolongation of the war in Ukraine, it has almost now come to the same line with Turkey.
The fifth operation of the TSK and the SMO in northern Syria, which is essential, is based on Article 51 of the UN Charter in order to protect Turkey. In a word, it is legal. Another legal basis of ours is the YPG/YPJ's "War Crimes Allegations" put forward by international organizations, especially the United Nations. How? Here's how:
In the Syrian Civil War section of the report titled "Children and Armed Conflicts" submitted by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-mu to the United Nations Security Council on 5 June 2015, it was announced that girls and boys under the age of 15 were recruited by the YPG/YPJ and that children were used in war zones. The report stated that a 13-year-old girl was taken to the city of Rasulayn by the organization for military training and that her family's request to see their daughter was refused. On 13 October 2015, Amnesty International published another report stating that the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its military wing, the YPG, had rendered unusable areas inhabited by Arab and Turkmen civilians in northern Syria, violated human rights by forcibly displacing residents, and committed war crimes. The families of these children live in container camps near the border, which is one of the reasons why they seek refuge in Turkey.
Is it just that the Syrian Pekakas are making children fight and filling the cemeteries in Ain al-Arab? Of course not. this issue is also reflected in the reports of the US State Department itself. To put it more accurately, the fact that the terrorist organization YPG/PeK a K a makes children fight is also included in the "2020 Human Trafficking Report" published by the US State Department on June 26, 2020. "The YPG continued to forcibly recruit and use even 12-year-old boys and girls from the refugee camps in northwest Syria," the report said. In a report published on January 16, 2020, the UN Human Rights Council shared new findings that YPG/P e K aKa terrorists use children as "fighters" in Syria. Virginia Gamba, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' special envoy on "children in armed conflicts", signed the action plan prepared "to release the child fighters within the organization" with Ferhat Abdi Şahin, codenamed "Mazlum Abdi", one of the leaders of YPG/P eKa Ka who met at the UN Geneva Office on 29 June 2019. Although it continues. Turkey had given a protest note on the issue to the UN, which is playing the invisible today. (4)
Turkey's War Continues, It Has To:
The Republic of Turkey is a follower of this important issue on behalf of humanity on behalf of the UN. This is one of the important pillars of the Manbij operation.
After all this, it should be noted first of all that the Syrian Pekaka has seized most of the territories it has dominated in Syria without a fight by agreeing with the regime forces and has been one of the key actors in the civil war by holding one-third of the Syrian territory. The organization aligned itself with the Tamil Guerrillas in Sri Lanka as "4. Generation War". The aim of this strategy is not to achieve military victory over the enemy, but to intimidate him politically. With this strategy, large areas are taken under control and the functions of the state such as security, health, education, etc. are fulfilled. We have to be cautious about this as both the people and the government, dear readers.
