Why Don't We Have New Defence and Offensive Strategies Specific to Turkey?

In today's wars, inflicting minimum casualties should be seen as a success. The focus should be on the defence of the personnel, avoiding casualties, and weapon power and firepower should be increased as much as possible.

Since the world has existed, all conflicts, fights and wars have always been for power. Being strong is something everyone wants. This is also the case nationally. Technology is developing day by day and it is difficult to keep up.

A similar trend is observed in the defence and offensive areas of states. You have to protect your lands, seas and airspace. Having absolute power in this field makes you a decisive authority. In this respect, you must be superior to other states in these areas.

Today's land combat vehicles are constantly undergoing modernisation, but despite these modernisations, they are still not sufficient. Tanks, which have been in active use for nearly a hundred years, have provided superiority in the past, but today they are a target. They are a costly vehicle and are seen as an open target. Tanks can be destroyed in a short time with newly developed technologies.

As seen in German films depicting the Second World War, infantrymen taking protection around tanks apply the same method today and cannot avoid heavy casualties. This method must change. I believe that it must change. The loss of millions of dollars worth of tanks and their personnel, together with the infantry protecting them, is very high. This point of view, this kind of fighting mentality, in short, this system is now rubbish. Even a lava gun can cause the pallet of a tank or an armoured vehicle to break and destroy the mobility of that huge powerful vehicle in an instant. This is because tanks can be easily detected and destroyed instantly with the developing technology tools and/or armed/unarmed unmanned aerial vehicles from the air. Armour-piercing rockets and anti-tank missiles prevent tanks from producing benefits in the field of operation, and putting tanks into the field and making efforts to protect tanks results in more damage than benefit. A tank that is targeted and hit suddenly becomes a 60-tonne pile of scrap.

It is necessary to develop tanks. I will not go into this subject in this article. One of the subjects of my future articles will be about the development of these tanks.

Today, as in the past, conflicts are generally fought in residential areas. There can no longer be frontal wars, but there can be frontal wars between Russia and Ukraine. Because now, even on the front line, wars are fought with long-range missiles and rockets. What is important here is the protection of military personnel. In today's wars, inflicting minimum casualties should be seen as a success. The focus should be on the defence of the personnel, avoiding casualties, and weapon power and firepower should be increased as much as possible. Semi-robotic soldiers should be more active on the battlefields, and wars should be fought not between humans, but between robots and/or robotic systems under the control of humans.

As for air power, our country has progressed and has started to sell the technologies it has developed. However, this level of progress is not sufficient. Continuous development and improvement must continue. We have technologies for the development and production of air vehicles such as UAVs, UCAVs, TUAVs, ANKA and KAAN, which are developing day by day. In order to always be one step ahead, we should focus more on wingless systems. We should introduce wingless systems to the world. We should also produce a defence wall or curtain to eliminate an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles against our country.

Since our country is covered with seas on three sides, our navy must be very strong. We undoubtedly appreciate what has been done. But we must work hard and do better. TCG Anadolu was a very good example in this context. Now work is underway to build a bigger one. The ships we build from now on should be unique to us, break out of certain moulds and be a different twin ship. While the TCG Trakya is being built, we should adopt a technology that is unique to us and that surpasses the TCG Anadolu. In addition to this, let's build sea monsters, and when we sail to the Mediterranean, let's build ships with high capabilities, capable enough to ensure that all aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean leave the Mediterranean. This ship to be built should have such powerful features that there should not be a ship that we cannot sink in all the seas our navy travels. This ship or ships should sometimes even be invisible.

In the end, let us change our defence and offensive strategies on land, sea and air, and lead the world. I firmly believe that we can do this.
