Why an Entrepreneurs' Exchange should be established in Turkey?
What is a startup? You develop an idea, usually an application that works on mobile phones is the practical operation of this idea. In other words, something as technological as possible.
Shopping! First you give money, then you get what you paid for. Shopping is the right word for the seller. For the giver, perhaps it should be the other way around.
Exchange!

These days, I've been following the American adventures of young entrepreneurs online. They call it a startup. They also call it innovation.
What is a startup?
You develop an idea, usually an application that works on mobile phones is the practical operation of this idea. In other words, something as technological as possible.
Within the framework of this idea, you need to make some investments.
Naturally, you need money for these investments.
When your venture is still very new, maybe you have started to make some money, you introduce your venture to some money owners and if you can convince them, they invest in your venture.
Sometimes this venture is something that is related to the global needs of big companies.
For example, transportation services on a global scale!
For example, a mobile application to arrange appointments with the appropriate doctors in the appropriate hospital in the US.
There are thousands of young people who come up with such ideas and make some initiatives of their own.
***
It probably starts as a profit partnership, where the owners of the money invest in these ventures. In other words, they don't really interfere with you or the management of your company because they are partners.
You grow your business with the money you receive and you win, and those who trust you and give you money also win.
This is what they call a startup.
What happens if your startup is not making money as expected?
Then those who trusted you and gave you money lose their money along with you.
There must be some control mechanisms, but I have never heard of anyone threatening anyone because you screwed up my money.
But of course it is a big risk!
That's why there are not many people who give money so easily. Investors scrutinize what you are thinking of doing from the beginning. If it's an idea that can potentially make money, only then will they give money.
But America is the land of opportunity!
Among these young entrepreneurs, there are some who make really big money this way.
Some investors are called angel investors.
These investors have made it their principle to support young entrepreneurs and they don't spare a little start-up capital.
Then, if you are lucky, other investors start to give money by looking at these angel investors and you can become quite rich in a short time if you set out with a really good idea.
***
So how do you meet these angel investors?
They say that you can meet most of them in certain places in the famous Silicon Valley, in certain cafes. I don't know if this is true.
I think it is also possible to meet these investors at entrepreneur fairs organized in certain cities in the US.
There are even young entrepreneurs from Turkey who participate in these fairs with the state organization.
I think for the last year or two, some initiatives developed in technoparks with the support of some universities have been taken to fairs in the US with a number of entrepreneurs organized and pre-qualified by the ministry.
Frankly, I can say that I appreciate the ministry in this regard.
I hope they are not looking at party priorities in this selection process.

When you really have an idea, it's not easy to turn it into a money-making venture.
Not only do you need a team to develop your idea, but you also need some capital to get started.
Since it is not possible for banks to give loans to a young entrepreneur, you start looking for sponsors.
There are business people who want to support young people in this regard. There are also those who organize competitions and distribute prizes.
All these efforts are very good, but it takes a lot of effort to come up with an idea, develop that idea, and try to convince people that your idea is a useful idea.
Moreover, if you have a timid character, you are a member of the loser's club from the very beginning.
There is also the entrepreneurs who are not well educated and do not have a technological background.
Also, when we talk about entrepreneurship, ideas do not necessarily have to be technological.
I mean, normal people can also have interesting ideas.
Such entrepreneurs have no chance.
In this regard, perhaps the supports provided by our municipalities can come to the fore. However, these supports are not such that everyone can step forward with confidence.
Not all municipalities organize such events anyway.
In short, I think it is necessary to think of a large-scale organization that will create opportunities for all kinds of young entrepreneurs, even young and old, to realize an idea that comes to their minds.
I think such an organization should be supported by the state!
***
I think it would be a very useful thing if there was a stock exchange-style organization.
The entrepreneur will go and register his idea in the centers that the state will establish in the cities. In a sense, he will patent his idea.
If it is already an ongoing business, it will be possible to register it in this stock exchange.
In this sense, I think small tradesmen can also benefit from this opportunity if they need money for investment.
Then those who want to invest money in this idea or this business can start investing with peace of mind under the guarantee of the state through the stock exchange.
It is not easy to make a choice, but in a free market environment, entrepreneurs can at least find capital support more easily than in the current situation, since all kinds of information about companies are openly available, as in the stock exchange.
The state could even set up a fund and guarantee a minimum return on the money invested here.
In this way, people can invest the little money they have in the funds in this stock exchange as if they were depositing money in a bank. And the funds will be able to support entrepreneurs with professional staff.
As a result, all kinds of entrepreneurs will have access to financial resources in this way.
The experts of this stock exchange can also provide entrepreneurs with the necessary support to start a business, I don't know, at least accounting support, support in setting up a company.
In this way, the tax revenues of the state can be increased as all kinds of initiatives will be registered.
In the meantime, of course, this stock exchange will also have a PDP platform.
And on this platform, all kinds of internal information will have to be shared transparently. I think this should be a sine qua non rule for investors.
This way, the entrepreneurial information that investors need and the financial development of the startup will be clearly visible.
In this way, who will be able to easily decide which idea or venture is promising and invest a little bit of their money in the venture they choose accordingly.
***
This order, which I have written with very general principles, can be regulated in much more detail by experts who are experienced in this field.
In principle, I am talking about a platform where those who have an idea can promote their idea to people with peace of mind, and those who have money can invest their money in the venture they see the future with peace of mind. And with state guarantee!
What is the state for? Isn't it to establish order?
Here is a shopping order for you!
Or should I say shopping order?
The product is also the idea in this market!

Turkey Entrepreneur Exchange!
The aim is for young people to find job opportunities in this country, and not to go all the way to the United States in search of angel investors.
Let Turkey be the land of opportunity, not America!
What kind of idea? Entrepreneur stock exchange!
Not the Istanbul Stock Exchange. Turkey Entrepreneur Stock Exchange!
TGB!
That's the same acronym as the Turkish Youth Union, should we call it TÜGİB?
There is also an organization called TÜGİP, but this one ends with a "P", it is the Turkey Food Innovation Platform.
Yes, I think TÜGİB is more appropriate.
Anyway, it doesn't matter what the name is.
If you don't like it, give it a name, the important thing is to establish such an entrepreneurial exchange.
The future is in the hands of young people and entrepreneurs.
The important thing is that we support entrepreneurs!
Love and respect to everyone from Moscow
