Bone Broth Soup

It is a law of nature, nutrition is a necessity for us to live. For me it is a human right.

Unlike some other creatures, human beings need both animal food and plant food. Scientists have some views on this, they say that we are an intermediate species in the classification of nutrition according to the length of our intestines. 

Even if we are vegetarians or vegans, yes, we also need animal food. I respect those who are vegetarian or vegan, but this is a scientific fact. It is our nature!

When I was young, I used to wonder why the bones of animals were not utilized. People used to make things out of bones, but I used to think that bones were useless except as food for dogs.

Then I learned that gelatin is actually produced from bones. Yes, the gelatin used to make hair gel, those gelatins are made from bones.

No, I'm not talking about hair jelly, you know the kind that comes in colorful colors, they make it at home as a dessert, it's transparent. They put a strawberry or another fruit in it. That's the jelly. I like to eat it.

Look, I remembered it for some reason. Maybe it is also used to make jelly beans.

What was the good news given by Mr. Gökçek, the former mayor of Ankara?  He gave the good news that a large amount had been discovered somewhere, and I think that jelly bean is probably made of gelatin.

Mr. Gökçek recently made a statement that FETÖ influenced me with three letters. May God give him wisdom, I don't want to say anything else.

Actually, the offices of a company I used to work for in Moscow were on the land of an old gelatin factory. 

A serious facility, a gelatin factory. 

Of course, at that time the factory had already closed down and who knows how the equipment was destroyed, only the old factory buildings were left on the land. 

Especially the big buildings were still standing. We renovated some of the buildings and rented them to companies working in the market for different purposes. 

For example, we rented one of the buildings to a private archive company. Archiving is an interesting business, especially for accounting documents that companies are obliged to keep for a certain period of time, this company said bring them to us and we will keep them for you. Even the backup system CDs that some banks received every evening were kept in a special environment here. In other words, this company was working automatically, with special codes, in a system like a safe deposit box.

Anyway, I remember seeing old technological projects when I was digging through the old archives of the factory. The existing buildings were huge buildings 20-30 meters high. I remember the technology was quite complicated, and by complicated I mean there were huge grinding machines and stuff like that.

I don't know how gelatin is produced today, maybe it is not produced from bones like it used to be. 

Everything we eat now is made from something unnatural. Maybe this will have an impact on our future generations. 

Some of us try to eat organic foods, but how much of what we eat and drink can be organic, except for certain things, almost everything sold in the markets is made from genetically modified products.

Let's go back to bones. 

In the old days, dog breeders used to get bones free of charge from butchers. 

The dogs' favorite bone was the femur. It is written on a website that has articles on this subject that dogs love to gnaw on this bone because there is a lot of cartilage and gelatin in the round part of the bone head. In Russia, they call this round part of the bone head "sugar bone". I really don't know if it has a special name in our country. I think these big bones are also called tibia.

They also specifically warned on the website that it is necessary to give the bones raw to dogs. They must know something if they make such a warning. It was written on the site that the bones become brittle when cooked, and this brittleness is harmful for dogs.

You know dogs love to bury bones. Then, when they get hungry, they go and dig them up and continue gnawing on them.

Of course, bones are the most difficult part of living things to disappear in nature. 

The bones are the only things that remain from the creatures that have lived throughout history. Everything else soon disappears into nature. Bones, on the other hand, remain for thousands of years.

The cycle of life, there is nothing to say.  

Paleontologists, fossil scientists (also called rock scientists, I like this term!) who work in archaeological excavations are still working intensively on how life has evolved from these old bones throughout history. Sometimes, if I come across a documentary on these subjects, I like to watch it.

However, a news I heard on the internet today threw me into a completely different subject.

Now butchers are selling bones for money!

At 15 to 20 liras per kilo. Since people could not buy meat, they started to buy bones so that they could at least taste them in soup. The butcher who was informed in the news said that we sell up to 300 kilos of bones a day. 

Can you imagine? People are now buying bones and making bone soup. 

I also like to eat the marrow inside the bones, it tastes delicious. Sometimes when we buy meat with bones, I tell my wife that the marrow is mine.

But people buying bones instead of meat! Making bone soup instead of cooking with meat!

I think this is the end of the line. 

Can you see what they have done to this country? It really hurts me when I hear such news.

This country must return to normal as soon as possible. I don't want to say anything more today. 

I hope this nation has not lost its wisdom. I hope they realize who is responsible for this situation.
