I wonder why bagel prices have increased?

The bagel sellers say that bagel prices are not saving. Because both sesame and wheat come from abroad. Why is that? Why does sesame come from abroad? I don't know about sesame, but aren't we an agricultural principle? Can't we grow wheat?

The bagel sellers say that bagel prices are not saving. Because both sesame and wheat come from abroad.

Why is that?

Why does sesame come from abroad?

I don't know about sesame, but aren't we an agricultural principle?

Can't we grow wheat?

Why should the price of bagels depend on foreign currency prices?

We grow wheat, but Turkey is the country that exports most of the flour sold to the Middle East. Whatever we have in the name of wheat, we make flour and sell it abroad.

We are also not bad at exporting biscuits. Therefore, the wheat produced in the country is not enough for all these exports, we have to import wheat from abroad, and since the grain corridor has become dysfunctional with the recent negative developments, wheat prices have increased abroad.

Therefore, domestic prices also increased accordingly.

You know that when you procure something from abroad, domestic prices are also linked to foreign exchange.

In this case, when the exchange rates increased, the prices of bread and bagels had to increase in the domestic market!

Wheat is OK, but it is said that the increase in sesame prices affected the increase in bagel prices. Why could this be?

Why is sesame not grown in our country?

As far as I understand, there is actually sesame cultivation in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions, but not enough to meet the demand.

We are a bagel country. I don't know if there is any other country that consumes something similar.

Although the word "simit", like many other words, is of Arabic origin.

That's why I like the fact that simit is called gevrek in Izmir. Gevrek is a Turkish word.

Sesame is a plant that requires a warm climate. It is said to be originally from Africa. There are many species and two thirds of these species grow in Africa.

Especially in Ethiopia!

Sesame is also cultivated in China and India, but it is said that sesame was brought from Africa and started to be cultivated there.

Unfortunately, it does not grow in places where the soil temperature is below 20 degrees Celsius, and there are very few such hot places in our country.

Yes, we have to import most of the sesame, which is a plant that has to be planted every year like wheat, and as sesame prices increase abroad, so the prices of bagels increase at home.

Moreover, you also have to use quality flour for bagels. When the bagel is made from standard bread flour, it is not tasty enough.

There is also molasses, of course, the natural way for the sesame to stick to the dough is to first press the dough prepared in the form of a ring with diluted molasses and then cover it with sesame.

Imagine how delicious a bagel made with so much effort and expensive ingredients would be when it comes out of the oven fresh from the oven, don't you think?

Crispy, crunchy, crunchy bagel and a cup of tea!

I even say feta cheese.

What an afternoon delight!

No, bagels and tea shouldn't be for the poor!

It's for the rich, raise their prices!

And what was that bagel and tea bill? No, if a family of four eats a bagel each and drinks a cup of tea with it, it would cost this much per month!

Who came up with such a calculation?

As I said, bagels and tea are for the rich, just like going to Paris and shopping for clothes. All the materials are imported, brother, what does a poor person need imported materials for?

If you can, buy a bagel for me and eat it, unfortunately we have not learnt the bagel culture from Russians all these years.

Love and respect to everyone from Moscow
