Population Growth and Increasing Unemployment Due to Migration

f necessary, we could keep the arrivals in the camps and help them, we would both keep them under control and we would not have a risk of demographic change. At least we wouldn't have created an opportunity for vigilante employers to fire existing workers and hire refugees for low-cost labor.

Apple Trees in Dacha:

In the dacha some years, in fact, usually every two years, our apple trees give a lot of apples. Most of it is poured into the soil and becomes fertilizer, but still a lot of it remains on the branch, we cannot cut it, we have to collect it.

There are actually 5-6 apple trees, but they are quite large.

The apple tree lived between 50 and 80 years, the dacha was over 100 years old, the old landlord gave us an old notebook when we bought it, there are all the records in that notebook, who lived, who was born here, to whom it was sold, etc. Our information was also recorded in this book. There is no information about the trees, but the trees were there when we bought them, who knows when they were planted by which old landlord, they are quite large.

There are two or three kinds of apples, those that can grow in cold climates here, but they are not long-lasting ones, they are good when they are eaten from the branch, they do not taste that much, although they make a good compote. Girls also love apple pie. In season, they also bake apples in the oven. I don't like it boiled. That's how some are valued. The lady even makes some kind of hard jam.

In some years, I even filled it in the trunk of the car and took it to the construction site, I distributed it to the workers with the meal. Both the remaining ones were appreciated and the people were happy. It is good.

Compotes are enough for us all winter. We do not buy fruit juice from the market, when they say fruit juice, there are thousands of additives, it is more natural that way. We also keep some of our picks in the fridge for a while, fresh apples here, I like apples. Although there is not that much space in the closet, it runs out soon.

Here, in years when there are too many apples, there is always a fuss, if you sell all these apples, you can't sell them or throw them away. Sometimes people don't know what to do when they have more than what they need.

TUIK Reports:

But there are some issues, whether you know it or not, you need to find the solution.

While surfing the internet, I came across the end of 2021 TURKSTAT report. I looked a little. Then I thought I'd do my own calculations.

Let's do some calculations together. There will probably be no definitive results, but data from the report, as of the end of 2021:

Our total population is 84 million 680 thousand 273 people.

There are 22 million 738 thousand 300 children. (0-17 years old)

18 million 85 thousand 943 young people in authentic education, university students, I guess.

13 million 644 thousand 30 people are our retirees.

I did not know how to add 14 million 700 thousand housewives to the account, among them there are retired people, there are employees, there are simple housewives, maybe most of them are already taken into account in the agricultural sector, I don't know. Unfortunately, that detail is not available where I looked. That's why I didn't take it into account. I'm assuming you got into the account somehow.

Subtracting these numbers from the population leaves 30 million 212 thousand people. This can be considered as a potential working population. There are those who both read and work, but as I said, there will be no definitive results.

Yes, they divided the employees into four groups in the report, the number of employees is as follows:

Agriculture: 4 million 948 thousand people

Industry: 6 million 143 thousand people

Construction: 1 million 777 thousand people

Service: 15 million 928 thousand people

Total employment appears to be 28 million 796 thousand people.

When the children, university students and retirees were excluded from the general population, there were 30 million 212 thousand people left.

With this calculation, 1 million 416 thousand people are of working age and it is not clear what they are doing. Neither a child is studying, nor retired, nor working, we can accept them as unemployed, in any case.

Unemployment numbers are also announced in the reports. The announced number confuses our calculation a bit. Because, according to TÜİK, the unemployed are more than the number of unemployed people who have been deducted from our account, 3 million 794 million people have written to the report. The difference from the unemployed in our account is 2 million 378 thousand people.

In this case, two possibilities come to my mind, either the employment figures are inflated, that is, it is overwritten, it should be less so that they can keep account, or the employees are not only citizens, 2 million 378 thousand are foreigners, that is, they are not included in the total population.

As I said, this calculation may not be correct, there may be sections that are intertwined, but we started from the officially announced numbers. At least it's rank. Since the information is TURKSTAT information, we must accept that it is correct.

Unemployed Citizens and Job Opportunities:

From time to time, there are those who say and write that the number of unemployed citizens is much higher. But TÜİK is the official institution after all. I think it is better to take the information given by him as a basis.

In any case, if it is true, 2 million 378 thousand foreign workers are very serious, and 3 million 794 thousand people who are unemployed in total are very serious.

Quite a few people are so unemployed. You know I like to compare. For example, 4 million 426 thousand people live in our distinguished city of Izmir, like 3 million 148 thousand people in Bursa. If we built a city and filled it, all the unemployed would be in between the two, it would be the fourth largest city in Turkey, and its name would probably be "The Unemployed".

We are in the age of technology, let alone employing so many people in factories, factory business people dream of raising their factories to the level of industry 4.0 and reducing their current employees. The future industry is on its way to 5.0. Maybe one day we will examine them in an article.

Celebrities, movie serial stars, sound artists, artists, prominent actors of the magazine community, although they seem like people with good earnings, their numbers are very few compared to the main sectors, and the employees behind these people do not earn that much, there is not enough potential for employment in this sector. .

So is the art community, once they want special skills, God-given virtues that are not bestowed by everyone, the number of existing ones is very small, they do not even enter the ranking in terms of employment.

They started archeological excavations behind the historical Haydarpaşa station, it's a pretty big area. They are trying to reveal the history of the city that stretches back thousands of years. There are also archaeological excavations in Beşiktaş, kurgan-type tombs have been found, its history stretches back 7-8 thousand years. I appreciate the work done, they didn't say what is the need, they didn't say let's build a big shopping center in this area now, let's hit the money. They dig and search for history. The changing face of the city is visible to those who want to see it. They have also been a hope for people who have graduated from the archeology department. How nice, but again, it does not solve our problems, I know that a team of 600 people is working in the excavations.

Writer, columnist, journalists. The number of them is certain, not to mention their difficulties and low earnings. Again, let's make some of them work here.

Internet influencers, those trying to make money on YouTube, Instagram and other social media. Yes, it is obvious from your name, we call it a phenomenon, it is not easy to be a phenomenon, you will be admired, the fingers of one hand do not exceed the fingers of one hand, those who have become very famous, let's say a hundred people, again it is not enough.

Shepherds have become famous recently, there were 4700 shepherds just within the borders of İzmir province. Even if we encourage it, it seems unlikely to me that we can shepherd millions. Afghan shepherds are more than enough for now, if there is a need.

If I say let's make an imam, they have already passed the age of reading, how are we going to teach theology again and have a profession? The Presidency of Religious Affairs declared that we have a total of 89,259 mosques, even if we do. Let's say we have one of us next to each imam and appoint a second one, like a reserve pilot, that is, we will find a job for 90 thousand people. They weren't just imams though, were they? Decent profession today.

This account reminded me of the promise that if every employer hires a worker, we will not have unemployment problems. Good idea actually! I look and read news on the internet that the total number of tradesmen has exceeded two million. But there is other news, more than 100 thousand shopkeepers went bankrupt and closed their shutters. Being a trader is tough these days. I hope the God helps them.

I will never enter the construction sector, maybe it is a temporary solution, but it has already been tried, it did not help, it also had serious damages. Let's see how we pay back all the debt. Since there is no permanent employment anyway, it only serves to postpone the problem for a while.

In the same way, they still cannot find only one or two classrooms or even a lecturer in each city, just like opening an institution with the name of a university and not establishing a laboratory or social facility in it. All these efforts only serve to underestimate the number of unemployed and delay the problem. What has been done may be well-intentioned efforts, but it is about vision. It's about planning. Let's not go into those issues now. No matter how well-intentioned what has been done, it does not work, it is certain that it does not work for the university.

Agriculture and the service sector seem to be our savior. But when it comes to the service industry, I always remember the story of Gazi, that famous story, I think, when an ambassador spilled the drink he was carrying, our father said, "I taught them everything, but I couldn't teach them to serve."

A large part of the service sector is also seasonal and its conditions are not solely dependent on us. It changes according to the conditions of the day. Now everyone is wondering what the Russian tourists will do this year, the Ukrainian ones have already had to come without paying. It's not an industry to rely on.

As for agriculture, it is a sector that needs to benefit from technology, so you cannot force people to do agriculture just for employment.

There was a good movie, a local movie, the barber was telling stories to his customer, I think it should be called "No More", I recommend it if you haven't seen it. Let me say that everyone will return to nature one day, the subject of agriculture is very long, maybe we will return later.

This is the situation, the number of our unemployed is increasing day by day, the cost of living, the state of the economy are the problems that everyone feels. The problem of asylum seekers is now on everyone's lips. If they say, I think, describe the problem of survival, I think this is the problem of survival. It is incomprehensible that so many refugees are given jobs when there are so many unemployed people in our own country.

Asylum seekers and compatriots:

By the way, when I say refugees, I am not talking about our kinsmen with whom our culture is one. I do not call our compatriots refugees. Of course, we will support our Turkmen brothers and sisters as much as we can, whether they come from Iraq or Syria. Our door is always open to those coming from other Turkish states, we are kin, we have a cultural unity. We will also give Turkish citizenship, if necessary, we will give you a house, job and food.

It is not a problem whether the people who come are ethnically Arab, Afghan or from other geographies. These things cannot be done uncontrollably. No country does it this way.

This situation should not make our unemployed forget their problems. If necessary, we could keep the arrivals in the camps and help them, we would both keep them under control and we would not have a risk of demographic change.

At least we wouldn't have created an opportunity for vigilante employers to fire existing workers and hire refugees for low-cost labor. Instead of the new unemployed armies, maybe we would be a cure for some of our own unemployed, those who developed their business would have to hire our own citizens.

We could give jobs by choosing among the incoming asylum seekers in the fields of business that we really need. That's what they do in Germany or other European countries. Germany had already taken most of the workforce it needed from us, and I still have relatives in Germany, the Netherlands. But it all had to be under control.

It will take many years for us to solve this problem. If we can solve it.

We broke up again, I mentioned related topics, but our main topic is how to find a job for so many people. Yes, technology is moving in the direction of decreasing the workforce in the industry. The need for familiar professions is obvious. Our population is increasing by 5% every year.

The Number of Unemployed Increases Unceasingly:

All indicators show that the number of unemployed will increase day by day. Even if there was no refugee problem, the situation would not have mattered. The number of unemployed is likely to increase further in the future. Not only in us, but all over the world.

So is there a solution to this situation? If you're asking me, I wrote my dream of the future before. The dream is mine, of course.

Going back to the real world, the solution is to find new jobs, this should be a state policy. We must open up to the world, we must make use of the vacant workforce with various job opportunities. I was aware that all this was being tried to be done. African expansions, various initiatives in other countries, all I accept.

But I always say, when there is only one person, there is wobble, and when you falter, there is no trust. Being at the head of state is not a small responsibility. That office means the fate of 84 million in today's administrative system. The smallest mistake made affects millions of people. This means that the decisions taken should not be taken without a filter. This means changing the current system.

An idle person, if he does not have wealth inherited from his family, father, grandfather, and ancestors, means that he is in trouble for a living. Especially if he is hungry, then his eyes will not see anything.

We should not starve anyone, we cannot leave them, it is not in our nature.

We must make proper plans for the future and create the necessary social state conditions already, taking into account the potential increase in unemployment I mentioned.

The future will necessitate a real welfare state, and after some thought, everyone will come to this conclusion.

Let's always be together for a beautiful future.

Love and regards from Moscow.
