The rest is history

Let's do a simple calculation.

Once upon a time I spent a lot of time and calculated in as much detail as I could how much income a standard family of four needs for an average standard of living in the name of "the codes of living".

https://strasam.org/ekonomi/mikroekonomi-ve-makroekonomi/yasamanin-kodlari-1-866

It has been a long time since that article, and if I were to do the same calculation again today, with the effect of inflation and the cost of living, plus the increase in foreign exchange prices, I would probably come up with a much higher income requirement.

Even that was well above the income level of most of us at the time.

In the last article of that series, I made some comparisons between countries in dollar terms. Although it was much higher in many high-income countries, in our calculation, the average monthly income requirement of a family of four in dollars was $1375.

This means an income need of around $350 per person.

Let's start with this value today and assume that everyone earns this much per month.

We have 84 million people. I do not include refugees and other guests in this calculation.

In this case, the monthly income requirement of the whole country is $29.4 billion. Annual income is $346 billion 500 million.

Our estimated annual gross national product for 2022, that is, our annual income for the country, is $844 billion 534 million in dollar terms.

So if we deduct the need for a standard life of $346 billion 500 million, we actually have a surplus of $498 billion, about $500 billion.

What do you think this means?

Our total income is more than twice the income needed for everyone in the country to live at an average standard of living!

But people are being crushed by the cost of living and inflation.

Doesn't this seem strange to you?

There is an extreme distortion in the distribution of income in Turkey today. While some people, actually a very small group, have a lot of money in their hands, a large part of the population has an income far below even the average standard I have calculated.

This is what I call incompetence in governance. I call it incompetence, because I cannot call it anything else.

Turkey is a very big country, our nation is very hardworking. Even though our intelligence level has been declining in recent years, especially due to mistakes made in education, we are actually a very intelligent nation.

Even from this simple calculation, I think we all realize the real picture.

I would like to see a cadre in power that will raise this income even higher. More income, i.e. a bigger GNP, should be the main goal.

But more importantly, I would prefer a cadre that promises to make the distribution of income fairer.

The rest is a story, the world leader, the table of six, who will be the candidate. Believe me, they are all stories.

Who will make income distribution fairer? That is the real question!

Who will make this country produce more GNP?

Who will carry us to a fairer, more prosperous future, that's who I will prefer.

This is a staff job, Turkey is not a country that can be governed by a single person.

Turkey is too big, our nation is too great. This nation deserves to be governed properly.

This is how I see it, the rest is a story for me.

Love and regards to everyone from Moscow
