We Live with Applause

Human beings, for some reason, always expect appreciation for what they do. It's human nature. That's why I can't say anything. Applause is the most important method of appreciation, especially for those in the show business.

The members of the press are not applauding at all, did we do something wrong?

This is what Mr. President said while announcing the good news again.

Human beings, for some reason, always expect appreciation for what they do. Human nature. That's why I can't say anything.

Applause is a method of appreciation that especially those in the show business attach the most importance to.

When you go to a theater, at the end of the play, all the artists take turns on stage and bow respectfully in front of the audience and are appreciated with the applause of the audience. Theater is a love, but the most pleasurable moment of this love is applause. For some it is an addiction. Many valuable artists have confessed this in interviews with themselves.

For some reason, I think of Yıldız Kenter now. I loved her very much. She was an unforgettable artist of the Turkish theater. May she rest in peace.

I also remembered a scene from the movie "Blues Brothers", the jazz brothers. After they got out of prison, after getting the band back together through various schemes, they wandered around a lot and when they came across a country club in a secluded place, they first deceived the other members of the band by saying, "Here we are, here we are, here we are playing," and then they deceived the club owner as if they were the band that the club was expecting that night, and they went on stage in a hurry. A cage wire was stretched in front of the stage. When the audience didn't like the first song they played, they booed and threw their beer bottles on the stage, and when they played a country song, they got excited and threw their beer bottles on the stage. The night ended with the cost of the broken beer bottles and the beers the band drank, and ended with them quietly fleeing the venue.

Blues Brothers is a good movie, who knows how many times I've seen it. I still watch it from time to time without getting tired of it.

Yes, sometimes the appreciation of the audience can be in such a strange way.

Of course, Mr. President is not an artist. I know he has other qualities besides the presidency, but I don't know that he is an artist among them.

Therefore, I would not be lying if I said that I find it a bit strange that the expectation of appreciation is applause.

Anyway, the podium where he gave his speech was not a stage.

But I have come to understand that he now expects to be appreciated with applause like theater artists. In fact, I think he has made a habit of it, and as far as I know, this is not the first time he has done this.

By the way, this habit is not a bad thing. So don't misunderstand.

I think it is good that we all have this information. Since Mr. President also likes to be applauded, I say we should applaud him whenever we have the opportunity.

Of course, I don't know how much he will be pleased with my applause every time I see him from here on the internet, but if he is pleased, he can be sure that he will receive applause from me every time he speaks. Just to fulfill the wish of our president.

I guess this is something that happens to every person who gets to those places. They are surrounded by a bunch of cheerleaders.

Long live the Sultan!

It is as if this behavior has become a characteristic of our people that comes from history, perhaps it is written in our genes and has become our character in a sense.

In the past, when a new sultan came to power, those who used to say long live the sultan to the old sultan would turn around and say the same to the new sultan. Nothing has changed today either.

Even though each new sultan knows how wrong this clowning is, I guess after a while he falls under its spell.

Yes, state service is sacred. But those who come to those positions should know that they are there to serve. No one is obliged to applaud them for their services.

And he says this to members of the press. I would understand to some extent if he said this to his ministers.

After this warning, the members of the press enthusiastically fulfill the request of Mr. President.

I don't know what to say, whether I should be surprised by those who say long live the sultan or why don't you applaud?

It is impossible to understand what kind of a country we have become.

I hope we can fix this country soon. I don't seem to have much hope in these matters anymore, but I don't give up hope.

Love and respect to everyone from Moscow
