Is There Such a Thing as Digital Consciousness?
The computer programs currently developed are at the level of artificial intelligence, but when much more advanced models are produced in the future, perhaps one day robots will reach the level of "digital consciousness" like in the movie Don't Look Deeper.
“Don't Look Deeper” is a 2020 science fiction movie.
The subject? Artificial intelligence, robots…. In the future.
In fact, I would call the subject "digital consciousness".
Speaking of digital consciousness, I don't know what the exact Turkish word for the word "digital" here could be. There are two definitions in the dictionary, the first is numerical and the second is artificial.
I think neither of them are the exact equivalent of what I mean by “digital consciousness”.
Okay, the literal translation of the word digital might be numerical, but I think the word digital here has another meaning.
Not analog, digital!
What I call "Digital Consciousness" is actually a concept beyond our concept of "Artificial Intelligence", which is a literal translation of "Artificial Intelligence" taken from English.
What we are talking about here is not consciousness, artificial or natural intelligence. As they say, consciousness is the state of knowing that you exist, to be or not to be!
But what I am talking about is not the consciousness of us living beings that I know about ourselves, it is a consciousness that knows that it is not a living creature, or we can even say that it knows that it is a robot, and is aware of what it can do as a robot, the state of being conscious of being a robot.
It is a brain that works with electric current and nerve endings, as in our brain, and not a developed consciousness, but it works with electricity, but this time with zeros and ones, where information is transmitted through cables, and it has a memory, memories, feelings and perhaps emotions, just like we humans do. A consciousness that is.
This is what the “digital consciousness” I mentioned is like!
I wonder how we would name such a consciousness in Turkish?
Numerical consciousness?
What is numerical? Numerical means numerical, numerical consciousness never exists anyway.
I don't like the word artificial consciousness either. I don't like the word artificial intelligence either.
When you say artificial, it's like someone made it. Or it seems like it was done casually, in a superficial and trivial manner.
However, this consciousness develops itself, just like our consciousness. Like our consciousness, this is a superior consciousness.
If it's about artificiality, our parents make us too. Then we would have to call ours artificial consciousness.
But we call ours the consciousness of being human!
In fact, what I am talking about is like our consciousness, but it is a consciousness that works only in an on-off, zero-one, two-based numerical order.
This two-based numerical order does not have an exact equivalent in our language.
This binary digital system is called "binary system" in English, we can perhaps call it binary system, but when we say "digital", the word "binary" does not fit properly.
Double order awareness!
No, that's too ridiculous.
Anyway, I'll call it "digital consciousness" for now, at least I think it's more understandable that way.
Maybe sometime I'll think more comprehensively and find a more appropriate word instead.
If anyone has any suggestions, please write.

Digital consciousness!
Yes, I remember that I had written a few articles on this subject before, but after watching this science fiction movie I came across on the internet, I thought I would write another article.
I don't know what the Turkish name of the movie is, I don't know if it was ever released in Turkey, but you can find it on the internet, search for "Don't Look Deeper".
I think there is also a TV series with the same name. If we were to translate its name into Turkish, I think the literal translation would be "Don't Look Deeper".
If I were to briefly talk about the subject of the movie, a young high school girl in California feels some strange things about herself and after a while she realizes that she is actually a robot...
The events in the movie progress around this subject. I won't tell you more about the subject, there may be those who haven't watched it and those who would be interested and want to watch it.
Good movie, I recommend it.

Yes, really supercomputers, or we can also say robots with supercomputers installed on them, are a subject that technology companies have been working on a lot lately.
They produce jumpers, bouncers, and all kinds of attractions, and companies are working hard to develop them further.
There are also many companies that try to make their appearance similar to humans.
It is certain that humanity will use robots to do many things in the future.
And for some reason, they all look human now.
Even in vehicles, vehicles driven by artificial intelligence have already been released.
The computer programs developed for now are at the level of artificial intelligence, but when much more advanced models are produced in the future, perhaps one day robots will reach the level of "digital consciousness" like in the movie.

In fact, a few days ago, inspired by the videos I had been watching for a while, I thought I would write an article on how artificial intelligence is taught to children abroad, especially in Europe.
Yes, indeed, considering that the future will progress with artificial intelligence, educational programs have been started in Europe on the need to teach artificial intelligence at a young age.
The explanations in these training programs are quite childish and entertaining, but I can say that even I gain a lot of knowledge on some subjects from these videos.
I will talk about the details of these trainings in another article in the future.

But if we would be inspired by the movie, I think in the future our children will be able to make friends with artificial intelligence robots, perhaps I should say digitally conscious robots.
Moreover, perhaps they will make friends with robots without even knowing that the other person is a robot.
Will you be able to tell your children in the future that we crushed their friend in the recycling bin?
Look, this is Ali, play with it, but don't get used to it too much, it will expire after a while! We will have to send it for recycling.

My oldest daughter sometimes sleeps with the toy dog we bought for her when she was younger. Although She uses it as a pillow now, I think she has also formed an emotional bond with her childhood toy. At least I know you still love her more.
Is there a guarantee that tomorrow our children will not form a similar bond with a more conscious confidant?
Can you imagine, you have a robot friend next to you who knows everything about you, has been with you since you were little, and with whom you play games and sometimes even fight. You grew up together.
Most likely, your friend's equipment has been changed from time to time, his appearance has been changed to suit your age, but the same friend, the same consciousness has been loaded with new equipment.
Look, they renewed me today, you know there was a bolt squeaking in my leg. How have I been? I've gotten a little bigger, haven't I?
He is both your confidant, your helper and a friend who understands you very well!
I'm not talking about a robot that just stops when you press a button, it can charge itself when necessary, perhaps in the future we will produce batteries that last much longer and there will be no need to charge it, and yes, it is someone like you. A friend.
After all, I'm talking about a robot friend who has a life of his own.
I think future generations will grow up with a completely different consciousness.
Already new generations are almost born with mobile phones.
Tomorrow's generations will also grow up with robot friendships.

These are computer programs that can learn on their own and rewrite their own code, which we call artificial intelligence.
I think one day they will be able to perform these operations automatically and have a consciousness similar to ours.
After all, don't we live with the awareness that we are only human, without knowing or paying much attention to how certain things happen in our brains?
Can't they create life in a different sense for themselves, knowing that they are just robots and knowing that they can easily transfer software codes from one hardware to another?
I wouldn't be surprised if they do.
Then how ethical would it be to end those lives so easily?
Then there are also technological problems.
Can the life of a robot sent to the recycling center be ended simply by grinding it?
What if he somehow saves the source code somewhere at the last minute and it reappears in another body?
What if that robot life or digital consciousness, if you want to call it, is a digital consciousness with a murderous spirit and is something that really harms people and needs to be destroyed, but cannot be destroyed?
Here's a nice science fiction scenario.
Even if our screenwriters write a good science fiction scenario, we can watch a Turkish science fiction movie with pleasure.
For some reason, we don't have many screenwriters who think about science fiction.
Those who do only write things in the style of comedy, or when they want to write something serious, what comes out is comedy.
My expectation is more serious and quality science fiction movies.
Cüneyt Arkın came to my mind now for some reason.
The man who saved the world!
Have any of you watched this movie?

Anyway, this topic has no end, so let me finish the article without further ado.
Before I forget, let me remind you that instead of teaching our children all kinds of superstitions, we should teach them the artificial intelligence and digital consciousness that they will live with in the future.
With love and respect to everyone from Moscow.
