Sound Waves

For light, we have found instruments such as telescopes or microscopes, with which we can examine distant or very close objects. But there are no similarly functioning instruments for sound.

Isn't it interesting? Light also travels as a wave and sound also travels as a wave.
For light, we have found instruments called telescopes or microscopes, we can examine far away or very close with these instruments.
But I don't know of any similarly functioning instruments for sound.
To be more precise, for example, we have not yet developed an instrument that can hear what astronauts are talking about on the moon.
Okay, there is a gap between the moon and the earth and sound cannot reach the earth, I know that much. In the gap, sound cannot be transmitted.
But there are such devices working in the world.
For example, in films, they show that they can listen to the environment remotely by amplifying the vibrations of glass, I know that too.
But how far can these remote ambient listening devices hear sound?
Okay, in the world, have you ever heard of a device that can hear what is spoken 10 kilometres away in the open air, where there is nothing like glass in between?
This is one aspect of the event in terms of hearing sound at a distance.
On the contrary, do you think that at very close distances, for example, the sound of two bacteria that we can see under a microscope can be heard?
I can guess that they are not talking to each other, but does anyone know of a device like a micro-sensor that can at least hear the sound of them touching each other?
Our eyes are one of our most important sensory organs, and so are our ears.
It is interesting to me that human beings are so insensitive to sound, while we have made so many advances in the field of light, for example, we have developed telescopes that can analyse galaxies in the depths of space, even galaxies that are billions of light years away.
It seems as if he should have done a lot of work on sound until today.
I understand that it is not possible for us to receive vibrations from places as far away as we can see with light, i.e. to hear sound, because there is a space in between, but at least we should have developed a device that would focus on vibrations from kilometres away.

No, it is not possible, because there are too many sounds around, they all mix together and after a certain distance the sound waves are damped out.
You would not be wrong in saying that.
So okay, you are right, that's exactly what I am saying.
The sound waves that we say are being damped are sound waves that have turned into vibrations so fine that we can no longer hear them.
However, even though their frequencies decrease, those waves are not over!
The progress of sound waves still continues.
I think the sounds can reach quite far away.

In nature, some animals are much more sensitive to sounds than we are.
Their ears can hear much lower frequency sounds.
So it is not easy to give up because our nature does not allow it.
While technology is so advanced, can't we develop a device that can hear sounds from far away and focus on very far distances?
Wouldn't it be nice if someone called out from a great distance and you could hear what they were saying from that far away?
By the way, there are famous American superpower characters who can do this. In other words, in the film world, at least in terms of science fiction, someone has thought about this.
I just haven't heard of a device that does exactly this yet.

We have improved it! What more can we improve?
You can say hello from America, and the voice comes here instantly!
Whoever is calling, it is now possible to transmit voice anywhere in the world! It is even possible to transmit sound to space! What else can we do?
They call the name of the developed device a telephone!
We call it that today, but even though the word means distant sound in Latin, today, look, technology has developed so much that we can call with video if we want with telephones!
And it works over the internet, it is not as expensive as calling directly!

Is that what I'm saying, Haydar Abi?
Take that fly out for God's sake, it's been buzzing in my ear since a while ago.
Are there any black flies around these days? Where did it get in the room?
That's the nature here, nephew, there are both black flies and mosquitoes.
Forget about them, if you want to focus on something, look how beautiful the birds are singing here, focus on them.
And don't worry too much about technology.
There is not much need for technology here, clean air, plenty of food, that is what we really need.
The rest is an empty story.
Come on, come on, that's enough rest, grab the hoe, we still have to hoe the tomatoes.
No idleness! God doesn't like idleness. The servant doesn't like it. Come on, behave and let's finish this.

Yes, as Haydar Abi said, maybe these are empty jobs, what will happen if you hear the sound from afar?
Listen to the sounds of nature, look how beautiful the birds are singing.
But the buzzing of black flies is really unbearable.
Especially mosquitoes are a disaster.
We haven't had so many mosquitoes around here for a long time.
There are ponds nearby, I don't know if they come from the ponds. They used to spray the ponds every year, maybe they didn't spray them this year.

Really, spacecraft have been sent so far away, I wonder how communication is achieved? You know how we say there is a space in between, the sound wants something to transmit vibrations in between like air molecules, the sound doesn't travel, but radio waves, for example, how can radio waves travel in a vacuum?
Isn't that a good question?
There are photons for light to be transmitted, what is there for radio waves?
Let's leave the answer to this question for the next articles.
Let me tell you to stay in touch with nature and stay with science as a technology addict.
Love and respect to everyone from Moscow.
