Where did shaving come from?
Shaving can't be a need! I mean, why would a person start shaving all of a sudden? Is there any other creature in nature that shaves?
For some reason, I wondered how we started shaving today.
Actually, while I was thinking about it, all kinds of other questions came to my mind.
Let's start from the beginning.
***
When human beings started to live in caves, they realised that they had some needs.
One of them is the need to feed.
Yes, men may have hunted on their own at first, but later they started to hunt together.
There are animal species that can do this, that is, hunt together.
During this activity, human beings also felt the need to communicate with each other and started to speak.
There are also animal species that communicate with each other, although not like a human being. I think animals also talk among themselves in some way.
Then mankind also found fire. Maybe by chance, but somehow he learnt to cook his food using fire.
Then he learnt to dress himself.
No one in the animal kingdom has yet mastered these last two teachings. As for the further development of human beings, no one among the animals has been able to make progress.
However, in all this development, human beings have discovered something more in line with their needs, or have been in a certain development.
At this point, the question at the top of my mind confuses me more and more.
Shaving cannot be a need!
I mean, why would a person start shaving all of a sudden?
Is there any other creature in nature that shaves?

And then another thing about this subject puzzles me.
Why are men hairier than women?
Actually, I have my own answer to that!
Men may have evolved in this way because they have to hunt in the cold, snow and winter!
On the other hand, such a need may not be valid for women, since women are in a cave by the fire in a warm environment!
I say this, but I immediately think of the information that mankind spread to the world from Africa.
Africa was probably as hot then as it is today. So if men's beards and moustaches had emerged as a precaution against the cold, African men today would have to be beardless and moustache-less.
So I have disproved this theory by myself.
Look, I can't think of any other ideas on this subject, if it was for the purpose of courting women, if it was to be more imposing, like the men of other creatures in nature, for example, like a lion, a beard and moustache is not such a very nice thing!
I really don't know why the men of mankind have a beard and moustache, while women are deprived of this feature.
***
Whatever the reason, it doesn't matter. But we men have beards and moustaches and ladies don't have this problem.
Yes, I call it a problem, because we men started to shave our beards and moustaches at some stage in history.
And this habit dates back to such ancient times that, according to some sources, 100 thousand years ago, according to some sources, 70 thousand years ago, mankind started to shave.
In some caves, sharp sea shells from these prehistoric periods and even handmade knives from the polished stone age were found.
The fact that people started shaving in ancient times was understood from the primitive paintings they made on the cave walls dating back 30 thousand years ago.
There was no beard and moustache in those makeshift paintings!
Believe if you want to believe, of course.

I don't know about such ancient times, but it is thought that shaving really started with the Egyptians. And also in India!
Egyptians living in Pharaonic times (3000 BC!) hated so much hair that it was a tradition in ancient Egypt to shave all the hair on their bodies, including their hair.
An army of skinheads!
Of course, when we say ancient Egyptians, we are talking about nobles.
The reason for this is thought to be the bad odour caused by hair in the heat and harmful parasites such as lice and fleas.
Then it is thought that shaving spread from Egypt to the Middle East and then to Europe.
It is also known that growing a beard had a divine meaning in Babylonian times.
It is also known that the Roman Emperor Hadrian encouraged growing a beard during his reign to hide the blemishes on his face.
In fact, in all cultures, the beard has been accepted as a symbol of wisdom, especially for older people.
We are also called Aksakal, although we do not use this term as much as Russians. When you say Aksakal in Russia, it means a wise person, yes, they call wise people "aksakal" directly in Turkish. I don't think they know that this word is Turkish.
***
In the following years, beards and moustaches changed in accordance with fashion.
In today's Turkey, for example, stubble is a fashion.
I don't know exactly how it is nowadays, but I guess almond moustache is also a fashion.
***
I have a black and white photograph of my late father at home. He also had an almond moustache, but his was like a Hitler moustache. I guess Hitler moustache was in fashion in those years.
Tsarli Caplin also has an almond moustache in his black and white films.
Unfortunately, Hitler put an end to this fashion due to the evil he did to humanity.
I also notice a fashion of leaving a bam wire in today's young people. The bam wire is just under the lip, you know, there is a joke, who knows it.
***
Beard and moustache are really a problem for us men. As they say, some men shave regularly every morning. I guess it's a habit of years now.
Regardless of age, there are those who shave beautifully in the morning.
I don't care much about this issue anymore, but I still can't be comfortable when they grow too long. It is more troublesome to cut when it grows a little too long anyway.
Let's say I followed the fashion, it's like stubble, no more.
Don't look at me anyway, be sure to shave. Shaving is a sign of civilisation!
The Egyptians did not take the first steps of civilisation for nothing, look, they were uncomfortable with all the hairs and they made it a habit to shave everything and anything at that time.
Love and respect to everyone from Moscow.
