After November 10th, should we really try to understand Atatürk?
We should all know that the founding philosophy of the Republic of Turkey is based on the ideal of raising self-sufficient, free individuals who are not servants and slaves, and creating a happy society made up of them. Societies without economic freedom may face the danger of losing their political freedom after a while!
"Please wake up! There are so many things left undone!" How much have we understood Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk? As the Republic of Turkey, have we been able to realize modern, more civilized, more developed development models, with an economy open to international competition, with its own capital accumulation completed, oriented towards production, and have we had significant achievements at this point?
We should all know that the founding philosophy of the Republic of Turkey is based on the ideal of raising self-sufficient, free individuals who are not servants and slaves, and creating a happy society made up of them. Societies without economic freedom may face the danger of losing their political freedom after a while!
Emphasizing the importance of the issue, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, at the Izmir Economic Congress held between February 17 and March 4, 1923; "After the victory won in the War of Independence, we have to win our economic victory." With his words, he drew a concise road map for the Turkish Nation, which he led in the War of Independence, that full independence in the field of economy should be gained.
Who is Atatürk then? What does he remind us of?
In my opinion, Atatürk is a great person who sacrificed his life for the Turkish Nation and the Republic of Turkey. He is a leader who preached the basic principles and pointed out the importance of a form of government based on democracy and giving the people a say when he said, "The greatest work I have left you is the Republic."
He is the Commander-in-Chief who won the National War of Independence! If this war had not been won, the descendants of Byzantium and their bell ringers would have continued to ring the bells of the church in the lands of the heavenly homeland Anatolia. You would never have heard the call to prayer in this blessed homeland. I underline this fact very strongly. If our Turkish flag is waving in the bosom of our blessed homeland, which has around 130 thousand mosques as of today, and if the call to prayer is being recited from its minarets, we undoubtedly owe this to Atatürk and his heroic comrades-in-arms. O officials! While this simple fact is obvious, is it not ungrateful to say the least to not commemorate the name of the Great Atatürk, who devoted himself to the salvation and prosperity of the great Turkish Nation, in mosques on our National Holidays with stubbornness and sheer ignorance? Is it wrong for 85 million people to expect Turkish state institutions to protect Atatürk and the values of Atatürkism, which will always live with great love in their hearts?
Atatürk, a great leader who saved the Turkish Nation from being a captive, led the Turkish Nation on the path of not being a slave of imperialism with the words "Independence is my character". On July 24, 1923, he registered this to the world with the Lausanne Treaty signed on July 24, 1923.
Despite the death edicts of Istanbul and all the threats of the imperialists, he lit the fire of independence the moment he set foot on the Bandırma ferry and continued his struggle he started from Samsun without fear.
As a genius statesman who turned the bad fate of the Turkish Nation in Çanakkale upside down, crowned it with victory and carried the Turkish existence beyond centuries, he took his place at the highest point in the spiritual throne of this nation.
As a wise man who slept for only 4 hours and devoted the remaining 4 hours to reading books while his staff members at the front slept for 8 hours even on the battlefields, and read nearly 4 thousand books in his life, he is a great example...
He foresaw many things that no one else could see or even imagine, and as a great visionary who could see beyond the Kafdağı, he led the re-establishment of the Turkish State from scratch.
In Churchill's words, "At Gallipoli, we had calculated everything down to the finest detail, but we had not calculated Mustafa Kemal, the genius leader sent to a nation in every century, and sent to the Turkish Nation in this century. In this century, God sent him to the Turkish Nation." A victorious commander who was blended with strategist and superior intelligence!
A great diplomat who never forgot peace even in the bloodiest war environments, who shouted to the world that peace was the final stage of his revolutions and his struggle against imperialism!
A virtuous and honorable personality who said that war is murder unless the homeland is attacked!
A sincere and sincere pious person who made serious studies on positivism-materialism, and at the same time read and researched deeply on the religion of Islam in which he believed, and who was unique, simple and sincere, far from ostentation!
At the same time, a Head Teacher who tried to realize the project of returning to the essence envisioned by the Qur'an by destroying all superstitions and destroying the idols of tradition that captured the thoughts and souls!
A true charismatic historical leader who summarized his discourses and practices in his work Nutuk and founded the Republic of Turkey!
We need to read the Address to the Youth, which is in a way a summary of the Nutuk, once again and assimilate it in our hearts. I believe that then we will truly understand Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and prove to friend and foe that he will always live in the lands of the homeland and that his cherished memory will continue to exist.
O unique leader! I bow respectfully in your spiritual presence, may your soul rest in peace and your place be in heaven.
