March 18

In March 1915, children at the age of 15 who can hold a gun, young people who are not even 18 years old studying in high schools, 20-year-olds in the prime of their lives studying at universities, from all over the country, regardless of east, west, north or south, tried to defend this beautiful homeland against the imperialists. they went.

Moreover, death was certain for them. They left even though they knew they couldn't come back. They wrote epics with their blood and lives in Çanakkale, where martyrs from every family were given, and changed the course of history.

They made Çanakkale impassable.

They became the preface to the epic written by the Turkish Grand National Assembly under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal against the imperialist world with the War of Independence.

It is my call to two ministries that are national at the beginning. As much as possible, take all students and soldiers to Çanakkale and Polatlı, that is, to the tombs of Turkishness where the last epics were written. Let them see what historical awareness, heroism, patriotism, and disregard for death mean, let them understand how this republic was founded with blood and wisdom.

All our heroes, especially Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who wrote the Çanakkale Epic with their blood;

All our martyrs and veterans who followed them without hesitation to their death;

Before you, all our martyrs who gave their lives for this country, this nation and this flag;

Homeland, nation, state, in short, all the components of this country are grateful to you.
