What is the PKK extension called the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan trying to do?

On March 15, 2023, two Eurocopter AS350 helicopters carrying 9 terrorists of the Syrian PeKaKaKa Anti-Terrorist Forces (YAT) crashed in Berkiyat village of Çemankê district, 40 km northwest of Dohuk. The crash of two helicopters, rather than the crash of one helicopter, is evaluated on a technical level. Why?

In 2013, ISIS, the US studio project that declared the independent 'Islamic Emirate' in Fallujah in northern Iraq, gained ground in Syria just as quickly. The organization's apparent goal was to establish a Sharia state that would cover Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, known as Bilad al-Sham. (1) The capture of Mosul, Iraq's second largest city and oil depot, was planned as a sine qua non for the continuity of the Islamic Emirate. As an indicator of this planning, Mosul was completely captured by the organization on June 10, 2014. The oil extracted from Mosul was exported from Nineveh, the city center, and black gold was also sent to Syria from there. ISIS, which was suddenly flush with money, became unmanageable in time. Taking the reins of ISIS was almost synonymous with oil. One of the biggest difficulties in the guidance of such organizations is the self-sufficiency of the organization. The organization that finds the money cannot be guided. Undoubtedly, in this case, the oil card must be taken away from the organization in order to manage it. This is why Nineveh was recaptured from ISIS in August 2017 by Iraqi and Peshmerga forces with the aerial support of the US-led coalition forces.

It should not be forgotten how and when the US was involved in such operations. Another issue that should not be forgotten is that the world public opinion has been turned into an empire of fear by ISIS terrorism, which has been done by using social media extensively. But the real goal is to facilitate the partition of both Syria and Iraq and to strengthen the US-backed PeKaKa, which will get the lion's share. The region is so weak that both Syria and Iraq have been reduced to a state that is incapable of protecting itself. After all this, it was well understood by experts that ISIS, which took over the Mosul-Kirkuk region on a bicycle after Fallujah, was deliberately put into action.

This was the macro goal, now it was time to move on to the Iraqi part of the "Kurdistan in Four Parts Project". Could the primary goal be the unification and integration of the peoples in the region? No way, such an idea was against the general rule. What should have been done? Disaggregation had to be promoted and, if possible, the peoples had to be pitted against each other. In other words, rather than integrating the peoples of the Northern Iraq region, the goal was to separate them, as it has always been done. The well-known political principle of expansionism is based on supporting divisions to the fullest extent rather than integration. And so it has been done. The bifurcation of the autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) into Erbil and Sulaymaniyah was supported and achieved.

Of course, the civil war that erupted in Syria also accelerated the seizure of ISIS targets in the KRG in such a short period of time. However, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) of Masoud Barzani and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) of Jalal Talabani, both backed by Turkey and saved many times from extinction, did not notice any change in their attitudes towards Turkey and were based on a common enmity with Turkey. So much so that Jalal Talabani, who had spent a lifetime in shuttle diplomacy between Damascus and Tehran, was even able to say "We would not give Turkey even one Kurdish cat" (2). This well-defined statement was made in response to Turkey's extradition request after 12 soldiers were martyred in an attack by the terrorist organization PeKaKa in Hakkari in 2007.

"We offer our condolences to the families of the martyrs. Turkey wants PKK officials from us. Capturing and handing over Kurdish officials is a dream that will not come true. We cannot hand over a Kurd, not even a Kurdish cat." (2)

The meaning of this challenge was clearly an indication that the PUK was closer to the PUK than the KDP. After the KDP mended its relations with "Hashd al-Shaabi" behind closed doors, the PUK turned towards the Syrian PeKaKa. The parties have made their positions clear. As is well known, Hashd al-Shaabi was formed by the gathering of different Iraqi militias after ISIS captured Mosul in 2014. It is Iranian. Hashd al-Shaabi is mostly composed of Shiite militias, but it also includes a small number of Sunni groups. The Iranian-backed Shiite Hashd al-Shaabi militia, which has been increasing its effectiveness in Iraq and Syria, has strengthened its position as a "state within a state" (imperium in imperio) in Iraq. (3)

By the way, Jalal Talabani, who served as Iraq's president between 2005 and 2014, suffered a cerebral hemorrhage after a meeting with then Prime Minister Nouri Maliki on December 17, 2012, and since then he has been paralyzed from the neck down and has been kept alive until his death. After the death of Jalal Talabani, the architect of the former pro-Iranian policies, on October 3, 2017 in Berlin, it was in fact his wife 'Hero Ibrahim Ahmed' who had a say over his party PUK, especially after his brain hemorrhage, and who fulfilled all the obligations of public relations. Jalal Talabani and his wife Hero Talabani had two sons, Bafil and Kubat, from their long marriage, and Jalal Talabani's favorite son Kubat Talabani, whom Jalal Talabani had warmed up to politics in his health, is married to Sherri Kraham of Jewish origin.  However, Lahur Sheikh Gengi, the son of Jalal Talabani's older brother Sheikh Gengi and the head of the PUK's intelligence agency (Zenyari), has also become a prominent figure within the PUK. By the way, it should not be forgotten that the PUK leader is Bafil Talabani.

You will recall that in last week's article, we stated that bringing the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan closer to the Syrian-Iraqi border and merging it with the Syrian PeKaKa Satellite State was a new studio project of the USA. The goal is to leave the economically inefficient Dohuk-Erbil to the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government region under the guidance of the "Kurdistan Democratic Party" (KDP), and to create a new autonomous region by combining the oil region of Sulaymaniyah-Kirkuk-Mosul and the regions held by the "Syrian PeKaKa", that is, the PYD/YPG. In fact, it is clear that this project is almost no different from the studio project ISIS. However, unlike ISIS, the existence and motivability of a PeKaKa that has pledged allegiance to the US is obvious.

Needless to say, the most important event that reveals this unity is the crash of two Eurocopter AS350 helicopters carrying 9 terrorists of the Syrian PeKaKa Anti-Terrorist Forces (YAT), which crashed on March 15, 2023 in the village of Berkiyat in the Çemankê district, 40 km northwest of Dohuk. The crash of two helicopters, rather than the crash of one helicopter, is evaluated on a technical level. Why? Because the helicopter in question could carry a maximum of 7 people, but since the terrain was high and mountainous, it could only carry 4-5 people. The second issue is that the helicopters in question were provided by the United States. In fact, Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, referring to the United States, sarcastically said, "PKK/YPG supporters were once again caught red-handed by giving helicopters to terrorists." (4)

Who the helicopters were given to raised another question. KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani answered whose inventory the helicopters were in. At a Nowruz reception for foreign guests on March 18, Masrour Barzani made the following assessment:

"Our security and intelligence agencies have confirmed that one helicopter has crashed, we have no information that a second helicopter has crashed. These two helicopters were actually purchased by a group within the PUK, but we don't know how they ended up in the hands of the SDF (Syrian PeKaKaKa)." (4)

On the other hand, PUK leader Bafil Talabani shared a photo of himself with YAT Commander Shervan Kobani, the nephew of Mazlum Abdi, the leader of the Syrian People's Protection Units (YPG), who died in the accident, and expressed his condolences and praised YAT's role in the war against ISIS. Not content with this, Bafil Talabani sent Anti-Terrorism Commander Wahab Halabja and his aides to the ceremony held in Qamishli on March 22, 2023. Furthermore, PUK Politburo Member Stran Abdullah challenged the KDP, or rather 'Barzanistan', by stating that they were honored to help the Syrian PeKaKaKa. There is a Barzanistan with Erbil as its administrative center and a Talabanistan with Sulaymaniyah as its administrative center. It has become clear to all circles that the US-Israeli Alliance is implementing its new organization plan through Bafil Talabani and Mazlum Kobani, the commander of the YPG (Yekîneyên Parastina Gel) 'People's Protection Units'.

For 71 years, Turkey has fulfilled all its obligations in NATO, and the US has not been able to digest this situation and has not been able to forget it until today. According to the Reverend Dr. Cyrus Hamlin, the first president of the American Robert College in Istanbul, now Boğaziçi University, the United States pioneered the establishment of a propaganda bureau in London in the 1870s in order to disseminate all anti-Turkish news abroad. As Hamlin himself admitted, such propaganda of "one-sided and unreliable information" about any people was based on the assumption that after a few years it would incite enmity and hatred that could not be easily dispelled. After all, I would like to say that the closure of Turkish airspace to aircraft using Iraq's Sulaymaniyah International Airport for landing/departure as of April 3 is a timely and appropriate decision. Moreover, the origins of President Erdoğan's remark "Our doors are closed to him" about US Ambassador to Ankara Jeff Flake after his visit to CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on March 29 should be sought here.

The German Welt newspaper published an analysis of relations between Russia, Turkey and NATO, drawing attention to President Erdoğan's "maneuvering success". After all, Turkey is a 71-year member of NATO, where Russia is defined as an enemy. In this article on relations between Turkey, Russia and Europe, the German Welt newspaper asked the question 'How is Erdoğan pitting NATO and Moscow against each other? ', the official admission of Finland to NATO, the visit of RF Foreign Minister Lavrov to Ankara as a parameter of status quo superiority was recalled and the following statements were made:

"Turkey shows its unity with its western allies and accepts Finland's entry into NATO. But shortly afterwards Putin's Foreign Minister was received in Ankara. Erdogan is maneuvering between Moscow and the West, and he is succeeding." (6)

The Republic of Turkey, the indomitable implementer of Ankara-centered independent policies, is aware of the fact that it is walking on a long, thin and steep road, and acts on a deterministic plane outside the line that geography is destiny. Yes, geography is a determining factor, but it is not destiny, dear readers.
