Talk? Writing? Or Neither?

Throughout history, human beings have made promises to each other, and for a time, with the logic that a promise only comes out of the mouth once, promises had a value. There are many proverbs about the word. - A promise can take you up a mountain; a promise can take you down a mountain. - A word gets the job done; a word loses a head.

- There are proverbs that guide people; there are proverbs that lead people astray.

- Salt is good for tasteless food, words are good for a mindless head.

- Eat big food, do not say big words.

- The bigger the word, the smaller the silence.

- A word is enough for a man.

Sometimes methods were sought to confirm a promise. One of them is making an oath. What we call an oath is a signature in blood!

Ancient Turks used to drip their blood into a bowl full of water when they made a promise. This was also called a treaty.

- My silence is my dignity...

- I have an answer to every word...

- But I look at a word to see if it is a word, and I look at the person who says it to see if he is a man...

These lines are attributed to Mevlana.

We know what happened to the last person who uttered these lines, so I will leave the subject of words here.

Of course there is also promise and engagement, but this promise is not that promise.

Although maybe it is exactly that promise.

Because there is also the concept of "I promised".

But somehow the value of the promise has decreased over time. Promises are no longer enough for human beings.

- A rose does not grow on a bush, a promise is not enough for the ignorant.

- It does not come to give a face to a fool and a promise to an ablutionist.

- Many words are not without lies, much money is not without haram.

Mankind has started to look for something more valuable than words.

- If word is silver, silence is gold.

Of course, the proverb says that silence is more valuable than words, but over time, words have actually been replaced by written documents.

From promises to signed documents.

- Word flies, writing remains!

Our history is full of written documents. And we call them treaties. However, I wrote above what a treaty actually means. There is blood involved in a treaty. Those who break their word pay for it with their blood.

Today, there is also a document we call a contract. How strange, even the name is derived from a promise, but contracts are written and signed documents. They have conditions, obligations. They have a duration. There are penalties for those who do not fulfill their obligations.

We call it a constitution, we also call it a social contract. Does anyone know what happens if the conditions written in the constitution are not followed?

Who was it who said that breaking the constitution once would not hurt? Was it Özal?

Özal did a lot for Turkey in his time, but he also did some things that should not be done. This constitutional issue is an example of his mistakes. I think there was also the "my civil servant knows his job". I think this was also one of his mistakes. Anyway, this is not about Özal.

I guess even signing contracts is not enough anymore. You say you have a written document and they say, "Well, what can I do with it? You say you'll take it to court, but he's still not afraid.

The courts are already overflowing with lawsuits and plaintiffs.

Believe me, I don't know where this will end up.

If you got what you deserved at that moment, you got what you deserved, if not, then good riddance. Neither a promise nor a signed paper seems to matter anymore.

Go to court, of course, but the duration of the lawsuit is so long that the horse has already crossed Üsküdar.

And sometimes find the debtor if you can. He's vanished into thin air. The paper he signed belongs to so-and-so company, the company went bankrupt years ago. You delivered the goods elsewhere, the company you were going to get the money from is nowhere to be found, so you didn't get the money. There are many such cases these days.

The moral of the story is that it is not clear where this will lead. People have changed a lot.

It started with words, it was written down, and nowadays even the writing doesn't matter much.

Let me touch on the good side at the end. The removal of paper from our lives is another positive side of recent developments.

We now do many transactions online and with electronic signatures. Whatever we order, we order from our cell phones. We pay the money from our bank account. We don't even take the money in our hands. We don't even take a pen in our hand and sign that we have received it, the courier scans the digital code and delivers it.

These are the benefits of technology. Everything is done with instant transactions today. Codes are enough for almost everything.

Who knows where this will end up in the future. But it is a fact that technology is beneficial to human life.

Human relations have transformed from oral to written and now to digital world.

Let's see what the future holds.

Love and respect to everyone from Moscow
