Draw Boundaries
Let's describe the job we are going to describe in sufficient detail, let's draw the boundaries of everyone's work well, let's not put more responsibility on employees than they can carry, and let's not forget that we have the main responsibility!
Sharing Responsibility:
The phrase "It's Important to Draw Boundaries" is a phrase that a friend of mine used to say all the time, and I sign under these words.
"Let's describe the job we are going to describe in sufficient detail, let's draw the boundaries of everyone's work well, let's not put more responsibility on employees than they can carry, and let's not forget that we have the main responsibility!"
As engineers, we all grew up at a certain level of education. We learned to think systematically in universities, we know the seriousness of the work we do, and our sufficient infrastructure in our profession is formed sometimes over time and sometimes with experience.
When work, such as construction, is directly related to human life, it is very important that people who know discipline and work, and staff with knowledge and experience bear the responsibility.
However, I have written before, unfortunately, the workforce we use in the fields is not sufficiently educated.
Master-Apprentice Relationship and Education Opportunities:
As with many jobs in ancient times, the master-apprentice relationship exists on construction sites, but since construction works are not as continuous as other jobs, maybe it only works for certain jobs. Generally, employees increase or decrease according to the current job situation, and the workforce is constantly changing according to needs. Besides, the apprentice is usually young, his mind is fit to learn the job, and a strong workforce is usually required here. Just doing the job given is enough. Therefore, it is essential to predetermine who should do what and when, and to assign the right person to deliver the work on time. So planning and discipline! Just like in the military.
Also, there is a limit to what everyone can do. Everyone is created differently, has a different education, can do as much as they can, as much as they can and as long as they can. Knowing this, we have to share work on construction sites. We have to know almost everyone. Who can do what and how much, we need to weigh up beforehand. It is not possible to do this in very large construction sites, so it is very important to control the work very well during the construction phase. Otherwise it will not arrive on time.
People Are Equal But Their Talents Are Not Equal In Their Ability:
By the way, to avoid confusion, let me state at this stage, yes, we are all equal, but this equality in terms of basic human rights, quality of life should be equal for everyone. We all deserve this equally. The fact that what we can do is not equal, and naturally our responsibilities are not equal, does not mean that we do not deserve a quality life, it is the state's top priority to ensure this. In other cases, sometimes nature and sometimes society have already drawn the framework, unfortunately, equality cannot be achieved in everything. Even nature has not acted equally, we all have different characters, structures, minds and abilities.
We even say gender equality, but again in terms of our basic human rights and responsibilities, otherwise we all know the duties that nature has assigned to us.
Returning to our subject, drawing the boundaries and determining the framework in advance is a stage that should be planned first in every work we do. You will know who will do what and to what extent, if there are no borders, you will drown in the details, there will be confusion in the work done and this will be reflected in the whole work.
Importance of Work Distribution:
After all, you can distribute the responsibility within the framework drawn, this responsibility should be as much as everyone can carry. His knowledge should be as much as his skill, not more.
Yes, the responsibility you distribute does not reduce your responsibility, but it ensures that the desired job is done correctly, you cannot reach everything alone. This is true for a simple job, as well as for more complex, large-scale jobs.
So what are the boundaries and framework of the society we live in? In order to determine the framework, I think we must first determine what our purpose as a country is. Is it just to live?
Yes, to live like a human being, to live in prosperity and peace; with faith, with gratitude, with love. It's a purpose. Guaranteeing the same life for our future generations is also a goal. I think that's what we all have in common.
Anyway, whoever you ask on the street will give you this answer in your own way, or you will get a very similar answer.
Benefit of Planning:
We also said that planning is very important. So, do we have a plan to achieve these goals, and if so, what is it? Do you think any plans have been made? Since we cannot accomplish this sacred purpose on our own, I think the plan must be a joint plan. We can't make it happen if we're not together.
Then how should our division of labor in the plan be? How should the distribution of duties and responsibilities be? What is our responsibility? What are the limits we draw for ourselves? To what extent should we be responsible, to what extent should we delegate our responsibility? Or will we transfer our responsibilities to someone else without taking any responsibility? Let's say we think like this, yes, someone should do whatever. In this case, what will be the boundaries we draw to the person we give responsibility? Or do you say there is no need to draw a boundary?
There were many questions. They're all deep topics, I get it, the answers aren't that easy either. But if we really have questions to be answered, if we have a dream for the future, we must first find the answers to these questions. We should at least think about it. Otherwise, I think we are no different from sheep. We are at the mercy of the shepherd.
In fact, we have some answers in our history. In the past, there was a khan, a king, a sultan, a lord, and all of them brought us to a place as much as they could. We are all proud of our history.
State management:
But the era has changed, a person is no longer able to manage the state. There are so many topics. Decisions must be made and time is not enough, control is not enough, planning does not work, we live it all.
On the other hand, we live very fast now with technology. We don't get the information a week later with the mounted messenger as in the past, or in the little notes with the news pigeon, without any guarantee. Communication with smoke is also very old. At the press of a button, everyone is aware of everything nowadays. In this sense, it is important to make quick decisions.
In any case, the main motivation was the fast decision discourse in system change. It was said that in the parliamentary system, decisions were made difficult and time was wasted. Bureaucracy was shackling the feet.
We also tested this system, is anyone satisfied? Those who have probably benefited from this system, the vast majority are in a difficult situation, they only realize the gravity of the situation, we even hear the curse now.
So what are we going to do, we have to make quick decisions and it doesn't happen with one person. Bureaucracy shackles the feet, but too much freedom causes too much wobble. Justice and law are now trampled underfoot. No trust left, social corruption, opportunism, illegal practices, unjust gains. Wrong decisions, refugee problem, economic situation. Foreign policy mistakes and flips, which ones should I list? I will not even go into the plunder and corruption that are tried to be covered up. The wolf liked the misty weather. Coyotes looking like wolves are all around.
How shall we do, what shall we do?
In the modern world, every country has established various systems in its own way. Experts have studied them all. In most of them, it is essential to make decisions with common sense. Think of it like multiple cores, just like in computers. In those with a presidential system, the hands and feet of the president are tightly bound with shackles. The system works by itself.
Except for these two alternatives, the situation is clear. Either they are dragging their country into a war with uncertain results, or their countries are fighting for their lives, their people are hungry and miserable.
Only one solution comes to my mind, common sense. Decisions should be taken in a transparent manner with a common mind with a system that can take quick decisions, and everyone should be included in the management immediately by making use of technology. Everyone's responsibilities and the framework of their work should be well drawn. Control mechanisms should be updated. Everything must be planned, long-term plans must be made, at least for a hundred years.
Only in this way can we guarantee our future, we can live this day humanely.
For all of this, we need educated staff, science and an army of science.
Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk showed the way in his time.
"We will raise our country to the level of the most prosperous and civilized countries in the world. We will make our nation have the most extensive means and resources of welfare. We will raise our national culture above the level of contemporary civilization."
"Two armies are needed to bring the society to its true purpose, to its true happiness. One is the army of soldiers that saves the life of the homeland, and the other is the army of science that kneads the future of the nation."
“The assurance of the future is based on a solid education, and education is based on the teacher.”
We have known this for all these years, but have we heard, absorbed, understood how much of it, accepted how much, agreed with it, how much have we been able to say, at least to ourselves, inside ourselves, that he is telling the truth?
Let's Reassess:
These questions of mine are not for questioning of the last twenty years. More than 100 years have passed since Gazi went to Samsun. It is clear what he can do, what he cannot do, what he can do, and the stage he has brought the country to. It is appreciated not only in us, but all over the world. I'm asking what happens after that great person who has guided me throughout my life reaches eternal peace.
History also writes what the following cadres, who did not have his vision, were able to do under the conditions of that day. I say the conditions of that day, because the years of the second world war, not even getting us involved in the war is a great success. They have served the country as much as they can think of, I can understand that. But it wasn't enough, we still couldn't get straight. What the following cadres could not share, they first dragged us to the 50s and then to the 80s, and today's ones dragged us to today.
I think our problem is a little different, we are always in search of a leader in our genes, whose habits of our history have not changed yet. We are always after a leader, be it the parliamentary system or the current one.
As the Turkish people, we are not aware of our responsibility, or perhaps we do not want any responsibility at all.
We always say that I should not do it, but someone should come and do it. I guess that's how we think, which is why we changed our management system without even thinking about the consequences ourselves, so that one person could handle it.
Some of us didn't try hard enough and let it change, some of us made a mistake and made it change. Now we all suffer the consequences together.
Anyway, let's go back inside our borders again, let's not get too dispersed.
Conclusion:
Yes, there used to be overlockers, and there are now, after all. They would embroider the edges of the fabric and sew the edges of the fabric so that the thread would not be thrown. It is a simple machine actually, but for some reason the sewing machines in our homes cannot do what the overlock machine does. Overlocking is a separate business. Maybe now all kinds of sewing machines are out, after all, they are doing it, they are releasing a new product every day. We are still lagging behind.
It's important to set boundaries in every job, just as the overlocker does.
If we define the boundaries of every job, every responsibility, things will run smoothly. We do not have a headache, we are comfortable. We will build a beautiful future together, as I said, together, but with a common mind.
The most important thing is to never forget that if we want a beautiful future, we always have the responsibility!
