Emergency Call

They call it eCall. I think we can say ‘emergency call’ in Turkish. Why don't they put all the vehicles? Why doesn't the state do what is necessary?

There are many accidents in traffic and many lives are lost in these accidents.

Most of the loss of life is due to the lack of timely intervention at the scene.

On the other hand, we are in the age of technology.

Thanks to technology, when there is an accident, information about the accident can be instantly transferred to the competent organs and some information such as the exact location of the accident, the time of the accident, some information about the vehicle involved in the accident, I don't know how many people were in the vehicle at that moment can be transferred to a centre.

Thus, it may be possible to direct the necessary teams such as ambulance, police and other necessary teams to the accident scene in a timely manner.

The call centre can even communicate with the vehicle.

For example, if there is a survivor in the vehicle, it is possible to talk to him/her about the accident, some calming guidance can be given since he/she will be in a panic state, and it is possible to reduce the loss of life as much as possible by ensuring that he/she takes some precautions.

All these can be done with a simple system that works with a sim card to be installed in vehicles.

After all, we are in the age of technology, these things should not be too difficult anymore!

Aaaa! There is such a system!

112 emergency call centre was fitted with a system that automatically signals to our vehicles in case of an accident!

112 emergency call centre can also access the vehicle by phone!

Look how surprised I am now! Surprised indeed!

But it's true, aren't we in the age of technology? Why am I surprised?

I should have guessed, let alone guessed, I should have been aware of the existence of such a system. If I didn't look and learn it myself, our state should have engraved this issue in the minds of all of us with social messages!

In the case of Eylem Tok, I heard in a news centre that there were also records of the call made by the call centre with this accident signal received at the time of the incident.

Yes, there was such a call and such a recording!

But for some reason, ambulance or police teams were not directed to the accident scene on time by the call centre!

Is this due to negligence? Or is it because the call centre could not reach someone inside the vehicle and therefore did not send an ambulance to the accident scene?

This is really unbelievable.

If there was such a system, how did things go wrong?

Or is it like the camel again? As the camel said, ‘What's crooked about me?

I guess we still have a lot of crooked parts.

Yes, I think in 2018, the requirement to install this accident emergency signalling system in new model vehicles in Europe becomes mandatory by law, and we are making legal arrangements on the same dates.

I don't know if this is a system that can be installed on all vehicles, but it is certain that it is on models after 2018.

I would make this system compulsory for all vehicles, just like compulsory traffic insurance.

After all, this system is probably a simple kit that is probably installed in the sound system of the vehicle.

When it transmits the location information to 112 with the GPS system on it, 112 employees in the application can make the necessary intervention instantly.

Probably the necessary intervention was made in the Eylem Tok case.

In fact, I think the necessary information was also conveyed to the necessary places.

The real question mark is why police teams and ambulance did not reach the accident scene on time.

I don't know the details of the events. Smart woman, she kidnapped her son. Now take him back to Turkey if you can.

Maybe the system is not well known enough, so there are disruptions?

Maybe no one takes such a system seriously yet.

If that's the case, it's grave.

I think it is a system that should be taken seriously.

If such a system has been established, I think it should be operated properly.

Also, if these kits are not available in pre-2018 vehicles, they should be made mandatory for all vehicles as soon as possible. And not just cars, but all vehicles from trucks to buses. Maybe this system should even be applied on railways.

When the kits are installed in all vehicles, everyone will already be aware of the existence of such a system.

Thus, the problems in its use can also be eliminated. At least it will be a system to be taken more seriously.

What's it called?

They call it eCall.

I mean ‘emergency call’, emergency call!

I think we can say ‘Emergency Call!’ in Turkish.

Yes, I think it is a simple system, a system that can save many lives if it is operated properly.

I think it is a system that should be taken more seriously, at least by the authorities.

It is not taken seriously even by the prosecution authorities; emergency service records are often not even included in the indictments.

However, I think how important emergency service records are in terms of clarifying the incidents!

Let me end this article by wishing you an accident-free day.
