For those who are confused

We are facing an abnormal situation. MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli has made an outburst with the aim of pitting the CHP and DEM against each other. Bahçeli, who knows very well that if the two parties act together, it means losing power, is doing what is politically necessary. You may say that Bahçeli is not in power. Yes, he has no responsibility, but it is debatable whether the AKP and Erdoğan would have continued to rule without his support. The DEM's immediate and positive response to Bahçeli's statement "Let Öcalan speak in the parliament “, and statements such as ”We will do our part ’ have confused the minds even more. The nationalist conservative masses are completely divided into two and are completely confused about what to do. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel also raised his hand on this issue. If I were him, I would have said, "O Bahçeli, if you want Öcalan to speak in parliament, let him speak in the MHP group, not in the DEM group, and you would welcome and applaud him. After all, you did not leave Erdoğan alone, then you did a 180-degree turn and supported him. These turns are quite normal for you, I am not surprised at all.’

Anyway, one day after these statements and discussions, the terrorist act against TAI shocked us all once again. There had not been such acts for a long time. We have martyrs and wounded, we are all very saddened. The sleeping terror gave Bahçeli an answer like ‘Since you called me to Ankara, here I am’. Terror, as always, spoke the language it understands; it responded with fire, blood and pain.

We have always written and said this, in the past, today and tomorrow. Let me write again with the honour and pride of standing at the same point politically, of adopting Ataturkism as a motto, of not turning this way and that like a pinwheel.

‘Terrorism and terrorists cannot be negotiated with, they must be fought.’

The same mistake was made in the past. We suffered more casualties than the Cyprus Peace Operation in the trench wars that took place as a result of the weirdness of the solution process. It is not possible to understand why the same mistake is intended to be made again.

The place to negotiate is the Turkish Grand National Assembly, yes, but the person to negotiate with is neither Öcalan, the leader of the PKK terrorist organisation in prison, nor the leading cadres of the terrorist organisation in Qandil, Iraq and Syria. This problem can be solved with the joint efforts and policies of legitimate political parties across the spectrum, elected with the votes of the people, not with negotiations with terrorists.

It is thought-provoking that an organisation that has not been able to carry out an action on Turkish soil for days, maybe months, has carried out an action in the heart of the capital. Not only those responsible for this action, those who ordered it and those who stand behind it, but also those responsible for the resurgence of terrorism and those who failed to prevent this action must be found and brought to justice.
