The way we go is not good

Minority Report Movie:

I was a fan of Tom Cruise with the movie Top Gun, he made a lot of movies afterwards, all of them are very good, but the movie that impressed me a lot is Minority Report, which was released in 2002. Although the plot of the movie was interesting, one scene actually struck me as striking.

It is about the prevention of murders and the arrest of the person who is about to commit the murder, by making use of the benefits of technology, one girl, three siblings, by recording the dreams they had together about the murders that will happen in the future, thanks to their genetic characteristics, by reaching the scene in time before the incident takes place. Of course, an inspector is sent to the institution to examine how lawful the arrest of the person who is considered a crime is because it is a murder that has not yet taken place, this question mark and what kind of decision mechanism it is.

Since the movie was science fiction, there were no technologies foreseen in the movie in those years, in 2002. It was even reported that many people applied to the patent institute to have their new technologies printed on them as soon as they watched the movie.

One of these new technologies is a three-dimensional printer. It didn't exist then, today anyone can buy one for their home and print anything they want out of plastic. The printer in the movie was turning a piece of wood into a colored ball the size of a billiard ball. Two balls were coming out of the printer in turn, and each of them was falling through a transparent tube, spiraling down in front of the operator. One had the name of the murder victim, and the other had the name of the possible murderer.

Here is the scene that strikes me, the inspector asks Tom Cruise, how can you be sure, what if the person you call the possible murderer does not commit the murder?

Instead of answering, Tom Cruise tosses one of the previously printed balls at the trough-shaped control table towards the Inspector, who catches the ball at the last minute before it falls off the end of the table to the floor.

When Tom Cruise asks why did you catch the ball, the inspector answers that it would fall to the ground.

That's how we make sure, says Tom Cruise. We follow the events.

It's a good movie, I recommend it if you haven't watched it.

Seeing the Big Picture:

Yes, some things will happen is predetermined by the course of events. As long as we notice the symptoms. If something bad is going to happen, it is only possible to prevent it without being aware of it.

Of course, it is not enough to be aware of the trend and just follow the developments, it is necessary to take precautions to prevent bad events. Even if we try to take precautions at the last moment if we are late enough in advance, on time, it does not help. What's going to happen is happening.

I guess this is our biggest mistake as a society, we can't think strategically, we can't see the big picture. We can't follow the traces well, we can't understand. We couldn't be a hunter society, we can't smell the prey ourselves, we always followed a person and put fear in the world with our brute strength, we fought, we were successful, but as I said, we couldn't be hunters, we just became warriors.

We like to live in groups, we flock to cities, we live side by side in villages. Being together has its benefits, of course, more comfortable, more convenient, safer. But this situation causes us to act with community psychology in our personal development and character. Without chasing after someone who knows and analyzing it ourselves, we react to every event in the same way as the society behaves.

American Individualism Reflected in Cowboy Movies:

I also like cowboy movies, I've written before. It is not shown much anymore, it used to be on TV every Sunday, now I only watch it on the internet whenever I have the opportunity, if I have the mood. They don't even make new movies anymore. Wild west, herds, cattle raising, dusty old towns, pubs, poker, even America is another world now.

In those old times, for example, the newcomers to America lived in their own farms far from each other, each of them had their own farm on the farm, and they immediately aimed the rifle at the stranger who came.

That's another type of life, they also mostly acted with social psychology, who hung who, when two witnesses were found, the lasso that was thrown from a tree branch at that time passed to whose necks. However, they knew how to be a hunter society, because farm life is not village life like ours. You are on your own. You will decide for yourself, you have to. Then you will follow the tracks yourself.

Maybe that's why, if America is dominating the world today, I think one of the reasons is this difference in understanding.

Turkish Society Is Just Watching What's Happening:

Turning to us, the society is just watching, even though the social reactions are gradually increasing. Again, some of them are after one side and some are after the other, and the conflict of opinion between the poles continues in every environment. Those who say "I said we said", instead of social consensus, are doing what they know in accordance with the order they have established in their own imagination, relying on the power they have for now.

As the reaction grows, the final statement "maybe we won't touch the tracks". Maybe it is, it is not certain yet, maybe the tracks will be broken. Haven't the foragers entered the field anyway, isn't the goal to plant the first tree on the day of conquest? Does the last gas work continue? The project is not clear, so maybe the tracks will not be broken. Is that so?

So, what is this haste, couldn't it be started by making proper planning, preparing a project, maybe opening an international project competition, then submitting it to the approval of the society, arranging the financing, and then starting it? Are the days over? But no, society already gave its approval, right? Election manifesto. We will make a public garden. Then why did you wait so long? If you could start right away after the election, with the people ready, it would be perfect timing.

If We Don't Close Our Eyes to What Will Happen, They Won't Happen

Here, when I follow the traces of the wrong understanding of this Atatürk airport and other similar events, I don't like the situation at all, I understand that the colored wooden ball will fall to the ground. I think we have to take precautions, but I don't know how much it will benefit the couple I will point at the stranger who comes to the farm alone.

We all need to change our way of understanding, it's not enough to be a warrior, it's time to be a hunter. By watching, only fate is accepted.

Okay, I'm not saying it's individual like America, that understanding is now very difficult, maybe impossible, it's not that easy to change the codes from our history. Let's act socially again, but let's at least establish our common decision-making mechanism.

Unity is strength. As long as we realize the threats to our common future at the right time and take precautions.
