Some Things Even Time Doesn't Age

It is as if the universe starts to boil when the water in a pot gets hot enough, there is no single point where that boiling starts, you know, when the water starts to boil, boiling starts almost everywhere in the pot at the same time. As if the big bang happened at the same time almost everywhere in the universe, the movements of all stars show a certain irregularity.

Recently I found a dried leaf among an old book.

Of course, my memories came back, who knows how many years ago I had put that leaf in that book.

It must have attracted my attention, I don't know what leaf it was even today.

Somehow I had forgotten it there all these years, and it never occurred to me to open the cover of the book all this time.

But the leaf was still there as it was the first day I put it there.

***

There's a dullness in the air today, the leaves are not moving, and a strange silence has descended everywhere.

It is as if time has stopped!

Whereas around here there are birdsong in the mornings, the neighbour's crazy rooster crows at meaningless times of the day, someone is always passing by in their car on the road, and even in the playground in front of the house, children are playing, perhaps with a little disturbing shouting.

Today, however, silence pervades the whole place, not even the sound of an insect can be heard.

Not even the shaking of a leaf is heard.

Let alone sounds, there is not even a moving thing in sight.

***

Oh, at last the leaves of the distant white tree have moved a little. There must be a slight breeze up there.

That breeze should reach here soon.

*

Look, one of the neighbour's dogs is barking too, so someone is passing by the house.

The neighbour loves dogs very much, she lives alone with her dogs.

Last year he had 14 dogs, one of them was very vicious, barking at everyone on the road.

That's probably the one that barks. He doesn't take him for walks anymore, he doesn't want people to be disturbed.

The crazy dog is going crazy in the garden of the house.

He barks at everyone passing by.

***

Look what's on my mind.

How come there are winds?

I mean, the atmosphere rotates together with the earth as the earth rotates, so let the air layers rotate together with the earth in accordance with the earth's rotation speed!

If that were the case, there would be no winds, I guess if the layers of air were rotating with the earth in accordance with the earth's rotation speed, they would remain in a certain order.

But something disrupts this order, so that somehow the air from there goes here and the air from here goes there. So there are winds.

***

Sometimes this displacement is so violent that storms break out.

In some storms, sometimes even trees fall down.

Can you imagine? That huge tree, which is tightly wrapped in the soil with its roots, cannot withstand the intensity of the storm and falls down!

Even if it does not topple over, some trees can break their branches in a storm.

Winds can also have a great power!

***

On the one hand, I think of that moment a while ago when everything was still, on the other hand, that piece of dried leaf I had forgotten in the book.

On the other hand, the chaos and movement around at the time of the storm.

The moment of a thunderstorm arouses terror in people, things flying everywhere, huge trees being tossed left and right, a harsh howling, the sound of leaves and branches being tossed.

***

The movement must have started with the big bang.

In fact, with the word "big bang", it is as if there was a bomb lying somewhere and when the time came, it suddenly exploded, and its fragments started to spread around at that moment.

Such a thing is understood by the word explosion.

If what is described as a big bang was something like this, that is, if it was an explosion that happened at a single point, I think all the scientists who have been studying space until today could somehow identify the point where that explosion happened from the movements of galaxies and stars.

But unfortunately, there is no such single point where everything started!

*

Pat, and matter began to move.

Maybe the movement started even before there was matter.

With the beginning of the movement, time started to flow.

***

Maybe that's why Einstein developed formulae linking the flow of time to movement.

Indeed, where there is no movement, one gets the feeling that time does not flow.

For example, when you are waiting for something, those moments of waiting go on and on, time does not pass.

Tick tock, tick tock, tiiik taaak...

Even the ticking sound of the clock seems to lengthen.

***

Have you ever paid attention?

If everything stayed where it was, that is, if nothing moved, we would not realise that time was passing.

Have you ever thought about that?

No, time flows anyway!

Because something that was there a moment ago is now here.

Even if everything around us is standing still, our chest is rising and falling because we are breathing. At least our heart beats, there is movement in us, in our body.

That's why time flows, we know that!

***

But when we breathe, we are in a periodic movement, so how can we understand which movement is at which time in periodic movements?

Bring a film frame before your eyes.

A pendulum is moving left and right, for example. Don't you think that film could be shown to you in reverse?

When you watch a film showing the breaking of a glass cup, you will immediately understand whether the film is shown in reverse or straight.

Because the breaking of the glass is a representation in accordance with the flow of time. You know this!

***

In this case, the so-called entropy comes into play.

Entropy is defined as the tendency of matter to disorder and randomness.

In other words, even if matter becomes organised in some cases, when the tendency of the total matter in the universe is taken into account, entropy is always positive. In other words, everything is scattered around.

***

To explain this issue with examples in order to understand it a little better, for example, while the sun causes entropy to increase with the energy it emits to the universe, plants that bring together substances according to a certain order by utilising sunlight cause entropy to decrease.

Similarly, hydrogen converted into helium by nuclear reactions in the sun's core causes a decrease in entropy, while the energy released into the universe causes an increase in entropy.

However, in any case, the increase in entropy is greater than the decrease in entropy and the universe is expanding at a tremendous rate.

With the movement caused by the expansion, time flows forward continuously.

***

Just as there was a big bang, there will be a big recovery, and when that day comes, time will flow backwards!

Yes, there really was such a thought once upon a time.

It was thought that the universe would expand to a certain level and then start to gather back again, just like a pendulum reaching a peak point and then turning back and travelling the same path backwards.

However, observations prove that this idea cannot be supported.

Because according to this view, the expansion of the universe should slow down as time passes.

However, observations show that the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate rather than slowing down.

***

Therefore, according to the latest theories accepted among scientists, one day the increase in entropy will reach such a limit that everything in the universe will stagnate.

The temperature level will drop, movement will decrease, and perhaps it will stop altogether. The flow of time will also naturally stop.

When will this happen?

Don't worry, neither you, nor me, nor your grandchildren, nor even our grandchildren's grandchildren will be able to see this sad end of the universe.

You have already realised that humanity or life cannot exist in such a sad end.

***

Yes, we prevent the increase of entropy as much as we can with our vitality.

When the entropy increases sufficiently, the universe will be a place where all the substances we know in the periodic table will disintegrate into quarks, atoms will be separated from atoms, even atoms will be shattered, and the movements of even subatomic particles will stop.

Not life, not even time will exist in that universe.

***

So what is the humble lesson we can learn from this article?

Entropy already wants to shatter everything like a monster.

At least for this sad end to come later, I say we should be organised in our lives.

At least, let's use what we have carefully without destroying whatever we have.

If what we have is another heart that values us, let's be careful not to break that heart too.

In fact, I think this is the most important thing.

Thus, we may be able to stand against the entropy monster a little by ourselves.

***

I used to love to pluck some flowers and leaves and put them between books to dry them.

Over time, I learnt to love those flowers in their branches without plucking them.

I recommend that you also adopt the principle of loving flowers in their branches.

***

Colourful roses have bloomed in the garden, and the lady makes me smell each one separately to see how nice it smells.

Smell the roses on the branch.

Because when you pluck them, the flowers wither quickly!

My love and respect to everyone from Moscow.
