The World Turns, No matter whatever you say

We don't really stop where we stand in the universe, even if we don't realize it. We are in constant motion at great speed. Maybe the secret is here, maybe our life energy stems from this.

The world spins:

Once upon a time, we thought that the universe revolved around the earth, but in the end, mankind understood, in fact, the earth does. They say that it was a little difficult, but it's too late, but I think there is no one who does not know this fact anymore.

It even has a song, "The world turns, no matter what you say, life goes on, even if you don't realize it". Nilüfer once sang the song beautifully.

In between I read news that there are people who believe the earth is flat, but asparagus news probably. I can't believe it, maybe they say they believe it as a joke. Who knows, in this age it is very difficult. Let me just say it's a matter of faith, I won't comment further.

Some Technical Information About Earth's Rotation:

We are sure that the earth is spinning, but does anyone know how fast the rotation speed is?

We use latitude and longitude or other names parallel and meridians to determine our place on Earth.

You can imagine parallels or latitudes as cutting a watermelon horizontally into round slices, and meridians or longitudes cutting vertically like watermelon slices.

Since watermelon is not yet in season, it is very expensive these days, they sell it by slicing in the markets. There are cuts of both types in the markets, those who do not know, please go to a market and have a look. There's a lot of deer going around the internet. I think it's early yet, I guess we have to wait for the season. It will get cheaper, I haven't lost hope yet, we all have the right to eat watermelon.

Coming back to our topic,

Yes, let's say we live in Istanbul. Since the world rotates, it means we are returning with it. We need distance and time information to calculate our speed.

As we know, Istanbul is in the northern hemisphere, and its parallel is 41°01' north. The circumference of the earth on the equator is 40,000 km. If we say that, it is not very difficult to calculate the circle diameter of the parallel where Istanbul is located, we multiply the equatorial circumference by the cosine of the angle of the parallel we are on.

Atatürk has derived so many mathematical terms, for some reason there is no term for that trigonometry. You said to continue the derivation, but who understands, there are still those who argue whether Turkish can be a language of science, if you derive the necessary term, it will become a language of science like honey. But you will run ahead, first you find something, you name it.

Again, we strayed from the subject, sometimes I can't help myself, I get angry.

Yes, if we continue, the circumference of the 41st parallel is like 30,000 km in this case. Since a day has 24 hours, that is, the earth rotates on its axis every 24 hours, this information is sufficient. In other words, it is possible to calculate how fast we rotate with the world around the axis of the world where we are sitting. Actually calculating our real speed is not that easy, but let's do a simple calculation. To simplify the calculation, let's not include the effect of the earth's rotation around the sun in the velocity calculation. Let's not include the solar system's rotation around our Milky Way galaxy. In fact, our Milky Way galaxy is moving around the center of the universe at a certain speed, let's not add that. There is more, in fact, maybe our universe is moving or revolving around something we do not know, it is not possible for us to take it into account because we do not have such information. So our calculation is only the speed of rotation where we sit.

How Fast Is Istanbul's Rotation Speed?

As a result, our round rate rotation speed is 1250 km/h. surprised? It seems surprising to me. I think we're spinning pretty fast, we're living pretty fast in a way.

If we were sitting somewhere on the equator, we would be spinning at 1667 km/h. Faster.

I once worked in a city called Norilsk, close to the Arctic Ocean. It was on the 69th parallel. If we calculate it, it is 600 km/h. Those living in Istanbul are more fortunate, which means that life flows faster in Istanbul. I said speed means longer life, "live fast, live long!" I wrote in yesterday's article, the subject of space-time. Although I said that this subject is debatable, because we do not normally feel the flow of time.

A strange situation is at the poles. If we were standing at the pole, it would take us 24 hours to turn around, how slow did it seem now, right? It's very cold there though. Not for a day, not standing for 10 minutes.

Summer or winter, it doesn't matter, it's freezing cold. Of course that's how it is for now. If we humans continue to emit so much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, maybe all the glaciers will warm up and melt. May Allah bless our end, who knows when we will reach this consciousness as humanity. We are doing our best to leave an unlivable world to our children and grandchildren. I don't think this will end well.

Yes, let's take a look at Moscow, Moscow is 55°45', if we calculate it, it is about 950 km/h. I think I'd better move to Istanbul, Istanbul is faster. But these days, life is calmer here, and from that perspective, it suddenly seemed more logical to stay in Moscow. And the prices are not as high as Istanbul. Let me stay here for a while, I'm the best.

Rotation Speed Increases As You Go South:

In fact, if you want to go a little faster, you should go further south, to Bodrum, Fethiye, Kaş or Kalkan. The speed is even higher there. I looked at the coordinate information in Fethiye. It says 36°38′25". It rotates on a circle of 32,500 km by our calculation, that is, those living on our southern coasts live at a speed of 1350 km/h. Now I understand why life is so beautiful there, only sun, sea, sand, etc. It's not the beach, it's the weather, it means life is flowing fast.

I think it is not that difficult for most of us to perceive this speed. Still, let's do some comparison. The rotation speed is actually quite a speed. It is forbidden to use the car on the highway, let's say, even if we speed 120 km per hour, it would be 10 times lower for the people living in Istanbul.

The speed of sound is 1224 km/h. Think about it, people in Istanbul are actually moving a little faster than the speed of sound, even when they are sitting. It's like flying in a supersonic plane, poor Concorde, although its heir is on the way, it means that Europe-America flights will start again at super speed.

Large passenger planes travel at speeds of 900-950 km per hour. At takeoff, their speed is 200-250 km per hour. How slow is it in comparison?

Speed Can Be Perceived Differently With Reference Speeds:

Let's convert our rotation speed to "m/s" unit for Istanbul to understand it a little better. 1250 km/h = 347 m/s. Usain Bolt ran the 100 meters in 9.58 seconds in 2009. It's 10.44 meters per second. 33 times slower. Well, he was pretty slow, he can't do it anymore, but at least the enthusiasts who want to break his record need to work harder.

The speed record for a volleyball is 134 km/h. Trefl Gdańsk player Bartosz Filipiak reached this speed and shared the world record with his serve during the quarter-finals of the 2019/20 Polish Men's Cup. Previously, this record belonged to Ivani Zaytsev with his service in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Nations League. Tiana Boskovic from Eczacıbaşı holds the women's record at 110.3 km/h. Even these speeds are very low compared to our rotation speed, just think about it.

Conclusion:

Joking aside, we don't really stop where we stand in the universe, even if we don't realize it. We are in constant motion at great speed. Maybe the secret is here, maybe our life energy stems from this.

Oh how nice, there is no need to do anything, do not be complacent just because we are not standing still.

There's still a lot of work to do. Get up, move a little, we've done great things in a short time, but we haven't been able to achieve all of them yet. We still have a long way to go, we have to do bigger things and we have to be determined. Without wasting any more time, we must raise our national culture above the level of contemporary civilization. Besides, even God does not love the idle.

Love and regards from Moscow
