Did the CIA and Mossad Really Fail in Intelligence?
Can it be possible that the US and the UK, which are aware of everything that happens in the region and instantly share everything that happens with their London and Washington DC centers, can deny intelligence sharing to Israel, which the US considers to be its "only strategic partner", including NATO countries?
On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched the "Aqsa Flood" against Israel. in the aftermath of the operation named "The Iron Cage". In this process, the "Iron Cage", known as Israel's security wall, has also become a topic of discussion. In this two-month period, Israel's attacks against civilian, unarmed and innocent Palestinians, which it launched by using its so-called right of self-defense, which was almost handed to it on a golden platter, turned into a human tragedy and a genocide. Despite the 1948 Geneva Convention, which clearly states that there will be no show of force against unarmed civilians, prisoners, journalists, members of the press, the wounded and militias who have surrendered their weapons, Israel's brutal and inhumane attacks continue in front of the eyes of the whole world, just as the world once watched the Gulf War on CNN International; however, I would like to elaborate on a different dimension of the incident rather than these brutal and merciless attacks.
Some self-proclaimed strategists or war experts (!) have stated that the CIA, the American Central Intelligence Agency, and Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency, have failed in this process and have, so to speak, failed miserably. How could these intelligence networks, which have become a legend all over the world, be unaware of the 5,500 missile attacks by Hamas against Israel and the preparatory phase of these attacks and not realize it? Let's start watching the movie in reverse this time. In the immediate aftermath of the Second World War, the United States and the United Kingdom, intent on implementing realpolitik in its strictest form, came together in 1947 to establish the United Kingdom/United States of America (UKUSA), an intelligence/contra-inteligence and espionage organization. These two countries, which divided into five strategic regions between the two poles, took the line descending from the Balkans to the Middle East and the line extending from Eurasia to the Middle East and including the most painful geographies of the world (the Balkans, unfortunately Turkey, the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East and Eurasia) under their own control and developed different strategies here, while the rest of the world's regions of interest, which they considered "secondary", were handed over to the Commonwealth countries consisting of Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Thus, the close cooperation between the UK's GCHQ (General Communication Headquarter) and the US's NSA (National Security Agency), i.e. the national security services of both countries, has been going on since the signing of the UKUSA agreement and the Arab-Israeli War of 1948, followed by the Suez Crisis of 1956, Starting on April 1, 1955, the EOKA terrorism that turned the island of Cyprus into a bloodbath for years, the Turkish-Greek conflict following the Bloody Christmas of December 21, 1963, the 1967 Six Day War in the Middle East and the Yom Kippur War of 1973 are the conflict environments closely followed in the first period. The process that started with the UKUSA continues in the 21st century under the name "Project 415" with new agreements signed by the aforementioned countries, including almost all conflicts, occupations and wars in the Middle East and Far East, including the Gulf War, the invasion of Kuwait, the US's so-called struggle to bring democracy to Iraq and the Syrian civil war.
As of 2010, the NSA had given £39.9 million in financial support to the British GCHQ center for the Mastery of Internet project. In 2011, the Americans covered half of the costs incurred by GCHQ. In the last three years, the US NSA has paid GCHQ 160 billion dollars for the continuation of ongoing projects and cooperation. Edward Joseph Snowden, an American NSA agent who defected to Moscow following his conscience, confessed: "We monitor everything from the President's bilateral meetings in the Oval Office to Aunt Hatice's bean recipe in the kitchen, 24 hours a day, without interruption." It is worth mentioning that the center of all these activities is the world's largest wiretapping system called Echelon, and that the crucial point for the uninterrupted continuation of the activities of this center is the Eastern Mediterranean and the island of Cyprus. After being cornered in the House of Lords on the issue of invasion of privacy, the British Defense Minister stated that "There are 18 intranet networks connecting the world, 14 of which are fiber optic in the Mediterranean.
I cannot say that we do not interfere in the inputs and outputs of these 14 intranet networks." The undersea fiber optic internet cables crossing the Mediterranean Sea make the island of Cyprus a direct and very natural espionage base. The fiber optic cables occupying the seabed in the Eastern Mediterranean are the lines connecting the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East geography, and in addition to the lines connecting Cyprus to Israel and Cyprus to Syria, there are also lines connecting Cyprus to Lebanon, Cyprus to Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Italy and almost the entire Mediterranean geography, and these are the lifeblood of the British-American jointly produced espionage activity. In this context, the cables of France Telecom, AT&T and Slovak Telecom as well as Türk Telekom were tapped and recorded.
In addition, the SEA-ME-WE3 main line connecting South East Asia, the Middle East and Western Europe passes directly near the island of Cyprus. Internet communication via fiber optic undersea lines passes under the sea and connects to the mainland, where it goes back under the sea after an intermediate station. During this process, a different connection is made to these lines and the flow of information under the sea is directed towards two different centers at the same time. It is the Ayios Nikolaos station that does all this on the island of Cyprus. Another aspect that facilitated the work of the British on the island of Cyprus was that these activities could not be carried out without the support of central telecommunications institutions.
In the UK, the UK and the US, which receive great infrastructure support from the Telecom company in the UK, will receive this support from the telecommunications administration of the Republic of Cyprus in accordance with Article 6 of the 1960 agreement on bases on the island of Cyprus. After December 21, 1963, after the Turkish Cypriots left the partnership agreement, today the Republic of Cyprus is represented by Greek Cypriots. As such, the EU-member SCGA is officially obliged by the agreement to provide "consultancy and cooperation services" to the UK. Ironically, the Greek Cypriots, on the one hand, react to intelligence and wire-tapping activities on the island, but on the other hand, they officially assist these activities through the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (CYTA), albeit under different names and titles.
Thus, in addition to the 14 different fiber optic internet lines currently in use, new ones are planned, and thus the entire Middle East, the entire Mediterranean region from Spain to Egypt, Turkey, Greece and Italy, and the Eurasian geography seem to be in the palm of the British GCHQ and the American NSA. Moreover, apart from Agrotur and Dikelya, which are known to the public as the British bases on the island in the classical sense, the intelligence stations where these activities are carried out and for which the two countries pay a large sum to the GASC every year are naturally at the service of Israel. Could it be possible that the US and the UK, which are aware of everything that happens in the region and share all the happenings with their London and Washington DC centers, would deny intelligence sharing to Israel, which the US considers to be its "only strategic partner", including NATO countries?
It is sometimes good to play devil's advocate.
