External Forces

When foreign powers attack us militarily, economically, politically, etc., the government exists to prevent them. Governments that prevent attacks, glorify the state with their actions and increase the welfare of the people continue in power with the appreciation of the people, while those who fail transfer their duties to others, again with the appreciation of the people. If the government changes, the state does not collapse and the homeland is not divided. The state is our house, governments are our tenants. The ownership of the house does not change hands just because the tenant leaves.

Exactly 3 years ago, I wrote an article criticizing those who attributed every calamity to foreign powers. It is unbelievable that similar complaints are still being made by those who govern us today.

Let me try to explain it again with small additions.

Let's assume that foreign powers are carrying out an operation against Turkey.

Let's assume that they are raising the exchange rate and lowering the Turkish lira.

Let's assume that the imperialist powers have united against us and are trying to collapse Turkey economically.

Let's assume that the British banks, the American administration, all of them are dealing with Turkey.

Let's assume that instead of dealing with China and Russia, they are attacking Turkey.

Okay, let's say all of this is true.

Okay;

If I have enough money, savings, production, income and power, what difference does it make if they make an operation against me?

If I am strong, I don't care what anyone tries to do.

After all, if I have reserves, reserves, savings, I can push away those who try to play tricks on me.

However, if I am weak, if I am fragile, if I have squandered, if I am impoverished, if I have sold everything I have, if I have invested my money in image rather than production, if I have implemented wrong policies, then of course I will be affected by the attacks.

In 2016, Turkey was the 17th largest economy in terms of Gross National Product (GNP).

When it started to decline from then on, we said, "There is a mistake, we are not getting better, Turkey has become the country with the most serious decline in GNP among the top 20, there is a problem with our economic policies, we need to fix it."

By 2022, we had fallen to 21st place, years out of the top 20 major economies.

With GNP decreasing every year, it is not possible to reach the 2023 target, nor is it possible to reach the 2053 and 2071 targets as long as the same political understanding continues.

Yes, all other powers, states, non-state actors, financial circles may try to weaken us, but the most important task of the rulers elected by the people is to prevent such attacks and reverse the deterioration.

Those who govern the country have all the authority and responsibility given to them by the people to prevent such operations against the country. That is why they have at their disposal the army, police, security, intelligence, treasury, finance, bureaucrats, banks, consultants, palaces, cars, planes, etc., in other words, all the means and capabilities of the executive and the economy. The people give this authority to the government to govern them well, not to complain.

Government is not a place for complaining, it is a place for doing.

Being in power for years, not days, not months, not years, and blaming foreign powers for not being successful is ridiculous and absurd.

When foreign powers attack us militarily, economically, politically, etc., the government exists to prevent them.

Governments that prevent attacks, glorify the state with their actions, and increase the welfare of the people continue in power with the appreciation of the people, while those who fail, again with the appreciation of the people, hand over their duties to others.

If the government changes, the state does not collapse and the homeland is not divided. The state is our house, governments are our tenants. The ownership of the house does not change hands just because the tenant leaves.

The people change the government whose actions they are not satisfied with at election time.

In democracies, the people have their say.

Governments change, the state remains the same.

It is the main duty of the opposition to criticize the government for better governance of the country, for not doing what you have done, for doing what you have not done. Criticizing the government is never criticizing the state.

I wanted to remind you again so that we do not fall into the trap of those who mix apples and oranges, straw and chaff before the elections.
